WWE SmackDown Live Results – July 25 2017

Welcome to SmackDown Live, only 48 hours removed from the Battleground PPV!

Jinder Mahal retained the WWE Championship against Randy Orton in the Punjabi Prison match. However, to nobody’s surprise, Orton wasn’t beaten one-on-one. In fact, it took FOUR guys for Mahal to retain, including himself, The Singh Brothers, and the return of The Great Khali. Look, I don’t like the fact that Mahal is being booked so weak, nor does the return of Khali excite me, but I do like the concept of Mahal having an impressive entourage. Mahal is a beatable Champion but he has two lackeys who will go through hell for him, and a giant to be the muscle. It’s a great sight and I’m excited to see where WWE go next with the Punjabi Posse.

Kevin Owens won the United States Championship from AJ Styles at WWE Battleground. The match itself was fine but the finish left almost everyone scratching their heads. There was a seemingly unnecessary ref bump, a series of submissions in which nobody tapped, and then a weak roll-up to finish an anti-climatic match. It definitely was a blemish on a match that was only starting to get good. However, it’s likely we’ll get the rubber match between the two at SummerSlam and so the feud will continue tonight. That being said, there are rumours that last-minute plan changes were made to allow AJ to leap into a feud with Jinder Mahal. Either way, we’ll find out soon!

The New Day won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship’s on Sunday night, following the best match on the entire card. The match was fantastic and it felt like the right time to put the titles on The New Day. It’s unclear if we’re going to get a third showdown between the two teams at SummerSlam, but seeing as SmackDown’s tag division is pretty lacking, it seems likely. I’m fine with another month of these two teams going at it but in the meantime WWE really has to build a credible contender to New Day. Speaking of other teams, The Fashion Police were once again attacked on Sunday night and we’re no closer to figuring out who perpetrated the attacks. Rumour has it that Luke Harper and Erick Rowan are behind it, and I really hope that’s the case because they could be credible contender’s to the New Day should they beat The Fashion Police.

Natalya won the Five-Way Elimination Match at WWE Battleground on Sunday night, which means she will face Naomi at SummerSlam for the Women’s Championship. These two could have a good match but I worry about the feud when it comes to the microphone. That being said, WWE would do well to include Carmella in the feud and she could easily make it more interesting in the promo department, as well as give Naomi another thing to worry about.

That’s the preview for tonight’s show, which is likely to feature the continued feuds between Corbin and Nakamura, as well as Sami Zayn and Mike Kanellis. Don’t forget to check out the Ringside News app and get talking on the Ringside Talk app! Enjoy the show!

WWE 205 Live Results – July 25 2017

Welcome to the fastest hour on television, 205 Live!

Tonight’s show features the Cruiserweight Champion, King Neville in action in the main event! Neville faces Ariya Daivari, a man who has made a name for himself recently by destroying Akira Tozawa. Last night, Daivari attacked Tozawa again but this time, he also took the fight to Neville! The audacity! Daivari clearly believes he is on the Neville level and tonight he has a chance to prove it. I could easily see a scenario in which Tozawa interferes tonight and we end up with a Triple Threat at SummerSlam, although that might leave us with too many multi-man matches at the summer showcase.

Also on tonight’s 205 Live, TJP and Rich Swann continue their seemingly friendly battle for supremacy as they partake in tag team action, albeit on separate teams. TJP teams with Tony Nese tonight to take on Rich Swann and Cedric Alexander, in which should be a great match.

I’d also expect to see Noam Dar, Mustafa Ali, Drew Gulak, Brian Kendrick and Jack Gallagher on tonight’s show. Let us know what you’re excited to see, or not excited to see, on the free Ringside Talk app and remember to enjoy the show!

WWE 205 Live Results – July 4 2017

Welcome to the fastest hour on television, 205 Live!

Tonight’s show takes place on the patriotic 4th of July and we’re less than a week away from Great Balls of Fire. The Cruiserweight Champion, Neville, puts his title on the line against the formidable Akira Tozawa on the GBF kick-off show. Last night on Raw Neville obliterated Mustafa Ali and sent a clear message to Tozawa: no-one is on the Neville level. WWE.Com is teasing that Neville will look to send another message on tonight’s show, perhaps against Tozawa himself.

The only other preview for tonight’s show pertains to Alicia Fox, Noam Dar, and Cedric Alexander. Yes, I know, the feud that will not die. WWE’s writers seem to have little to no interest in 205 Live, hence why feuds last for a very long time and revolve around some small issue that never gets resolved. Thankfully the in-ring action is usually pretty great and that makes it worth watching, that being said this feud needs to come to an end and Alexander can move on to something much more worth his time.

Get talking on the Ringside Talk app and the Ringside News app, both of which you can grab for free! Enjoy the show!

WWE Monday Night Raw Results – July 3 2017

Welcome to the final edition of Monday Night Raw before Sunday’s Great Balls of Fire PPV!

Tonight’s show is anchored by the return of Brock Lesnar, who will defend his Universal Championship for the first time since WrestleMania on Sunday. Lesnar has had to sit back and watch as Samoa Joe took centre stage for this feud and even attacked his advocate Paul Heyman. So Lesnar decided to pay Joe a visit and was promptly choked down by the Samoan Bulldozer! One week from the huge showdown, Lesnar will definitely want to regain some momentum, meanwhile Samoa Joe is on the roll of a lifetime and fans are hungry for more!

Speaking of being hungry and never satisfied, Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns will also have a gargantuan showdown at Great Balls of Fire – which ironically might be the best card for a terribly named PPV ever. The two big canines will fight for ownership of the back yard in an Ambulance Match and I would be shocked if we didn’t see said ambulance come into play one more time this week, seeing as Braun threw Roman into it last week and sent him packing. Fans will hope to see more of the same this week.

Last week’s main event saw Sasha Banks defeat the seemingly unstoppable Nia Jax, who had already bested Emma, Mickie James, Dana Brooke, and Bayley, in a Gauntlet Match to become number one contender. Banks’ win was pretty surprising but sets-up an exciting showdown at Great Balls of Fire. The Champion Alexa Bliss came to the ring after the match and shoved her title in Banks’ face but was promptly met with a dropkick to her own dentures! Expect more fireworks tonight ahead of the 4th of July!

Elsewhere on tonight’s show, Enzo Amore was ceremoniously dumped by Big Cass for the second week in a row and it seems inevitable that these two will have a showdown on Sunday night. The match hasn’t yet been announced but surely tonight is the night. And then there’s Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt who’ve done more talking in the past three weeks than Undertaker did in over 30 years, so hopefully we get something more substantial tonight.

All that and more to look forward to on tonight’s show. Don’t forget to check out the Ringside News app, as well as our new Ringside Talk app, which allows you to converse with all your fellow marks! Let us know your thoughts and feelings and enjoy the show!

WWE SmackDown Live Results – June 27th, 2017

A video package opens the show focusing on James Ellsworth helping Carmella at the Money in the Bank PPV to obtain the briefcase. We then see Daniel Bryan stripping Carmella of the briefcase last week and booking a rematch.

We go live to San Diego where Tom Phillips welcomes us to the show.

Smackdown General Manager Daniel Bryan is out first to kick off the show. Big reaction for Bryan tonight in San Diego. A loud “DANIEL BRYAN” chant starts up. Bryan asks if they are ready for a great night tonight? He is proud of the women’s evolution on Smackdown Live and tonight we have two huge women’s matches. Bryan plugs Noami defending the Smackdown Women’s Championship against Lana and the “Money in the Bank” ladder rematch featuring Charlotte, Becky Lynch, Natalya, Carmella and Tamina.

Carmella is out to interrupt along with James Ellsworth. Carmella says Smackdown is the land of injustice. She brings up Bryan stripping her of the briefcase last week. Carmella says she won the ladder match fair and square. She says the rule book states a ladder match is no DQ and has no rules. Carmella says the first woman to gain possession of the contract wins the match. She again repeats the stipulation and says Bryan has no right to take the briefcase away from her. Carmella yells she did nothing wrong.

Bryan says Carmella made some valid points including that ladder matches are no DQ and that other people have interfered in Money in the Bank matches before. He points out that never has someone walked up a ladder and handed it to another competitor. Bryan says he made his decision, but he wants to see what the WWE Universe thinks. He asks if he should cancel the match and hand the briefcase back to Carmella? A loud “NO” chant breaks out in San Diego. Bryan poses having the second ever women’s Money in the Bank ladder match here tonight. San Diego erupts with “YES” chants.

Ellsworth tells everyone to shut up. He says the people make him sick and the fans are the real villains. Ellsworth says they control “this stupid puppet.” He says Bryan takes pleasure in upsetting his “home girl.” A loud “ELLSWORTH SUCKS” chant breaks out. Ellsworth says he used to look up to Bryan. He doesn’t see a man anymore. Ellsworth only sees a “gutless, spineless, coward” that has no grapefruits to cut it in the ring and that he made up some “hokey injury.” Bryan gets in the face of Ellsworth and then starts smiling. He says he could just fire Ellsworth, but it isn’t about James tonight.

Bryan says it is about the “real” superstars of Smackdown Live. He says he knows he banned Ellsworth from ringside last week. Bryan says not to worry and he takes that back. “I am going to ban you from the entire arena,” says Bryan. Bryan calls for security. Carmella yells that Ellsworth didn’t mean it. Security walks down the ramp and gets in the ring going after Ellsworth. Ellsworth tries to leave and they grab him immediately. Ellsworth is grabbing onto the ropes as security drags him out of the ring. He then tells them he is fine and tries to take off again at ringside. Ellsworth tries to break free again jumping on the ring barricade. Security grabs him again and drags him to the back.

WWE 205 Live Results – June 27th, 2017

We are in San Diego, California and your announcers are Vic Joseph and Corey Graves.

Jack Gallagher is in the back and he is asked about his loss against Tony Nese and how will he do against Brian Kendrick. Jack says he let his gentlemanly manners get in the way. He let the scoundrel take adavantage of him. He will not let his guard down tonight.

While Jack Gallagher is in the ring, Brian Kendrick comes out dressed like Jack and he says if he looked like this every day, he would not look at himself. He says that Jack is a caricature that has grown stale. He calls Jack a joke and embarrassment. He says that Jack does not realize he is a laughing stock. England is one big embarrassment. Jack, you are no James Bond. You are no Kingsman. You are a pint sized version of William Regal and Brian says he is not laughing.

Drew Gulak is in the back and he is asked about his match against Mustafa Ali, but he is shown what happened last week when Ali beat Gulak. Gulak complains about how they showed the one time that Ali got lucky. That clip proved the message behind his No Fly Zone. Could Mustafa Ali beat him with some flashy move? Drew says he may have lost the match, but it allows him to tell everyone “Safe and Sound . . . Feet on the Ground”

Mustafa Ali shows up and he wants to know why does Drew Gulak despise these show offs? What is there to hate about exciting, high flying moves? or is high flying something Drew cannot do?

We go to commercial.

Daivari says $15,000 means nothing to him. He would not waste his time to bend over and pick it up if he dropped it on the floor. Dar says he is happy he does not have to pay Ariya back because he is broke after everything with Alicia. Alicia calls Noam and he takes the call but Daivari hangs up. Daivari says he does not want Dar’s money but he still owes him. Daivari destroys Dar’s phone.

We go to commercial.

Dar gets on the mic and he says he knows Alicia is at home recovering and he would love to be on FaceTime with her, but Cedric Alexander’s chapter is over. He has defended her honor and they can move on.

Neville walks in the back as we go to commercial.

We are back and it is time for the King to come out and address his subjects.

Neville says in two weeks at Great Balls of Fire, he defends his WWE Cruiserweight Title against the next so called challenger. This time, the individual is someone who has been misguided and misled. He does not appreciate the gravity of the situation he has found himself in. The delusional WWE Universe thinks he has a snowball’s chance in hell of beating him. The man he speaks of is the wonder kid Akira Tozawa.

Neville says he is not dealing with the white noise known as Titus O’Neil. He says he sees a little lamb being led to the slaughter. If you like to give lessons Tozawa, the King of the Cruiserweights likes to give warnings. He tells Tozawa not to show up because if you do, you will be slapped in the face with a cold, harsh realization that you do not belong in the ring with him and you do not belong on the Neville Level. You can ask anyone who has been there before and you will get hurt.

Akira Tozawa comes out and Neville says he is happy to see the Flavor of the Month. He asks what does Tozawa want and Tozawa screams. Neville asks Tozawa if he understands what he is saying. Tozawa continues to scream. Neville tells Tozawa to stop while he continues to scream. Tozawa with a series of kicks and Neville goes to the floor. Tozawa continues to AH as we go to credits.

WWE Monday Night Raw Results – June 26, 2017

Welcome to Monday Night Raw for June 26 2017!

Last week’s Raw was a pretty stacked episode and ended with a shocking reveal: Big Cass was the one who attacked Enzo Amore! Weirdly enough, it was Corey Graves who revealed the information – because he has access to security footage where no one else did – and Cass admitted to it before explaining exactly why he did it. It was hard to disagree with anything Cass said before he planted his big boot in Enzo’s face and walked off to the boo’s of the WWE Universe. The break-up received mixed reactions as some thought the duo had run their course, where others wanted them to get at least one tag title run. Regardless, tonight’s Raw will be interesting to see how Enzo responds to his former brother.

A huge return also bolstered last week’s Raw, as Braun Strowman came back from injury to cost Roman Reigns the match against Samoa Joe. Strowman then walked down to the ring and reverse chokeslammed Roman. The two are set to meet again, at Great Balls of Fire, in an Ambulance Match! The winner of this bout will go on to face Broc….I mean, the winner of the Universal Championship match at Great Balls. Strowman’s return was awesome and the fans exploded for him. Expect more brawling tonight between the two giants.

Speaking of Brock Lesnar, the Champion is scheduled to appear on tonight’s Raw and once again cross paths with Samoa Joe. Maybe they will be kept apart, rather than trying to kill each other again, but one thing is for sure, when Brock is in town, everyone watches. Joe has been fantastic since becoming number one contender and, even if he doesn’t win the strap, at least we get a few more weeks of him being the destroyer that he is billed as!

Bray Wyatt and Seth Rollins have given a lot of lengthy promo’s against one and other recently, which often go around in circles and do little to help either man. Which is why tonight I’d like to see them actually put some actions behind their words and go toe-to-toe! Elsewhere, Finn Balor will be looking for revenge on Elias Samson, and The Miz will put his new entourage to good use against Dean Ambrose, but is Maryse gone for good?

All that and loads more to look forward to on tonight’s show! Let us know what you’re excited to see in the comments and be sure to check out the Ringside News app, and enjoy the show!

WWE SmackDown Live Results – 6 June 2017

Welcome to another edition of SmackDown Live!

Tonight we have a bonafide first-time ever match-up between two huge stars: Kevin Owens and Shinsuke Nakamura! These two men are set to lock horns in the Money In The Bank ladder match in less than two weeks but tonight they get to inflict some damage and probably have a show stealer!

Also on tonight’s show, AJ Styles will face Dolph Ziggler once again – after losing last week in what was seemingly a botched finish. Dave Meltzer predicted this match would happen again tonight, in order to give AJ a win and some momentum back. The match last week was really starting to heat-up into a great affair but it ended abruptly when Ziggler superkicked AJ in the back of the head.

The New Day jumped right into the tag team title picture upon arriving on SmackDown last week. Xavier Woods, Big E, and Kofi Kingston challenged The Usos in their first appearance on the blue brand since coming over via the Superstar Shake-up. And now a SmackDown Tag Team Championship match awaits them at the Money in the Bank PPV. I expect to finally see The New Day in tag team action tonight, but will The Uso’s play fair?

The women’s Money In The Bank ladder match is also less than two weeks away, and it’s a match that has gotten a lot of people excited. However it does seemingly leave Naomi off of a PPV, having not defended her title in a while. This could really hurt the Champion as she looks to add credibility to her reign. Rumours suggest Lana might appear soon and challenge Naomi at Money in the Bank but I don’t see this happening – why would WWE promote Lana so heavily, only to have her lose her first match and fade away? Hopefully we find out tonight if Naomi will have a role at the PPV.

And then there’s Jinder Mahal and Randy Orton. The two didn’t meet physically last week, but Orton did give a good promo and Jinder appeared on the tron afterwards to annoy him. Expect things to really heat-up tonight between these two, as WWE need to add some fuel to the fire before long. That’s the preview for tonight’s show, let us know what you’re excited to see in the comments below, check out the free Ringside News app, and enjoy the show!

WWE Extreme Rules Results – June 4 2017

Welcome to Ringside News’ coverage of WWE Extreme Rules 2017!

Let’s start at the top for a change: the Kick-Off show begins at 7:00 PM EST, and the main show starts at 8 PM. The Kick-Off show will see another rematch between Kalisto and Apollo Crews, with Titus O’Neil in Apollo’s corner. Originally the pre-show match was supposed to be the mixed tag match but it was changed just today. So join us for the Kick-Off show and get the results of this match and the rundown of the entire card.

Two tag team matches take place on the main card tonight, one of which is The Hardy Boyz Vs Sheamus & Cesaro for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships. This match will take place inside of a steel cage and the stipulation is fitting because things have gotten personal between the two teams. The other match is the mixed tag team match with Rich Swann & Sasha Banks against Noam Dar and Alicia Fox. This match was on the pre-show but was moved to the main card, as far as I can tell. The match doesn’t really have a stipulation, besides the genders, but it will look to settle the score once and for all between Noam Dar, Alicia Fox, and Rich Swann.

Dean Ambrose puts his Intercontinental Championship on the line against The Miz on tonight’s show. This match is kind of the opposite of every other on the card tonight, as Dean Ambrose will lose his title if he gets disqualified against Miz. This stipulation was put in place because The Miz claims Ambrose cannot win matches without getting crazy, and also to differentiate it from the rest of the card. The odds are already stacked against Ambrose, but there is a strong chance Elias Samson may interfere and attack The Miz – reflecting his “eye for an eye” lyric on Raw this past week. Let us know who you think will walk out with the gold!

Speaking of gold, Neville stands a strong chance of losing his tonight, as he faces Austin Aries in a submission match. This is the third PPV in a row that Neville and Aries will have gone toe-to-toe and it seems like the chances of Neville retaining are super slim. Aries has been run through the gauntlet time and time again by Neville and TJP, but tonight the odds actually favour him, and the only way to keep things going is for Aries to grab a win against the King of the Cruiserweights.

Alexa Bliss battles Bayley in a Kendo Stick-On-A-Pole match, following one of the worst WWE TV segments in recent memory. Last Monday, Bliss gave us a Bayley, This Is Your Life segment, but what transpired was a lot more like Jerry Springer than The Rock ‘n’ Sock Connection. This left us less-than-excited for the title match tonight, especially considering the gimmick of the match means that there won’t be any use of the Kendo Stick for the majority of the match. I expect this match to be as good as it could be, simply because of how good Bayley and Alexa are, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Bayley take the win!

The main event tonight is the first-ever Extreme Rules Fatal 5-Way between Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, Bray Wyatt, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns.
