Taz opens today’s show by speaking about Jason Jordan’s performance on this week’s RAW. He has been very critical of the entire Jordan/Angle storyline, and he’s been harping on WWE for not turning Jordan heel over the last couple of months.

However, while watching RAW this past week Taz thought Jordan’s promo work and facial expressions were great. Jordan’s portraying a whiny daddy’s boy right now, but he can still kick you ass in the ring so that makes for an interesting dynamic. Taz also thinks there’s great chemistry between Jordan and Seth Rollins, so he’s interested in seeing where that pairing heads in the future.

Taz was very impressed by Samoa Joe’s promo work on RAW this week. He points out that the inflection and tone of Joe’s words are things that Joe controls on his own, and he’s very good at it. Taz thinks Joe is one of the top guys in the company right now on the mic.

Taz recalls people within TNA years ago arguing over which of their stars would be able to succeed in WWE. There was always concern with A.J. Styles’ Southern accent, as well as Samoa Joe’s body type. As it turns out, none of that stuff matters and both of those competitors have seen great success in WWE thus far.

Taz says he’s very happy for Braun Strowman, but he really felt bad for Rhyno and Heath Slater this past week on RAW. They’re both good guys and he wants to see them succeed, so he hopes WWE eventually comes up with a good angle for them, where they can work with each other and make something positive come out of this pairing.

Russo opens today’s show by sending his prayers and best wishes to Ric Flair and his family after Flair was hospitalized over the weekend. Russo says that he doesn’t deal well with sickness and death, and he was absolutely distraught when he heard of Flair’s hospitalization over the weekend.

He says that when he initially left WWE to head to WCW, he was very nervous about the situation he was walking into. WCW was always a traditional Southern promotion, and Russo was concerned with how well he’d fit in there. He was also consumed with the fear of having to work with legends like Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair.

Once Russo got to WCW, he knew he was going to have to make some changes to the roster. Flair, Hogan and the other veterans were all getting up in age, and Russo began to set the table to get them off of television full time in order to make room for younger talents. He wanted to repackage them and transition them into part-time wrestling roles where they could be respected as the legends they were, but he’s pretty sure that the older generation of talent were not happy to hear this.

Ronda Rousey and WWE may be working once again in the future.

Fightful.com reports that Ronda Rousey has expressed interest in coming to WWE and has went as far as to learn some of the basics from a WWE Superstar.

According to a source within WWE, Rousey was referred to Brian Kendrick for training purposes in Southern California. WWE had previously referred Eva Marie to Kendrick as well.

Many are aware that Rousey made an appearance at the Mae Young Classic back on July 13 and 14th. The word going around backstage at the tournament was that Rousey’s training would start soon and she’s taken some basic bumps and other things thus far.

With WWE recently doing a tease between WWE and UFC’s Four Horsewomen, it’s very possible that something will come from that angle in the future.
