WWE NXT Taping Results and Spoilers (9/14/17): Returns, Debuts, & Injuries
After having to be postponed for a couple of days due to the impact of Hurricane Irma on Florida, NXT was finally able to have its next round of tapings tonight at Full Sail. The brand taped the next four weeks worth of shows (which will take them through mid- October), and there were some returns from injuries, some additions to stables, and the beginnings of the build for TakeOver Houston.
Spoilers ahead, so read on at your own risk.
TM61 returned during tonight’s tapings. Shane Thorne has been on the shelf with a knee injury since January, so it’s nice to see this incredibly talented team back in the ring. They defeated Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler in tonight’s dark match.
September 27th NXT Spoilers:
- William Regal announces that at NXT TakeOver: Houston, the new NXT Women’s Champion will be crowned in a Fatal Four Way bout. A series of matches will determine the competitors in that match.
- Sanity’s Eric Young challenges Adam Cole.
- Lars Sullivan defeated Oney Lorcan. After the match, Lars went after Oney, but Danny Burch ran out to make the save.
- Heavy Machinery defeated Demetrious Bronson and an partner that wasn’t even introduced or identified.
- Liv Morgan defeated Vanessa Borne.
- Kassius Ohno defeated Fabian Aichner.
- Adam Cole defeated Eric Young.
October 4th NXT Spoilers:
- Nikki Cross and Ruby Riot defeated Billie Kay and Peyton Royce.
- Lio Rush was supposed to face Aleister Black in his NXT debut, but the match never started due to The Velveteen Dream attacking Rush.
- Kairi Sane defeated Aliyah.
- Drew McIntyre defeated Roderick Strong to retain his NXT Championship. After the match, The Undisputed Era (Cole, Fish, & O’Reilly) have a brief discussion with Strong before leaving.

October 11th NXT Spoilers:
- Peyton Royce defeated Liv Morgan and Nikki Cross to earn a spot in the Fatal Four Way at TakeOver: Houston for the NXT Women’s Title. The Undisputed Era apparently added Taynara Contito to their stable, using her to cost Nikki Cross the match.

- The Velveteen Dream defeated Lio Rush.
- Lars Sullivan defeated Danny Burch.
- The Street Profits won a squash match against an unknown team.
- Andrade “Cien” Almas defeated Johnny Gargano.
October 18th NXT Spoilers:
- Ember Moon defeated Sonya Deville and Ruby Riot to earn a spot in the Fatal Four Way at TakeOver: Houston for the NXT Women’s Title. Ruby may have suffered an an ankle injury during this match. She landed awkwardly on the ramp after an attempted crossbody and was in obvious pain. We will keep you updated as more becomes available.
- Aleister Black defeated Raul Mendoza.
- Kassius Ohno defeated Cezar Bononi.
- Sanity defeated The Undisputed Era in a 6-Man Tag Match via disqualification when The Authors Of Pain came in and destroyed Sanity.
