Dave Meltzer reported in the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE is planning on holding an NXT Takeover event during Money in the Bank weekend.

The event will be held at the Allstate Arena in Chicago on June 16th the day before the MITB event. Traditionally, WWE only holds four Takeover events a year during the same weekend as their “big 4” pay-per-view events. With the Money an the Bank event now being a “dual brand” show, the company now has plans to add a fifth Takeover event next year.

Here is the pay-per-view schedule for 2018:

January 28th — Royal Rumble (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania)
February 25th — Elimination Chamber (Raw PPV in Las Vegas. Nevada)
March 11th — Fastlane (SmackDown PPV in Columbus, Ohio)
April 8th — WrestleMania 34 (New Orleans, Louisiana)
May 6th — Backlash (Raw PPV in Newark, New Jersey)
May 27th — Payback (SmackDown PPV in Baltimore, Maryland)
June 17th — Money in the Bank (Chicago, Illinois)
July 15th — Battleground (Raw PPV in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania)
August 19th — SummerSlam (Brooklyn, New York)
September 16th — Extreme Rules (Raw PPV in San Antonio, Texas)
September 30th — Hell in a Cell (SmackDown PPV in Nashville, Tennessee)
October 21st — TLC (Raw PPV in Boston, Massachusetts)
November 18th — Survivor Series (Los Angeles, California)
December 16th — Clash of Champions (SmackDown PPV in San Jose, California)

According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is not building to a Shane McMahon vs. Daniel Bryan match.

While Shane & Bryan are feuding on SmackDown Live, there is no blow-off match planned for a match between the two because Bryan has not been medically cleared to compete inside a WWE ring. Vince McMahon has made it clear to Bryan that the decision will come from Dr. Joseph Maroon on whether he gets cleared to return or not.

Meltzer mentioned that if he does get cleared, there has been talk about him possibly wrestling at next year’s SummerSlam event and even working a limited schedule after that.

WWE teased that Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn could be headed to RAW in a video they posted on social media during Sunday’s WWE Survivor Series event.

PWInsider reports that there was talk of doing a Superstar Shake up in the fall earlier this year, but it’s uknown of this plans still stand. There was also talk during the summer within the company of putting Owens back on the RAW brand but it quieted pretty quickly. It will be interesting to see in the coming weeks where they go with this storyline.

X-Pac opens today’s show speaking about the seminars he conducted over the weekend. He did two different classes, one for beginners and one for more advanced students. He says he had a great time working with the next generation of Superstars and he credits the quality of the wrestling school which is ran by Ken Anderson and Molly Holly.

He mentions that he was sad to hear about WWE releasing Emma, Darren Young and Summer Rae. Young and Rae haven’t been on WWE television as of late but Young was a part of one of WWE’s charitable events as recently as last week. Emma was also a part of one of WWE’s biggest storylines as of late so her release was a big shock.

Speaking of Emma’s release, X-Pac was shocked to see Lio Rush’s joke on Twitter, making light of Emma’s departure from the company. He says that while this was a terrible mistake, people really piled on Rush and he thought that was unfortunate. X-Pac was one of the first individuals who tweeted back at Rush, saying how dissapointed he was in Rush’s ‘joke’, but he thought things really got blown out of proportion after that.

Summer Rae took to Instagram and released the following statement regarding her release from WWE:

For so many years I dreamt of stepping onto that main stage of Monday Night Raw & then getting into that ring with these strong, beautiful, smart & courageous women. I wanted to be one of them. I knew I could be one of them! I felt it SO deep down in my heart. Once it happened I of course set more goals for myself within the company & trained harder to reach them. But the people that flood my comments with these things that I ‘should have’ gotten — you guys are missing the overall dream that I achieved. That I went to Monday Night RAW as a fan & sat in the crowd & watched the girls & wanted that more than anything I had ever felt in my body ever before. Then, I did it. I did it. Taz opens today’s show speaking about the release of Emma, Darren Young and Summer Rae from WWE. Throughout his lengthy wrestling career Taz encountered some people who weren’t fond of him, and there were other individuals who Taz wasn’t a fan of. In spite of all of that, he never enjoyed seeing those people get released and lose their jobs. It’s never a good day when someone loses their employment.

He assumes that these releases were made in an effort to cut costs as he has heard that WWE plans to cut even more costs as we head into 2018. In spite of what some might think WWE doesn’t have an endless budget, and these releases were probably necessary in order to maintain their talent budget.

He points out that Darren Young and Summer Rae have been off of WWE programming for several months now but Emma has been highlighted in major storylines and just wrestled Asuka on TLC. Emma’s release really surprised Taz because WWE has been semi-pushing Emma and even gave her plenty of offence in her loss to Asuka at TLC.

During tonight’s episode of RAW Talk, Renee Young asked Kurt Angle about when we could expect to see him step back into the ring again.

Angle responded, “I’m going to have to talk to my wife first. She’s probably really upset with me right now. Once I get her approval, we’ll see what else goes on.”

As previously reported, with Angle finally cleared and in-action, it is very possible that he works one of the upcoming big four events — Survivor Series, Royal Rumble, WrestleMania or SummerSlam.

Dave Meltzer indicated on the recent installment of Wrestling Observer Radio that the angle a few weeks ago with Goldust scouting and getting behind a new protege may have been nixed.

Last month Goldust was set to appear at SummerSlam to make an announcement of sorts of an individual that he would be aligning himself with. This angle never happened on the show and WWE has made no mention on television in several weeks. It’s very likely the storyline will be dropped altogether.

It was reported over SummerSlam weekend that Sasha Banks was booed after she came outside her hotel after Saturdays’s NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III event. Banks apparently left her hotel to get some pizza and there were many fans outside. After she retrieved her pizza, she didn’t acknowledge the fans trying to get her attention. They then started to boo her.

While speaking to Sam Roberts for a live podcast, Banks was asked if she has worked on her “airport face” at all. This is where Banks addressed fans who would wait for her at airports and hotels while shes on the road and try to get her to sign groups of of 8″x10″ photos. She accuses these individuals that wait at her hotel or the airports of stalking her.
