Vince Russo’s The Brand Recap – Remembering Bobby Heenan, RAW Fails to Deliver, Heat with Jim Duggan, More!

Russo opens today’s show by speaking about The Emmys. He says he’s not a ‘Trump guy’, but he thought it was embarrassing that the entire show was dedicated to ripping the President of the United States and Leader of the Free World. He thought this was outrageous, and in years past this would have been called treason.

Russo really thought WWE’s tribute to Bobby Heenan on Monday Night RAW was very well done. Heenan is irreplaceable, and there’ll never be anyone like him again. What really bothers Russo, is that nobody is trying to be entertaining like Heenan anymore, and that’s too bad. He wonders when WWE took the ‘entertainment’ out of ‘sports entertainment’.

Speaking about this week’s RAW, Russo says this was basically a placeholder in order to get to No Mercy. The storylines didn’t advance and nothing really happened. He says that this was a very poor effort for WWE, and they’re going to have to do much better than this with the Fall television lineup now kicking into high gear.

Russo says he worked an independent booking in Nashville over the weekend. He was initially booked to referee the entire match but he’s been bothered by vertigo lately, and he didn’t want to be doing that much movement because he was afraid he’d pass out during the match. He recalls Ric Flair collapsing in a match one time years ago due to vertigo.
