As the wrestling landscape continues to evolve, WWE has confirmed that the crossover show with AAA, titled “Worlds Collide,” which was taped on Saturday, is set to air this Wednesday, September 30th, starting at 7 PM ET on YouTube. This airing will occur one hour before AEW Dynamite, which goes live at 8 PM ET.
WWE’s ultimate goal is to prevent AEW from getting renewed, as per Dave Meltzer on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio. One strategy to achieve this is by attempting to undermine AEW’s TV ratings. Meltzer raised questions about whether this tactic will effectively impact AEW’s ratings — still he noted that WWE feels gaining an hour advantage will help them.
Additionally, Wednesday’s show of AEW Dynamite was announced on Monday as a tribute to the late PAC. Reports indicate that WWE decided to schedule Worlds Collide for this Wednesday as far back as early August.
