Triple H Speaks On Mayweather vs. McGregor Success, Ronda Rousey in WWE
WWE Chief Operating Officer (COO) Triple H visited ESPN’s First Take to speak about a variety of topics such as the Mae Young Classic and last Saturday’s Mayweather vs. McGregor boxing match. After promoting and highlighting the women’s tournament, Triple H was asked about what made the Mayweather vs. McGregor match special – from a promotional view. The answer made sense: personality. Triple H explained Mayweather and McGregor’s personality stem from what WWE created. He acknowledged Mayweather previously reinvented himself from “Pretty Boy” to “Money,” and such reinventions have taken place in professional wrestling such as Hulk Hogan becoming “Hollywood” Hulk Hogan.
Triple H also commented about other sport athletes appearing on WWE and connecting to WWE, which, again, goes back to “personality.”
During both First Take and a broadcast of SportsCenter, Triple H addressed the likelihood of Ronda Rousey performing in WWE. Trips says it’s no secret Rousey is a fan of WWE and “having conversations.” The WWE COO added, “If she wants the opportunity, I’ll be willing to give it to her.”
Rousey’s WWE presence has once again been felt this summer as she attended the Mae Young Classic tapings in Full Sail University since her fellow MMA Four Horsewomen member Shayna Baszler is one of 32 competitors in the tournament.
