WWE SmackDown Ratings, Viewership (9/12/17): Blue Brand Has Highest Numbers In Months
The WWE SmackDown ratings data and viewership information is in for this week’s show (things were delayed due to Hurricane Irma), and the blue brand saw an up-tick in their audience this week. Tuesday’s show, which featured New Day and The Usos fight for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles, Naomi get a shot at Natalya’s SmackDown Women’s Title, and Vince McMahon return to WWE television only to be destroyed by Kevin Owens, drew 2.754 million viewers. This is up from last week’s 2.582 million viewers and is the best number number for SmackDown Live since mid-April.
Vince McMahon’s return more than likely has a lot to do with the blue brand’s increase in viewers this week. As we’ve reported, RAW lost viewers this week, so “The Boss” making an appearance and getting beat down probably kept viewers tuned in. People always seem to want to see what Vince is going to do.
SmackDown Live was #2 in viewership for this week, falling behind Tucker Carlson. SmackDown Live was also #2 in the 18-49 demographic on cable this week, falling behind American Horror Story. In the coveted 18-49 demographic, the blue brand garnered a .88 cable rating for Tuesday’s show. This is up from the .80 cable rating they did last week in the same demographic.
