205 Live Continues to Perform Poorly

205 Live continues to perform poorly on the WWE Network.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the show failed to rank in the top 20 shows on the Network this week. The show actually ranked behind a three-month old episode of Ride Along. Halloween Havoc back in 1998 got more views than 205 Live did.

This isn’t a first time occurrence either, as the show rarely ranks in the top 10 despite airing live on the WWE Network and being built up on RAW the previous night.

Possible Announcer for the Upcoming WWE Women’s Tournament

Dave Meltzer indicated in the latest installment of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Jim Ross may be one of the play-by-play announcers for the upcoming Women’s Tournament that will be taped on July 13th and July 14th at Full Sail University.

Ross is expected to work various WWE projects under his new deal with WWE and this could be one of them. Ross will also be calling the action on the new weekly WWE UK show that will also be on the WWE Network.

WWE Having Second Thoughts on Turning Charlotte Babyface?

WWE teased a heel turn already with Charlotte Flair on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live during a backstage segment. For those who missed it, Charlotte was acting heel during he backstage segment when she pointed blame at Noami for Becky Lynch’s loss. Lynch stepped in to clam things down. While things appear to look good right now, they have begun teasing a possible Flair vs. Naomi match, which may take place after WWE Backlash.

Dave Meltzer mentioned on the latest installment of Wrestling Observer Radio that there was a lot of opposition in WWE on the idea of turning her babyface in the first place because they believed it was not exactly the right time for it. It is very possible that she only remains as a babyface for a little while before she turns back to a heel character.
