Rumored Matches for This Year’s SummerSlam Event
The following matches are being rumored for this year’s SummerSlam event, courtesy of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter
Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman
John Cena vs. Jinder Mahal
Triple H vs. Kurt Angle
With WWE holding for back-to-back shows in the row at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, they are expecting to make this show as big as possible. Those events include NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III on August 19th, SummerSlam on the 20th, RAW on the 21st and SmackDown Live on the 22nd.
Reason Why WWE Split Up DIY at NXT Takeover
As seen at Saturday’s WWE NXT Takeover: Chicago event, WWE did an angle that saw Tommaso Ciampa attack his partner Johnny Gargano after their loss to Authors of Pain for the NXT Championship.
Dave Meltzer discussed the incident on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio and indicated that the two are headed to the main roster soon. This is the reason they decided to split them as the company didn’t want to bring them to the main roster as a tag team.
Ember Moon Out of Action for Six Months
WWE aired footage during tonight’s NXT Takeover pre-show of Ember Moon talking about her injury and revealed that she will miss up to six months of in-ring action on NXT. She mentioned that she is thankful that the injury wasn’t more serious or even fatal.
Ember indicated that she would be going after the NXT Women’s Championship once she returns.

Pete Dunne Reacts to Winning The UK Championship Title
As seen on tonight’s NXT Takeover: Chicago event, Pete Dunne defeated Tyler Bate to capture the WWE UK Championship Title. Dunne reacted to his championship victory with the following:
3 years ago I sat in the allstate arena watching RAW after flying myself out to the US. Tonight I won a @WWE title in the same building.
