While speaking to William Mullally, The New Day talked about their promos and Kofi Kingston mentioned that they pretty much say whatever they want to say when they go out in front of the live audience.

“A lot of times, when we are given stuff to say, we just say what we want to say. As long as it hits… that is all Vince cares about. Even when he doesn’t agree with what we want to say, he looks at the crowd, sees everyone having a good time and trusts that we’re able to deliver.”

Big E would then go on to explain that it took a lot of hard work and a lot of time to earn the trust to be able to do what they do.

While speaking to Monster, Chris Jericho discussed his relationship with Vince McMahon and mentioned that it took years to develop what he has with his boss.

“The relationship I have with Vince now—and I think of us as friends—took years to develop. When you’re working with someone who’s at the top of their game, they are really complex, and it’s not possible to gain their trust and respect overnight. You can’t rush it.

“It helps to put yourself in the shoes of someone who’s been a boss for a long time. How many people have worked for him in the past, and how many have not worked out? He, or she, is looking for someone who will stand the test of time. So try to be that person.”
