Vince McMahon confirmed on Twitter that Ronda Rousey will be at WrestleMania this year. While wishing the former UFC Fighter a ‘Happy Birthday’ on Twitter, he also mentioned that he would see her at Mania’ — seemingly confirming her for the event.

As reported earlier this week, WWE plans to save her in-ring debut for the biggest show of the year. Right now the working plan is for her to be involved in a mixed tag match against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. Braun Strowman and The Rock are possible names for her tag partner in that match.

WWE announced today that Maria Menounos will serve as the special guest ring announcer for the Women’s Royal Rumble match this Sunday.

Here is the announcement:

“The first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble Match already has a special guest commentator in Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon. Now, it has a special ring announcer: Maria Menounos.

The “Extra” host (and WrestleMania veteran) filled in for Kelly Ripa on “Live with Kelly and Michael” earlier today and let slip during an interview with Golden Globe Award winner Rachel Brosnahan (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”) that she will serve as the guest announcer for the inaugural contest.

“Maybe we can throw you in last-minute,” she quipped to Brosnahan. As to whether that happens, there’s only one way to find out. The Royal Rumble event airs at a special start time of 7 ET/4 PT this Sunday, streaming live on the award-winning WWE Network. “

Taz opens today’s show by informing that he’ll be doing a live 3-hour special immediately after the Royal Rumble this Sunday.

Taz says he’s not completely against the idea of Stephanie McMahon joining the commentary team for the Women’s Royal Rumble match. He admits that he’d rather have a different person in that role, but as long as Stephanie doesn’t try to do play-by-play or a colour commentary, he’s okay with it. He thinks she needs to simply be an ambassador of sorts at the commentary desk.

Seth points out that Ronda Rousey is actually the betting favourite to win the Women’s Rumble match right now. Taz thinks some of the higher-ups in WWE actually leak this type of information on purpose in order to generate buzz and anticipation. If Rousey is involved, he doesn’t think WWE is going to put her in there to lose, so he picks Rousey to win this match.

Taz doesn’t think that Stephanie McMahon should be a guest entrant into the Rumble match. He jokes that it’s already bad enough that her husband, Triple H involves himself in every cool angle; she doesn’t need to do the same.

As seen on Monday’s episode of RAW, Stephanie McMahon announced the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble match for next month’s Royal Rumble event.

Dave Meltzer discussed the announcement on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio and speculated that there is a good chance that WWE may bring in Ronda Rousey for the match. While Meltzer didn’t confirm that those were the exact plans, he did speculated that it could happen. If Rousey was to enter the match, many believe that she would leave the event as the winner of first-ever Women’s Rumble.

As previously reported, Ronda has been training at the WWE Performance Center, readying herself for a career with WWE. She was previously rumored to work a program with Charlotte or Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania. There is a chance now that she could enter and win and go on to face SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte at WrestleMania this year or even challenge the RAW Women’s Champion. It remains to be seen.

USAToday reports that Ronda Rousey is finalizing plans to switch her career from UFC to WWE. Although not yet officially announced by WWE, it appears as if Rousey will be making her way to the squared circle in the near future.

Rousey has been rumored for several months to be involved in either a 4 Horsewomen vs. 4 Horsewomen or singles match against Stephanie McMahon or Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34. She has been training recently in California and at the WWE Performance center.

Russo is joined on today’s show by his co-host Jeff Lane, Big Vito and Kenny Bolin.

Russo says WWE proved how dumb they are right at the beginning of RAW this week when the commentators made it known that all the doors to the arena were locked and security was surrounding the building. Russo says this made the RAW Superstars look like ‘pussies’ when in reality, the RAW Superstars should have been furious and should have been begging the Smackdown Live roster to come back so they could get their revenge from last week.

Vito says he liked that Stephanie McMahon opened the show because that was a ratings draw. Russo completely disagrees saying that Stephanie obviously didn’t pop the ratings because this week’s ratings were lower than last week’s. He also says that he hate’s Stephanie’s character because she’s one dimensional and she constantly buries talents without allowing the talents to have a comeback.

Bolin says it was great to see Samoa Joe return on this show, and he’s a big fan of Joe. Before Joe got to WWE Bolin was unaware how great he was at cutting promos, so that has been a pleasant surprise since he started in NXT. He also says that WWE has something great in Joe if they allow him to be the Joe from ROH. Russo says that’s all fine and dandy but Joe needs to stop wearing ‘clown shorts’.

Triple H recently appeared on the  McMahonsplaining Podcast  alongside Stephanie McMahon. There, the King of Kings revealed why he takes pictures with certain up and coming Superstars and not the others.

Here’s how Hunter explained his intentions:

“You know why I take pictures with everybody? Because I’m more famous. When I do that, and I take a picture, just on Twitter alone I got six million people that see it when I tap that picture. I make them something bigger, and that’s the attempt.  When they don’t need it, I don’t stand next to them anymore. When people ask me, ‘Well, why didn’t you stand next to that guy when he won the title on SmackDown?’ He doesn’t need it. He didn’t need that promotion. If I can help them, I help them. If I can take them to another level, I try to take them to another level. That’s what this is all about, creating the future. If I can do that, and help create the future, then I do.”

Hunter ended the issue by saying the following:

“When I don’t need to step into that, I’m happy to step out of it. Trust me, when they come to get me to shoot that picture when I’m pointing at the guy, it is the last thing I possibly want to do at that moment in time, is go take that picture, but I have to do it.”

While speaking with RollingStone, Eva Marie talked about her departure from WWE and teased that she could appear at a SummerSlam or WrestleMania in the future.

“I have such a great relationship with Vince [McMahon], Paul [‘Triple H’ Levesque] and Stephanie [McMahon]. They gave me an opportunity to step away and film these two films I have done already, and you never know when that relationship will come back. So I might appear at a SummerSlam or WrestleMania. It just so happens that the wrestling craft, you have to be able to give yourself 110 percent to that. And then with acting, you have to do the same, so we decided together that with the films going back to back. I’m going to put my efforts into acting and growing that way. And then you never know: All Red Everything could come back and snatch that title.”

“The WWE fanbase is so fantastic. They’re so die-hard, and in the last 10 months, they have been asking, ‘Where is All Red Everything?’ So both our teams came together and decided we need to definitely let the fans know what’s going on.”

Legal issues with Dixie Carter: “I mean, [Dixie Carter] is a joke. She was basically a pain [in the butt]. Talked the truth about Hogan. She dropped the case and we’ll see what happens. It’s not over.”

Favorite TNA moment: “My favorite moment was the Main Event Mafia. The champions were all together, and that was a lot of fun because you had a lot of history in the ring every time we stepped in the ring. A lot of us had been around for a long time, so the stuff that we did backstage, the stuff that didn’t make it on TV was also entertaining and funny. To date, that’s been the highest rated portion of TNA’s existence. A lot of people bought into it because of the reality of everything. It was a lot of fun.”

The differences between Dixie Carter’s management and Jeff Jarrett’s management: “If you talk to anybody, there’s a huge difference. When people see Jeff, they know that he knows what he’s doing. Clearly, everyone knew that Dixie didn’t know what she was doing. She was a mark wanting to be on TV. It’s night and day. People wanna come to work, they’re excited about what everyone is doing, and it is a totally different atmosphere.”

What changes should occur in pro wrestling: “The first change they should make is getting rid of Stephanie McMahon and Hunter McMahon, because they’re two idiots who are running the whole place up there. It’s like, I feel sorry for the wrestlers nowadays. They’ve got to follow the instructions of these two idiots that clearly don’t know what they’re doing. They’re not watching because the ratings are down, and the reason why I call him Hunter McMahon is because she obviously wears the pants.”

Why he’s not going in the WWE Hall of Fame: “I’m not going into the WWE Hall of Fame, because I’m not going somewhere where there’s nowhere to go. GPS the WWE Hall of Fame. Where’s it at? See, I’m not going somewhere where if I get in trouble or something, I can’t call 911. I can’t have a beacon call, or call the coast guard. Cuz, who knows? It could be in Atlantis for all I know. Or it could be in parts unknown. It’s a joke. How can you go somewhere that is non-existent? I’d be better off if the WWE Hall of Fame was on the moon… cancel your reservations if you want to see me, because it’s not happening.”
