Lucha Underground talent Brian Cage is backstage at tonight’s Impact Wrestling tapings in Orlando, Florida at Universal Studios.

Cage has been rumored to work for the company for several months now and he was recently asking fans if they would be interested in seeing him work for Impact.

Konnan announced on Twitter that former WWE writer Vince Russo will be part of Aro Lucha as a script consultant.

Russo previously worked for WWE during the Attitude Era between 1992-1999. After his departure from the company, he went and worked for WCW between 1999-2000. He was also part of the writing team for TNA on several occasions.

It was being speculated earlier today that NXT Superstar Lio Rush may be done with the company after he removed several references of WWE from his Twitter profile.

It looks like Rush may actually be sticking around as he appeared at tonight’s NXT Live Event in LakeLand, Florida and actually won his match. You can check out photos from his appearance below:

According to PWInsider, the company pitched the idea of doing a pre-tape segment with Grado at the Bound for Glory event for Santino Marella’s debut with the company. It’s being said that Santino actually declined the segment so instead they did a cameo where he just sat at ringside in the first row.

In regards to Santino actually wrestling a match, it seems highly unlikely as he’s retired from professional wrestling due to a neck injury. While not confirmed, it’s possible that he just portrays an on-air character if the company decides to use him in the future.

With all the recent departures from Impact Wrestling, it looks like the company is looking to bring in some fresh names.

According to PWInsider, the company has had some “recent negotiations” with Ricochet, who won the PWG Championship over Chuck Taylor last weekend. Additionally, they are also looking to bring in Tessa Blanchard, who could begin with the company as soon as the post-PPV tapings begin.

As noted, Mauro Ranallo revealed on Instragram that he is returning to WWE under the NXT brand as part of the commentary team. Mauro also mentioned on Twitter that he will be making his NXT debut this Friday at Full Sail University, as the company is set to tape several week’s of television.

He sent out the following tweet, thanking others for making his return to the company happen:

Former Impact wrestler mentioned on Twitter that he almost “hung it up” but teased that it’s now “time to TakeOver.” This has led to online speculation that he may have signed with WWE.

It’s worth noting that at last word, Gunner was on WWE’s radar. The belief was that if he passed a WWE physical, the company would probably sign him to deal. We will keep you updated on his status.
