Bad Sign for WWE Great Balls of Fire

Sunday’s WWE Great Balls of Fire event has not sold out yet and this isn’t a good sign especially with the likes of Brock Lesnar appearing on the card.

According to TicketIQ there are hundreds of seats are still available on Ticketmaster with prices ranging from $25-$700. On the secondary market, tickets have an average price of $148 with cheapest ticket available costing $42.

It will be interesting to see if the event will sellout within the next six days.

WWE Monday Night Raw Results – July 3 2017

Welcome to the final edition of Monday Night Raw before Sunday’s Great Balls of Fire PPV!

Tonight’s show is anchored by the return of Brock Lesnar, who will defend his Universal Championship for the first time since WrestleMania on Sunday. Lesnar has had to sit back and watch as Samoa Joe took centre stage for this feud and even attacked his advocate Paul Heyman. So Lesnar decided to pay Joe a visit and was promptly choked down by the Samoan Bulldozer! One week from the huge showdown, Lesnar will definitely want to regain some momentum, meanwhile Samoa Joe is on the roll of a lifetime and fans are hungry for more!

Speaking of being hungry and never satisfied, Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns will also have a gargantuan showdown at Great Balls of Fire – which ironically might be the best card for a terribly named PPV ever. The two big canines will fight for ownership of the back yard in an Ambulance Match and I would be shocked if we didn’t see said ambulance come into play one more time this week, seeing as Braun threw Roman into it last week and sent him packing. Fans will hope to see more of the same this week.

Last week’s main event saw Sasha Banks defeat the seemingly unstoppable Nia Jax, who had already bested Emma, Mickie James, Dana Brooke, and Bayley, in a Gauntlet Match to become number one contender. Banks’ win was pretty surprising but sets-up an exciting showdown at Great Balls of Fire. The Champion Alexa Bliss came to the ring after the match and shoved her title in Banks’ face but was promptly met with a dropkick to her own dentures! Expect more fireworks tonight ahead of the 4th of July!

Elsewhere on tonight’s show, Enzo Amore was ceremoniously dumped by Big Cass for the second week in a row and it seems inevitable that these two will have a showdown on Sunday night. The match hasn’t yet been announced but surely tonight is the night. And then there’s Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt who’ve done more talking in the past three weeks than Undertaker did in over 30 years, so hopefully we get something more substantial tonight.

All that and more to look forward to on tonight’s show. Don’t forget to check out the Ringside News app, as well as our new Ringside Talk app, which allows you to converse with all your fellow marks! Let us know your thoughts and feelings and enjoy the show!

Injury Suffered at Sunday’s Slammiversary Event

PWInsider reports that Jeremy Borash suffered 25-35 puncture wounds on his wrists and palms after hitting the top rope splash onto thumbtacks during the match with Abyss vs. Scott Steiner and Josh Mathews at Sunday’s Slammiversary event. After the match, Borash received medical attention and had his hands taped up.

Speaking of Borash and Mathews, they are expected to be returning to the announce table for commentary beginning with this week’s TV tapings.

Alberto El Patron Says He’s Going to Retire with Impact Wrestling

While speaking to The Mirror to promote Sunday’s Slammiversary event, Alberto El Patron told the publication that he was very happy with his stay in Impact Wrestling and revealed that he plans to retire with the promotion.

“It was time for Alberto to find a new place, a place to make him love and enjoy wrestling again and IMPACT needed another big star, another big name, and now with the new people in charge, they were able to give me the right offer.

At that point, I joined the company and that is why I am so happy right now. I am going to retire in IMPACT Wrestling because I am just so happy.”

The Ross Report Recap w/ Jason Powell – MITB & RAW Analysis, A.J. Styles vs. Nakamura, Lesnar’s Expiring Contract, More!

Ross congratulates Seth Rollins on being named as the cover Superstar for WWE 2K17. He says that’s a big deal for Rollins personally and professionally, and it’s a big deal in the WWE locker room as well. Ross has heard that the two finalists for the cover were Seth Rollins and A.J. Styles, and he thinks Styles would have been very deserving of the cover as well.

Speaking about Sunday night’s Money in the Bank PPV, Ross thought the St. Louis crowd loved the legends sitting at ringside. He also thinks that Naomi is a very talented performer, and her athleticism allows her to continue to grow as a performer in the ring. It was nice to see her continue her Women’s Championship run at Money in the Bank with a win over Lana.

Ross liked that Mahal got some heat by defeating Randy Orton in his hometown on Sunday. The distraction finish protected Orton and allowed Mahal to continue his momentum. Ross does feel that Mahal needs to pick up a few convincing wins as some point where he can show off his aggressiveness, and he needs to vary his style from time to time.

However, Ross does like where Mahal is headed, and he credits WWE for putting their Championship on him to help build his credibility as rises to prominence within the company.

Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match Announced for Next Week’s SmackDown

Daniel Bryan stripped Carmella of her Women’s Money in the Bank briefcase on tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live. He announced that there will be a rematch on next week’s show with the same competitors as Sunday night.

The following matches are confirmed for next week’s show:

Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match
SmackDown Women’s Championship: Lana vs. Naomi
Sami Zayn vs. Baron Corbin
The Hype Bros vs. The Usos

Possible Spoiler for Tonight’s SmackDown Live Episode

PWInsider reports that Rusev is backstage for tonight’s SmackDown taping in Dayton, Ohio.

While the the website claimed over the weekend that he would be returning to WWE television, they can no longer confirm those are the plans.

Considering that the SmackDown brand just had a pay-per-view on Sunday, many would suggest that the chances of him returning are very high. WWE normally kicks off or follows up to feuds after most pay-per-view events, so now would be the time for Rusev to inject himself into some sort of storyline.

Rusev had been out since March following shoulder surgery and was recently cleared to return to action.

Speculation On A Sixth Participant In The Women’s Money In The Bank Match

We noted earlier this week that WWE may have spoiled a six participant in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match for Sunday’s event when they mentioned on Twitter that six women would be in the match. Dave Meltzer discussed WWE’s tweet that may have spoiled the match on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio.

Meltzer claims that he reached out to WWE regarding the entry of a six competitor in the match but he said hasn’t received any response back. With the company not responding back to Meltzer, it would be an further indication that a sixth member could be injected into the match. Historically if something is completely false, WWE responds back.

While Meltzer couldn’t specify who the six participant could be, several names speculated for the match include Summer Rae, Page, Lita, Asuka and among others.
