Dave Meltzer reported in the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Ronda Rousey is virtually a “lock” to be at WrestleMania 34 next year and possibly even the Royal Rumble if she’s ready.

It was previoiusly reported that Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir are no longer training for a career in professional wrestling, so the Four Horsewomen vs. Four Horsewoman storyline is nixed. If Rousey was to step into the ring and wrestle, much of how she is booked will depend on if she signed a one-and-done deal with WWE or if she signs on something more long-term. Opponents discussed for her are Charlotte Flair or Asuka.

Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that WWE has released NXT trainee Leo Gao from his contract today. WWE hired him after a tryout in China. Regarding why he was released, it’s being said that it was injury-related.

Gao hurt his neck during training back in August and while he was cleared for limited work in the ring, the injury is said to be very serious. While Goa never appeared on WWE television, he was one of the favorites at the WWE Performance Center.

WWE announced that Shayna Baszler has begun training at the WWE Performance Center. WWE published the following quote from Baszler about her transition from mixed martial arts to professional wrestling:

“It’s very serious to me and, in some ways, a lot more important [than MMA] based on where I come from. Waving the banner of my coaches is a heavy flag to wield, so it’s something I take very serious. Because of that, I wanted to start at the beginning and show that I’m willing to start at the bottom and prove myself and work my way up, so there’s no excuse when I get here and I’m breaking these girls in half. I didn’t get any ‘gimmes.’”

It was reported back on Monday that Paige has returned to the WWE Performance Center to begin her training for the WWE comeback. Doctors have cleared her and it’s only a matter of time before she returns to WWE, presumably the SmackDown Live brand.

Paige has come a long way since photos surfaced of her a few months back where many were questioning her health.
