WWE Studios Marine franchise is getting yet another sequal. It was announced today that Becky Lynch, The Miz, and Shawn Michaels will star in The Marine 6: Close Quarters. The film is scheduled to begin filming in early 2018, with a release date tentatively scheduled or May or 2018.

(November 22, 2017) – WWE Studios and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions (SPWA) today announced that the two studios will partner again to release the upcoming action film The Marine 6: Close Quarters, directed by James Nunn (The Marine 5: Battleground, Eliminators). The film will feature WWE Superstars The Miz and Becky Lynch, and WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels, and is set to begin production on Monday, November 27 in London.

When Jake Carter (The Miz) and fellow Marine Luke Trapper (Shawn Michaels) stumble upon a kidnapped girl being held prisoner by a dangerous gang of international criminals, they find themselves in the crosshairs as they try to save the girl and bring her kidnappers to justice.

“The Marine series continues to deliver action-packed entertainment to our fans, and we are excited to partner again with Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions and director James Nunn to bring The Marine 6: Close Quarters to a global audience” said Michael Luisi, President of WWE Studios. “The motion picture debut of the talented Becky Lynch and the addition of Shawn Michaels to the series, alongside The Miz, is sure to bring the excitement and action to the next level.”

The film is written by Craig Walendziak.

As seen at Sunday’s WWE TLC event, Braun Strowman turned on his team and attacked Kane, Cesaro, Sheamus, and The Miz in the main event match.

Dave Meltzer discussed this angle on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio and mentioned that WWE is turning Braun Strowman babyface and that’s the reason WWE did this spot. The idea is that the company can have fresh matches with Braun as a babyface character.

Kevin Owens Update

As we reported yesterday, Kevin Owens was pulled from the current SmackDown Live South American tour and sent home early. All WWE said was that Owens left the tour early due to personal reasons. Owens himself took to Twitter earlier today to give everyone an update.

Alexa Bliss Talks WWE’s Main Roster

In a recent interview hyping her WWE TLC match with Mickie James, Alexa Bliss talked about her reaction at being called up to WWE’s main roster.

“Opportunities, you have to make the most of them. You have to run with it. And I know I was one of the most underwhelming draft picks because I hadn’t done much on NXT. I hadn’t had a TakeOver match. I hadn’t won the title. I had valeted the majority of my career. And I knew I just had to just kick down the door.”

She also talked about continually trying to improve in the ring.

“I’m still working on my in-ring ability. I know I’m not the best in [the] ring. I try to get better with every match. I go to the [WWE Performance Center] and try to refresh my skills and learn new ones and bring that into my matches.”

Dave Meltzer speculated in the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Braun Strowman could possibly be included in The Shield reunion match. Meltzer says that he could either replace The Miz or just be added to the match making it a 4-on-3 handicap match.

If Strowman replaces The Miz in the match, it would open up an Intercontinental title match on the card. Meltzer believes that Strowman’s has interacted with Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins over the last two weeks makes one of these possibilities very likely.

At first, TJP wanted to “one-up” his friend in everything he did, and more recently, TJP appeared to suffer a knee injury that Swann was unaware of, however he bounced back unbeknownst to Swann. The two have been going back and forth for months now and it became clear that their rivalry was anything but friendly. Tonight, TJP and Rich Swann throw down in Sin City to determine who gets bragging rights.

Last night on Raw, Enzo Amore was a guest on Miz TV, but he appeared early, interrupting The Miz and Maryse’s baby announcement. The two then had an impromptu match, which Enzo won by disqualification, but he paid the price as The Miz and The Miztourage had their way with him afterwards. After the match, Enzo was confronted by WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville, who simply laughed at his WWE No Mercy challenger. Can Enzo prove himself worthy ahead of No Mercy?

The Miz has had a rocky few months, but he shared a bit of good news (for him) on his Instagram this week. According to his Instagram, and confirmed by WWE, he’s now the sixth-longest reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion, passing The Ultimate Warrior on his way to breaking the top five.

A year ago this month, Miz’s fiery promo on Talking Smack to Daniel Bryan made him one of Smackdown Live’s hottest heels and made Talking Smack a can’t-miss part of WWE’s weekly programming. The Miz is an incredible heel when he’s given a chance to shine. He’s had a rocky 2017, though, only just beginning to shake off the stop-start feud with Dean Ambrose for the IC Title that brought both of them over to Raw.

The addition of the Miztourage in Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas has revitalized both men’s prospects on Raw and gone a long way in showcasing what a fantastic, weaselly heel The Miz can be when given a little direction and a fresh young face to put over (this time in the form of Jason Jordon-Angle). The Miz deserves more recognition for his IC Title reigns, and it would be exciting to see WWE give him a chance to hold on to the belt long enough to at least crack the top five list. He’s only got to hold on to it for another week to surpass Razor Ramon … but there are only three days left til the next Raw.

As previously reported, The Hardy Boyz will be teaming with Jason Jordan to face The Miztourage on Sunday’s SummerSlam Kickoff Pre-show.

This apparently didn’t sit well with The Miz and he is blaming it on RAW General Manager as the reason to why the Intercontinental title isn’t being defended on the SummerSlam card. He also claims that Kurt Angle is holding him back.

It was previously reported that The Miz vs. Jason Jordan for the Intercontinental Title was one of the matches WWE had in mind for the upcoming SummerSlam event, however that may not be the case anymore.

Dave Meltzer indicated that the match is not actually in the current plans for the show and they may be holding off for it to take place at a later date. The belief is that they don’t want to rush the match too soon, especially on an event that already has a loaded card.
