Stephanie McMahon revealed in the opening segment of tonight’s episode of RAW that Alexa Bliss would be defending her Women’s Championship in the Women’s Elimination Chamber match next month. Stephanie did not reveal the participants for the match.

Taz opens today’s show speaking about last night’s episode of Monday Night RAW. He tips his cap to WWE for putting on a great show last night which featured a number of significant matches, and all of those matches delivered on all accounts.

He thought WWE showed a great amount of class by opening last night’s show with a moment of silence after the tragic events that occurred in Las Vegas on Sunday night. He says that WWE always does the right thing when these kind of tragedies occur, and last night was no exception.

Taz says that while he had no issue with the backstage interview featuring Enzo Amore, he didn’t like the fact that WWE completely ignored all the events that occurred on 205 last week when Amore attacked Neville with his crutch. For the second straight week Amore and the cruiserweights main-evented RAW, and this tells Taz that Amore’s closing segment from last week probably drew a reasonable number of viewers.

Ring of Honor sent out a press release announcing that “The American Nightmare” Cody has signed with the company.

The official signing of this contract will take place tonight at the ROH Television Tapings at Sam’s Town in Las Vegas and it will air in October. The announcement also mentions that Cody’s contract with the promotion would be exclusive and it’s for a the “next several years.”

Cody Rhodes will continue to work with NJPW, which has a partnership with ROH.

While speaking to Bleacher Report, Sasha Banks talked about the Four Horsewomen storyline and missing out on being at the Mae Young Classic. Sasha mentioned that she wasn’t disappointed about not being there but also had a message for the Four Horsewomen.

“I wasn’t disappointed in that situation at all. I was more disappointed that I didn’t get to come out and support these women who’ve had a dream like I had. I felt like I was part of something so special, making this happen with a bunch of women who came before me. To have an all-women classic, it just gave me goosebumps. I cried when I found out I couldn’t be a part of it. I was over in Australia doing a PR tour. I had Bayley Facetiming and I felt this missing hole. I had to be there. Then finding out I couldn’t go to Las Vegas, because I had to go to Australia for the actual tour, I’m like “what’s going on in this universe?”

“I got to see the picture of our Horsewomen versus the phoney Four Horsewomen. They’re fans of us. That’s why they’re called the Four Horsewomen. Honestly, I do not care. They couldn’t hang in our ring and that’s it.”

Dave Meltzer indicated in the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Ronda Rousey may be at the finals for The Mae Young Classic on September 12th in Las Vegas. Ronda’s friend Shayna Baszler is facing off in the finals against Kairi Sane. It’s very possible that Ronda will take part in furthering the WWE Horsewoman vs. UFC Horsewoman feud.

It’s also worth noting that Ronda has been teasing a big announcement. While it’s not known exactly what the announcement will be, it’s very possible that it could be WWE-related. We will keep you updated.

Kairi Sane sustained a concussion during the Mae Young Classic tapings back on July 13th, according to Pro Wrestling Sheet.

As of this writing, it’s unknown exactly which match the injury occurred or how it went down. It’s also being said that she is dealing with some neck pain. Company officials expect her to be cleared early August. The concussion shouldn’t stop her from wrestling in September at the finals in Las Vegas.
