* GWN Exclusive: Alisha Edwards defeats Laurel Van Ness.

* Eli Drake vs Moose in a Case vs Case match. Eli Drake defeats Moose. OVE ran in mid match to attack Moose, Eddie Edwards made the save, but Eli Drake hit Moose with a baseball bat. Moose kicked out, Drake hit his finish for the win and now has the World & Tag Title cases.

* Josh Matthews and Matt Sydal out, tonight Josh Matthews will wrestle Petey Williams. Josh says Sydal is not World Champion now because of Petey and worst of all Josh Matthews isn’t the Grand Champion right now because of Petey.

* Petey Williams defeats Josh Matthews by DQ when Matt Sydal interferes, Petey gets beat down post match.

* Fallah Bahh, Richard Justice, & Tyrus defeat KM & The Cult of Lee.

* Rosemary defeats Taya Valkyrie with a piledriver off the top rope through a table in a No DQ Match.

* Eli Drake out, he picked up Case #1 and it gave him a Tag Title shot. But now he has the World Title Case. Since Aries is busy with Alberto at Redemption, he might as well use the Tag Title Case. LAX comes out. Konnan asks who Eli Drake’s Tag Partner is… It’s Scott Steiner. Scott Steiner confirms Redemption on April 22nd will occur in Toronto.

* Moose vs Sami Callihan. Moose defeats Sami Callihan by DQ when Sami uses the baseball bat, OVE beat down of Moose, Eddie tries to make the save but also gets beat down with the baseball bat, Alisha Edwards out, OVE corner her, lights go out, Tommy Dreamers makes the save.

* It’s announced that at Redemption it will be OVE vs Tommy Dreamer, Eddie Edwards, & Moose in a House Of Hardcore Match.

* Braxton Sutter & Su Yung defeat Fallah Bahh & Kiera Hogan.

* Allie and Su Yung have a tear apart brawl after the match.

* Xplosion: Rohit Raju defeats Sugar Dunkerton.

* Kongo Kong vs Johnny Impact. Johnny gets the win via DQ after Kong throws him into the steel steps.

* KM out, he says he an innovator, today he is going to innovate a one of a kind match. Today he is going to create the KM Open Challenge. He’s going to call out the best in the business like Barry Horowitz, Brooklyn Brawler, and D-Ray 3000.

* Brian Cage defeats KM.

* Alberto El Patron, Matt Sydal, and OVE vs Moose, Tommy Dreamer, Petey Williams, and Austin Aries. Matt Sydal pins Petey Williams with some help from Josh Matthews to win it for his team.

On today’s episode of The Taz Show, Taz will discuss the classic matchup between Abdullah The Butcher and Bruiser Brody which aired from Japan on April 10th, 1981 as part of the Champions Carnival tournament.

Taz points out that that Abdullah and Brody didn’t need the NWA or WWE “machine” to get over. They got over huge all over the world by constantly travelling to different territories and bringing their aggressive style with them wherever they went. Whether it be Japan, Puerto Rico, or the United States, these two men had an amazing rivalry throughout the years, and we rarely see this type of rivalry today.

He mentions that Abdullah and Brody were very different looking individuals, but neither of them look like regular people who work in an office building. They were both very unique looking people and if you saw either of them in an airport, you’d know they were stars of some kind.

Braun Strowman is one of the only competitors in WWE today that resembles this type of old-school character. He’s similar to Brody and Abdullah in the sense that if you see him walking towards you in public you’d probably turn and walk the other way. He has a tremendous mystique about him, and there’s no doubt that this is a person you wouldn’t want to mess with.

Welcome to the merriest episode of Monday Night Raw ever! And we hope you’re having a great Christmas!

Tonight’s festive Raw will feature the return of the 16-time WWE World Champion, John Cena. It’s unclear if Cena is back for an extended period of time, or if this is a simple one-off appearance, but either way it ill be fun to see Cena back in a Raw ring.

The Royal Rumble is less than a month away and last week we got the historic announcement that there would be a women’s Rumble match in 2018! Now that we’ve got the two matches set, it’s time to start getting entrants. Personally I think entering a Rumble should be earned and something fought for, not just assumed. Like qualifying matches etc., whereas there’s little build-up because we all know Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, and Bray Wyatt will be there. Regardless, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Cena announce his appearance in the upcoming Rumble match, which he’s currently a favourite to win.

Elsewhere on tonight’s Raw, The Bar battle Rollins and Ambrose for momentum, again, and Braun Strowman continues to butt-heads with Kane ahead of their huge match with Brock Lesnar. Garcia is joined on today’s show by Nia Jax.

Jax speaks about her relationship with her cousin, The Rock. She says that Rock really is a dork, and he is truly himself at all times. She thinks that’s why he’s had so much success in Hollywood, because realness translates to people. Garcia agrees entirely and says that she had so much fun working with Rock over the years. Their backstage interview segments during the attitude era will go down as some of the most entertaining segments of all time.

Jax mentions that watching The Rock wrestle at ringside at WrestleMania 28 was what really inspired her to start a career in professional wrestling. Initially she didn’t want Rock to know that she wanted to start training, but he soon caught wind of it and got her a tryout with WWE. He pointed out that professional wrestling is a tough business, and the only way to know if you’re cut out for it is to have a tryout in WWE.

As soon as she stepped into the ring and started to roll around she fell in love with it instantly. Other than head trainer, Bill DeMott, she didn’t tell anyone that she was related to Rock because she wanted to earn her opportunities based on her merits, not because she was related to Rock.

Jax adds that Tamina Snuka has had a great influence on her, and even though they’re on separate brands Tamina has still kept in touch. They both hope to meet in the ring someday, perhaps at WrestleMania, where they can show the world what they can do. She says it was great to get a taste of that when they met at Survivor Series, and she was thrilled with the crowd’s reaction to that.

Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin interfered during a match for Bar Wrestling this week in Los Angeles California.

The match saw Joey Ryan, Candace LaRae and Dick Justice vs. Peter Avalon, Ray Rosas and former WWE Superstar Hornswoggle. Culkin threw marbles into the ring before climbing up the top rope and connecting with a fly splash on Hornswoggle. The crowd in attendance chanted “Home Alone” during the incident.

This didn’t sit very well with Hornswoggle, who spoke to TMZ about the spot. Hornswoggle told Culkin this is his world and aint Hollywood, b****!”

Favorite match on main roster: “I would definitely have to say it would be my Wrestlemania match against them (Charlotte and Becky Lynch). Just because of what it meant. We were introducing the Raw Women’s Championship and to find out that we wouldn’t be called Divas anymore and we’re going to be called superstars meant something so special to me. I always dreamt of changing the Divas title to the RAW women’s title because I didn’t want to have the butterfly championship anymore. To change the whole division, what it meant and represents, that is so huge and I remember crying when Triple H and Stephanie told us that we’re going to be superstars now.”

If it was a ‘deja vu’ moment for her when Paige returned to WWE: “You could say that because there were three of them. But before that, Paige was with Charlotte and Becky and I was with Team Bad so it felt more like someone was trying to steal my spotlight again. Because Paige was gone for a whole year while I was here breaking down doors, creating history. But welcome back, Paige.”

Meeting Kavita Devi: “I just met her today and she was so sweet and incredible. It’s so amazing to see women all over the world and making it to the WWE and especially for her it’s huge because she’s the first ever Indian woman to sign. We got a little taste of her during the Mae Young Classic but you know, it’s going to be a long journey for her. I’m sure she’s going to inspire a lot of young women and show Indian fans that if you have a dream, you can accomplish anything. So I look forward to her journey and Best of Luck to her.”

Matches with Charlotte Flair: “There have been so many. We’ve gone at each other since our NXT days. It’s been non-stop and we’ve had this rivalry that just no one really can touch. From the Hell in a Cell match to multiple main-events on Monday Night Raw to a Falls Count Anywhere match, it were all was so crazy. I really got my revenge on her with that Kendo Stick. It felt so good. That’s for all those chops, Charlotte. And then I went on to win my second championship. So yes, it was one of my best matches.”

As previously reported, Chris Jericho attacked Kenny Omega at NJPW’s World Tag League Final show as part of the build to their Wrestle Kingdom 12 match next month.

Jericho posted a new video on Instagram where he formally introduces himself to Omega and says that the attack was both a warning and introduction of what Omega can expect to happen to him at Wrestle Kingdom.

The Rock broke the world record a couple days ago for the most cereal boxes in one place with 30,000 boxes as part of a charity to assist Puerto Rico. The cereal will be going to the Commonwealth to assist it as it continues to recover from Hurricane Maria earlier this year.

Triple H recently spoke with NBC Sports to promote Saturday’s NXT Takeover: War Games event. Here are some highlights:

How they finally decided to do a WarGames match: “For me WarGames has always been a very viable concept. It wasn’t just a name, it was a branding of a match that was meaningful in WCW. It’s something I’ve always had interest in. I’ve always liked the concept as a fan. As we move forward with NXT, it’s really started to become its own brand. We’ve had opportunities to do different things, whether that is ladder matches, or cage matches. But there was an opportunity that came along, given the weekend with Survivor Series and given the position [NXT] is in to brand something out and create something that NXT could own. It seemed like the perfect time to bring it out, so I dusted it off. Throughout the years, I was aware of Vince’s feelings about it. There were some things about that match that he liked and there were some things about the concept that he didn’t necessarily think worked, especially in today’s world. So I brought it back up to him and we walked through the process and I said here’s the way I think we can make this match work for us and he liked it, agreed with it, thought it worked great for NXT and was real happy to do it. So here we are.”

His goal for the match: “When you do this, the goal is not to go backwards. My goal isn’t to make people go, ‘Oh, is this as good as it was back then?’ I want to put a slightly different spin on it, so that it begins again and takes a life of its own because it can’t be what it was. I grew up watching it in the Dusty [Rhodes], [Ric] Flair, Four Horseman vs. the world sort of iteration of it and this cannot be that. It has to be today’s version of it. Hopefully it’ll be something that our fan base really enjoys. I think the NXT fans are going to love it. I know the talent is very excited about it. When we announced the match and word began to spread on the Internet, a bunch of main roster talent came to me and said, ‘oh my God, you’re doing WarGames? Anyway I can do something in that?’ For me, it’s also a cool nod to Dream [‘The American Dream’ Dusty Rhodes]. It’s cool that his vision is able to continue.”

The complexity of the match: “There is some complexity to it, even though there are some people saying, ‘But it’s three teams, it isn’t the same as it originally was.’ The thing is we don’t have the Four Horseman, with a manger, to make a five-man team. It convoluted the concept to me if you hogedpodge things together. When the stories logically go to the next place and they just kind of connect together, that’s when they’re the best and I feel like that’s how this happened. Once we knew we were going to do it, it organically started to come together. You have Authors of Pain, you have Sanity, you have the Undisputed Era. There’s a three-way thing that is combustible and needs to be solved inside a double cage … what other way would you solve it? (Laughs) So you organically get there and then there were some logistical ways to figure out the issues that were created by the concept. For example, someone could say, ‘well, why doesn’t the rest of the team just run out and try to get into the cage?’ Well they can’t because they’re in this other cage. Hopefully this becomes a yearly event. Is this exact iteration of what we’ll see in the future? I don’t know. I hope so, but if there’s something in this that doesn’t work, then we’ll tweak it a little and try to perfect it. Everything goes through its little changes in the beginning and then where it ends up you just kind of naturally end up and you forget about those little changes that happen over time. When you go back and look at them 10 years later you might go, ‘oh my God, I forgot that they started it that way.’ I’m really excited. I know the NXT locker room is really excited about doing this. There’s something really cool about being a part of something that’s historic, but making it new and making it the future. I think it’s a good opportunity. I think everyone is feeling the weight of that. The TakeOver events are always kind of special for the NXT talent because they’re not often and they really encompass the storylines together, but this one seems to have more weight than normal, even for the people who aren’t in the WarGames match itself.”

The Undisputed Era: “I think they’re talented guys. You’re never 100 percent sure with anybody who walks in the door, but there are certain talent that you see come in who have an innate ability right away. Are there things we have to work on with them? Absolutely, they’re learning every day. The one thing I liked about those guys and why I was confident in ‘giving them the ball right off of the bat’ is because when we spoke and talked about things, they absorbed it. They’re sponges. They’re students of this. They want to learn. They’re not walking in the door going, ‘I know, I know how to do this.’ They’re walking in the door going ‘Wow, I have this opportunity to work with Shawn Michaels at the Performance Center, or with Terry Taylor, or this person, or that person.’ They can learn TV production from all of these different people. They are wide open to it. To me, that’s what makes you successful. It’s the guys that walk in going ‘ah, I got this’ that make it difficult. When you have someone who just wants to be a student, wants to learn and wants to, no matter how good they are, just take their ability to a whole other level. In this business, you constantly have to be willing to morph, grow, and think differently because it’s the nature of the beast. There are guys who have that hunger and desire to constantly evolve and you can see it from the first time you speak to them.”

While speaking to The Hollywood Report, The Rock’s daughter Simone Garcia Johnson revealed that she has plans to follow in her father’s footsteps and become a professional wrestler after she finishes college.

“It’s a sport that is unlike anything else in the world. There’s just a certain amount of passion that every move and match requires, and that’s so admirable. It’s definitely something I’ve thought about and want to pursue.”

If she does go into wrestling, she’d be the first fourth-generation wrestler.
