It’s being reported that Tommaso Ciampa, one half of former NXT Tag Team Champions DIY with Johnny Gargano, suffered a knee injury at tonight’s NXT live event in Highland Heights, Kentucky. DIY was facing Sanity, and when Ciampa went to dive off of the apron onto the floor and onto his opponents, he apparently landed wrong and hurt his left knee.

The ref threw up the “X”, and the match was immediately stopped and was ruled a no contest. Fans at ringside quoted Ciampa as being quite upset, saying “Get me the f**k out of here” as he hopped to the back with assistance from trainers at ringside.

DIY and The Authors of Pain are scheduled to have a Ladder Match for the NXT Tag Team Titles Saturday night at NXT TakeOver: Chicago. If Ciampa was legitimately injured tonight, and it’s something that’s can’t be worked through, this could put their match in jeopardy. At this late date, it is unknown what the brand would do as a replacement bout or even if they would have another team challenge the current champions for the titles.

We will have more information on Ciampa and the extent of his injury as more details become available.
