VIDEO: Two Former NXT Stars Are Coming To AEW This Week

Their new home? The last year and a half has seen more shakeups and changes to the WWE roster than has been seen in a very long time. Wrestlers have been coming and going from the company, with dozens being released. It was clear that some of them were going to wind up heading somewhere else, and now two of them have made their debut for another promotion.

Former NXT stars Jeff Parker and Matt Lee, have been announced for this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite. The team (better known as Chase Parker and Matt Martel as Ever-Rise in NXT) will be known as 2.0 and will team with Daniel Garcia to face Jon Moxley, Eddie Kingston and Darby Allin in a six man tag. The two were released from their WWE contracts on June 25 along with several others.

This should be a fun one. Check out the announcement plus some of the team’s time in NXT:

Opinion: It was no secret that the released wrestlers would wind up somewhere and it is interesting to see that Lee and Parker have found a place to go so soon. I don’t know how long this is going to last but it is nice to see them get a chance. They were both very charismatic in NXT but never got the chance to really showcase themselves on the show. Maybe that can change here and that is a good thing.

What do you think of the team? How will they do in NXT? Let us know in the comments below.
