Anthem Sports Refusing to Negotiate with The Hardy Boyz

It doesn’t look like you will see the “BROKEN” gimmick being used by Matt and Jeff Hardy on WWE programming anytime soon, as Anthem no longer wants to negotiate with The Hardy Boyz anymore.

While speaking to Sports Illustrated, Anthem’s Ed Nordholm touched based on the on-going issues between Anthem Sports and the rights to the “BROKEN” gimmick. When asked if The Hardy Boyz initial investment of $3000 into the gimmick would change the dynamic of the ownership, Nordholm explained why he doesn’t think it does.

“No. The company spent millions of dollars producing television last year, including all of the shows that incorporate the various aspects of the “Broken Brilliance.” I don’t know whether Jeff and Matt had some out-of-pocket expenses that they might have had on the volcano and the like, but that would not change, in any way, shape, or form, what their contracts say about who owns the IP. If they had some out-of-pocket expenses, they certainly never brought them to my attention. To suggest that they somehow funded the show is absurd.”

When asked about the possibly selling the intellectual property, Nordholm revealed that the door has been shut on The Hardy Boyz and they never plan on negotiating with them again.

“I’ve stopped thinking about this. We have a show to put on, and a company and a brand. We’ve got things on our plate that are more important than sorting out the “Broken Brilliance.” I made a genuine effort to resolve something to benefit the Hardys as a goodwill gesture to Matt. It didn’t reach a conclusion and we’re moving on. We’re not going back to it, I’m not interested in opening a new dialogue, I’m not interested in opening another conversation about it. We made our best effort, it didn’t happen, and I’m not going to negotiate all over again.”

Reby Hardy Continues to Blast Jeff Jarrett — He’s Burning Through Karen’s Alimony Money

Reby Hardy responded to a remark made by Twitter user @KingCrump83 that if it wasn’t for her recent trash talking the legal battle over the “BROKEN” gimmick would have been resolved by now.

“Some people say that if it wasn’t for @RebyHardy talking trash all the time, GFW would have signed off on the contract already. I dont know.”

Hardy responded to these remarks with a series of tweets on Twitter. Here is what she wrote:

“If they were going to, they would have LONG BEFORE I ever said anything again. My recent speaking out was after the last straw for us… after weeks of staying quiet, as per our verbal agreement that was made once Billy & our lawyers reached out to them on our behalf… Apparently they couldn’t hold up their end of it, with Jeff, Ed & Dutch continuing to give interviews & lie to anyone would who listen… For what ? EGO; that’s what this is all about. TNA gains NOTHING they didn’t already have by putting us through this mess… attempting to prevent us from making money ? Trying to shut down an entire ROH PPV ? Yeah, we haven’t forgotten about that… but they want you to, as they gloat of ‘building bridges’ to detract from the fact that they can no longer fund their own programming… Lets keep it real; Jeff Jarrett burns bridges like he burns through Kurt Angle’s alimony money. They were never going to cooperate… regardless of how many chances we gave them to do things amicably/the right way. And there were MANY… Jarrett himself said they were going to ‘drag it out as long as possible’ because ‘they’ll get tired of spending money’… Easy for a failing company & someone whose lifestyle is supported by his wife’s ex husband to say. You weak AF, little man… The ONLY thing we’re tired of are the blatant lies & we will NEVER back down. Even tho we’ve ALREADY WON. #NoCredEd #f***ThatOwl”

The Taz Show Recap – RAW Analysis, Angle & Jordan Storyline Feels Strange, Tweaking Cass As A Heel, More!

Block 1:

Taz opens today’s show speaking about last night’s episode of RAW.

Taz thinks the progression of this Kurt Angle/Jason Jordan storyline is getting a little strange. The storyline as a whole doesn’t bother him, but he way Angle and Jordan are performing is really weird right now. Taz thinks there’s another part of this story that hasn’t been revealed yet, and a part of him thought Jordan was actually going to turn heel during his debut RAW match last night.

Taz also thinks that WWE should change up Jordan’s ring gear. He doesn’t think Jordan should be using the red, white and blue colours for his entrance or for his ring gear. Instead, he should use gold as his primary colour, so there’ll still be a connection to Angle while he establishes his own brand as well.

A listener calls into the show and asks Taz how he’d fantasy book a Shield reunion. Taz says he wouldn’t book a Shield reunion at all, and he wishes WWE would stop teasing it. He wouldn’t have even had Ambrose and Rollins team up last night, because he doesn’t see a reason to reunite those three men. They’ve all gone out on their own and have become singles stars, so there’s no reason to reunite them right now.

Another listener calls into the show and talks about how good Roman Reigns is at selling, especially for a big man. Taz agrees entirely and says that selling is just another thing that Reigns does not get enough credit for.

WWE 205 Live Results – July 25 2017

Welcome to the fastest hour on television, 205 Live!

Tonight’s show features the Cruiserweight Champion, King Neville in action in the main event! Neville faces Ariya Daivari, a man who has made a name for himself recently by destroying Akira Tozawa. Last night, Daivari attacked Tozawa again but this time, he also took the fight to Neville! The audacity! Daivari clearly believes he is on the Neville level and tonight he has a chance to prove it. I could easily see a scenario in which Tozawa interferes tonight and we end up with a Triple Threat at SummerSlam, although that might leave us with too many multi-man matches at the summer showcase.

Also on tonight’s 205 Live, TJP and Rich Swann continue their seemingly friendly battle for supremacy as they partake in tag team action, albeit on separate teams. TJP teams with Tony Nese tonight to take on Rich Swann and Cedric Alexander, in which should be a great match.

I’d also expect to see Noam Dar, Mustafa Ali, Drew Gulak, Brian Kendrick and Jack Gallagher on tonight’s show. Let us know what you’re excited to see, or not excited to see, on the free Ringside Talk app and remember to enjoy the show!

Vince Russo’s The Brand Recap – Battleground Analysis, Corbin’s Sloppiness, WWE Dropping the Ball with Rusev, More!

Russo is joined on today’s show by Skull Von Crush (Big Vito), his old co-host from Vicious Vincent’s World of Wrestling in the early 90’s. They will discuss Sunday’s Battleground PPV.

Russo says that without entertaining characters and in depth storylines, these shows are just full ok fake fights. That’s not what made him a fan of wrestling many years ago, and he believes that’s a big reason why so many mainstream fans have left the product over the last several years.

He thought the opening match of the show between The Usos and The New Day was a very exciting match and all the guys worked hard, but they started the show at such a high octane pace, that it almost made it impossible to follow. He also says the one superkick that was delivered to Xavier Woods from across the ring looked incredible and it looked like it should have legitimately killed him. Having him kick out of a spot like that doesn’t do anything good for the business.

Vito says that he agrees entirely and he felt that this match negatively affected the matches that followed. He thought the match between A.J. Styles and Kevin Owens was the worst match he’s ever seen Styles work, and that should never be the case because Owens is a good worker as well. The finish of this match was so anti-climatic after all the false finishes we saw in the opening match of the show.

The Rock Says He’s Proud of Nia Jax

It is no secret that WWE Superstar Nia Jax and The Rock are cousins. The Rock has shown his support to his cousin a number of times before.

Here’s a relatively older video of The Rock putting over Nia Jax:

The Rock has stated that Jax has the potential to be the most dominant female athlete in the history of the WWE. Here’s something The Rock wrote along with the video given above in an Instagram post from December last year:

“She ain’t like most girls. Me and my cuz @niajaxwwe (Lina) layin’ down our post workout ?. Really proud of the hard work she’s putting in 24/7 to become a real asset and draw for the WWE and their Women’s Division which has some of the best female athletes on the planet. Luv spending hours with her chopping it up because she’s so coachable & enthusiastic to learn the wrestling business inside and out from me. But what I’m most proud of about Lina’s journey is she represents millions of young girls around the world who don’t fit the “traditional mould” of what girls in the entertainment industry look like. She’s an inspiring example that regardless of your look, height, weight, race, the most powerful thing you can always be is yourself. Because you’re perfect. Just keep putting in that hard work and being humble and hungry. We’re all rooting for ya. #IronParadise #NiaJax#FutureWWEWomensChamp #WhyBeLikeMostGirls #WhenYouCanBeYourself ??”

Once again, the Great One has taken to Twitter to praise his cousin and her progress in the company.

Jax posted this tweet after last night’s episode of Monday Night RAW:

To this, The Rock replied:

What do you think about this great altercation? Sound off below in the comments!

X-Pac 1, 2, 360 Recap w/ Alex Riley – WWE Release, Pursuing A Career in Acting, Will He Wrestle Again? More!

X-Pac opens today’s show speaking about Shane McMahon’s forced helicopter landing from last week. He says that it didn’t surprise him for a second that Shane came out of that incident uninjured, and it was amazing to see how calm Shane was when he was being interviewed after the fact.

Speaking about last Monday night’s revelation that Jason Jordan is Kurt Angle’s son, X-Pac says for a minute he thought the whole thing might have been a shoot. He says that Angle is known to have had relationships with African American women in the past, and the age gap definitely works out.

X-Pac welcomes Kevin Kiley Jr. (Alex Riley) to the show.

Riley says that he was always a big fan of X-Pac from his time in WWE during the attitude era, and X-Pac always came off as a very real character who had a natural confidence in himself. X-Pac thanks him and says that he was never one to cut a masterful promo, but he was able to make his character work in different ways.

Riley informs that after he parted ways with WWE he immediately wanted to pursue acting. He says that his short stint at broadcasting in NXT was fun, but at the end of the day he wanted to venture out on his own. He was lucky to garner some interest in Hollywood right away and he soon landed a role in the Netflix series GLOW.
