Vince Russo’s The Brand Recap – WWE Cutting Costs, Nakamura Wins to Satisfy the Marks, Where’s The Demon, More!
Russo is joined on today’s show by his co-host Jeff Lane and Rue from RueTV.
Russo points out that he noticed the lack of pyro during A.J. Styles entrance on Smackdown Live Tuesday night. It’s obvious to him that cutting pyro was a cost-cutting measure by WWE, and they’ve also cut a bunch of shows from the WWE Network so they must be concerned with profits.
Lane says that Dave Meltzer informed this past week that WWE made $30 Million in profit last year, and they’ve only made $5 Million in profits so far this year. That’s a very concerning figure, and it’s no surprise to Russo that they’re cutting costs if these numbers are true. However, he points out that nobody knows where Meltzer is getting these numbers.
Russo gets into his discussion of RAW and Smackdown Live.
Russo believes that he has a great idea to help WWE save some extra money. He says that Paul Heyman has become such a huge parody of himself with all his animated motions and facial expressions, so Russo believes WWE should cut Heyman to save some money. To replace him, WWE should draw in an animated cartoon character to walk to the ring with Lesnar each week, because Heyman is just a cartoon character at this point anyways.
