Here are some backstage notes from tonight’s Impact Wrestling tapings, courtesy of PWInsider:

* The company held a talent meeting before the tapings. Talents had to a chance to ask management any questions they had.

* Austin Aries was hidden backstage and came out in street clothes just before he was set to return.

* Sonjay Dutt was not backstage due to his ankle injury.

* Tommy Dreamer was helping out as a producer for the show.

* Kiera Hogan and former WWE referee Marc Harris officially began with the company tonight.

LAX member Homicide did appear at last week’s Global Force Wrestling television tapings and we can confirm he’s not injured.

PWInsider reports that the company opted to not bring him in because they felt he wasn’t needed to help further the current storyline involving LAX GFW officials were much more judicious with how many talents they brought in for these tapings. There were a number of talents based out of the Northeast that were not brought in to tape the twelve episodes.

Here are some highlights from Triple H’s recent media call to hype Saturday’s NXT Takeover event:

Vince Getting Excited About NXT Talents & How They Decide ti bring Them Up: “I think there’s excitement, there’s a lot of talent that [Vince] will say on an occasional basis, ‘Where are you at with this particular person? When do I get them?’ You know what I mean? It’s my job to then creatively work with the team both main roster and my own team to say when is the right strategic time to put the person into the right place that they need to go to so they have the best opportunity in front of them and to make sure they’re ready.”

Deciding Who To Call Up & When: “And it’s funny because sometimes I’ll see people think or say, ‘Oh my God, this person has been so ready for so long.’ They don’t know the things that they’re missing that we can see from our side of it to say, ‘I need you another three months and this is what I really need you to focus on. I don’t want you to fail on this one piece whenever you get up there, whatever that is.’ There’s a lot of components that go into this and yeah, we have those conversations. And [Vince] gives me the opinion and the stuff and listens to my opinions. Sometimes there’s stuff he sees on the shows.”

Wanting NXT Talents to Succeed: “I want it to be the best it can possibly be. Not only for the roster, for RAW, whatever that is. But I want it to be the best for any of these talents. I want them all to succeed at the biggest level they can. Granted, they’re not all going to do that. They all can’t be the main event at WrestleMania but I want them all to have the opportunity when they move up to the roster because whatever it is, whatever the opportunity is, whether it’s big or small, as long as we give them the tools to do that then whatever’s going to happen, is going to happen.”

Dave Metlzer discussed Adam Cole’s status in the latest installment of Wrestling Observer Live and indicated that he could be arriving to the company any time now.

Meltzer speculates that Cole will head to the NXT brand and could possibly debut at the upcoming NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III event. Cole has been rumored to debut for the company ever since he let his contract with Ring of Honor run out on May 1st.

There is a new policy within WWE were talents from ROH are not allowed to debut for the company until a 90-period runs out. With Takeover taking place on August 19th, this would meet the required waiting period for his debut.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that most of the talent that has signed with Global Force Wrestling are forced to give the company a ten percent cut of all their independent date money.

Also, talents will not receive a cut from any merchandise sold with their likenesses that is sold directly by Global Force Wrestling.

PWInsider reports that WWE held talent meetings at this week’s RAW and SmackDown tapings to discuss ways to prevent explicit and private material from leaking on the internet.

The meeting was mandatory and was basically a class on cyber security threats. The company brought in an expert from a cyber security firm and give a presentation to the roster. The expert went over different ways that talents could be tricked into inadvertently allow their security to be breached. One of the things discussed was not the accept USB drives as gifts, even if they were from beautiful women promising naked photos. This one was scenario that happened to several celebrities in the past. They also went over ways to as to how the talent should handle themselves online, as they are in the public eye.

The meeting closed with the company gaving out an amendment to their social media policy for talents to sign and stressed that no one but talents and the WWE social media teams should have access to their social media accounts.
