द हॉलीवुड रिपोर्टर के अनुसार, हल्क होगन ने रियल अमेरिकन फ्रीस्टाइल को एक “वैध खेल प्रतियोगिता” बताया है। उन्होंने यह स्पष्ट किया कि इसमें पहले से तय की गई कोई स्टोरीलाइन नहीं होगी और आने वाली यह प्रमोशन बेजोड़ “ईमानदारी” के साथ पेश की जाएगी। वहीं दूसरी ओर, होगन ने यह भी वादा किया है कि इस ब्रांड में “हाई-इम्पैक्ट मूव्स” देखने को मिलेंगी, जो नई पीढ़ी के दर्शकों को “मंत्रमुग्ध” कर देंगी। अब यह तो वक्त ही बताएगा कि ये दोनों विचार असल दुनिया में कितनी अच्छी तरह से साथ निभा पाते हैं।

इस जोड़ी ने सोशल मीडिया पर कई प्रमोशनल वीडियो के ज़रिए फ्रीस्टाइल रेसलिंग लीग की झलक दिखाई। उन्होंने यह भी बताया कि यह साझेदारी आगे चलकर इज़ी मार्टिनेज के साथ और भी विस्तार ले सकती है, जिन्होंने इज़ी स्टाइल रेसलिंग की स्थापना की थी।

एसोसिएटेड प्रेस के अनुसार, हल्क होगन की फ्रीस्टाइल रेसलिंग की ओर रुचि तब शुरू हुई जब उनके सौतेले बेटे ने उन्हें इसे देखने के लिए ज़ोर दिया, और धीरे-धीरे होगन को इसमें मज़ा आने लगा। समय के साथ जब वह इस रेसलिंग स्टाइल से अधिक परिचित हुए, तो इस WWE दिग्गज ने इसमें मुनाफे की संभावनाएं देखनी शुरू कर दीं। अब वह रियल अमेरिकन फ्रीस्टाइल के कमिश्नर की भूमिका निभाने वाले हैं।

खबरों के मुताबिक, होगन को उम्मीद है कि आने वाली यह लीग उस खेल के लिए आय का एक बड़ा स्रोत बनेगी, जो अब तक बड़े पैमाने पर आर्थिक लाभ से दूर रहा है। होगन और बिशॉफ ने द हॉलीवुड रिपोर्टर को बताया कि रियल अमेरिकन फ्रीस्टाइल शौकिया रेसलर्स को “सात अंकों” (मिलियन डॉलर) की कमाई का अवसर प्रदान करेगी।

While speaking to The Delz Show, Ken Shamrock mentioned that he’s open to coming back to WWE for a match with Brock Lesnar, The Rock or Kurt Angle. Shamrock also mentioned that he wanting to be World Champion.

“In the WWF, or the WWE as they call it now, the one thing that I was not able to capture was that Heavyweight belt. I’m telling you, I want a chance to be able to go after that belt.”

Ring Rust Radio recently interviewed Jack Gallagher. Here are the highlights:

Gallagher on Vince McMahon being approachable: “The relationship with Vince McMahon, he is surprisingly approachable. Growing up watching WWE or WWF as I did growing up, you think of Vince McMahon as this larger-than-life scary character. He is a larger-than-life character, but he is very welcoming, charming, he sits down and if he has time in his busy schedule, which is rare, but if he has time in his schedule, he has time for anyone.”

Thoughts on elevating the cruiserweight division: “For me, it’s not escaping the division, it’s about elevating it. NXT went from a developmental system which was considered a step-down, to a completely separate brand unto itself where people are stars and they sell out stadiums and they tour by themselves,” Gallagher said. “In my head I think, if we all work hard, then 205 Live becomes good, the division becomes good, the division raises, and then there are more opportunities and then there are more interesting things for everyone as well.”

Working with Brian Kendrick: “It’s been really wonderful for me because I get to pick his brain, and he obviously has the experience on me. It occurred to me that when Brian first started in WWE, his mentor was William Regal, and he sort of has a reverse situation now where he’s mentoring a new little William Regal in WWE. I enjoy the sort of mirrored aspect of that.”

Chris Jericho recently talked about Vince McMahon while speaking to Tom Power. Here are some highlights from the interview:

Vince McMahon: “He’s a very unique character, he’s a billionaire that’s built this. Even if you don’t know Vince you know the WWE or the WWF, he’s built this entire empire, a mainstay in the fabric of pop culture in the world and will be, WWE will never go away. He’s a billionaire, he’s a genius, interesting, lots of different dichotomies within that guy. He will never write a book I don’t think, he doesn’t like talking about himself, but I do. He’s one of my favorite characters in the world, I love writing about him.”

Working relationship with McMahon: “I’ve worked with him for 17 years, he’s my boss. You don’t always love your boss. Tell me somebody that’s been working somewhere for a long time that’s had nothing but wine and roses with their boss, and I’ll tell you that you’re probably lying. He’s in charge, sometimes I have to do things I don’t want to do because he is the boss. I trust him, but even sometimes if I don’t, I have no choice. He’s the boss, either I do it or I quit.”

Vince McMahon’s work ethic: “There’s nothing that he would ask you to do that he wouldn’t do himself. We were in Orlando doing a show, I had to do press in New York early in the morning. He had me come on his private jet, we flew from Orlando to New York, had some drinks, listened to some tunes, had a great time, landed at 4:30, both drunk. He goes, ‘What are you doing?’ I was going home to pass out because I had to get up at 6:30 for press. He goes, ‘I’m going to the gym, come with me.’ I’m like, ‘I’m not going to the gym at 4:30, what’s wrong with you?’ He’s like, ‘I have to go to work.’ ‘So do I.’ And I get a text when I wake up the next morning at 6:30, super-hungover feeling like crap, from my 72-year-old boss who’s bench-pressing 275 pounds giving me the finger… That’s him, he just works, and it rubs off on you.”

Vince’s way of doing business: “Vince McMahon’s way of doing things is, there’s no prima donnas allowed. You get the job done, you go do the press that needs to be done, you do the meet-and-greets that need to be done, you do the due diligence for your character, you train, you stay in shape, and that’s part of your job. If you can’t do that, you won’t last and you won’t make it to the top… You don’t last, not anymore. Reality will strike you very quickly when you end up being the opening-match jobber to The Tulip or Funaki or whoever they bring in.”

Perry Saturn took to Facebook and asked fans to donate to a GoFundMe page as he’s just “a week or two” from being homeless.

This is the same campaign set up three months ago and as of this writing, they have raised $14,906 of a $100,000 goal.

The description of the GoFundMe reads as follows:-

”Perry Saturn is known the world over as one of the best sports entertainers of the 20th and 21st century. He’s been a part of ECW, WCW and the WWE.

That kind of entertainment over a 25 year career has taken a significant toll. Perry is dealing with a grade “serious” traumatic brain injury, which causes the following problems:

1) Almost constant headaches
2) Sensitivity to light
3) Brain fog – losing time, basically
4) Inability to drive or work
5) Dimentia

Perry is in a position to get good medical care, but he’s strapped financially. He can’t work and his wife Lisa is a full time caregiver, essentially. They live within driving distance of his care but they need money to pay living expenses, medical bills, and to arrange reliable transportation that can make it through the winter.

This seems like a lofty goal, we know – but keep in mind each MRI is $2,500, each test is $1,000 – the money flows fast and in the wrong direction.
