Russo is joined on today’s show by his co-host Jeff Lane.
Lane presents a clip of Dave Meltzer criticizing WWE for choosing Baron Corbin as the next ‘guy’. Meltzer says that Corbin is basically the same as Jinder Mahal except he’s a couple of inches taller and has a worse body, although ‘probably cleaner’. Russo couldn’t believe that Meltzer snuck in that last shot, accusing Mahal of taking steroids.
Russo says that he was around the wrestling business for a lot of years, and during that time he saw a lot of fantastic physiques. Not ONCE did he consider accusing a professional wrestling of taking steroids. He believes that’s a unbelievably stupid thing to do, and Meltzer should be ashamed of himself.
Lane points out that Meltzer sent out a tweet last week saying that this is a great time to be a wrestling fan. Russo says that Meltzer is so caught up with NJPW’s G1 tournament, that he has no idea what’s going on in the rest of the world. Russo assumes that every time Meltzer thinks about the G1 tournament he pees his pants.
