WWE is at the US Bank Arena in Cincinnati, OH for tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live. Here are some highlights from the show:

* AJ Styles opens up the show talking about his title match against Jinder Mahal at Sunday’s Clash of Champions. The Singh Brothers interrupt. They say they won’t be introducing Mahal. Replay is shown of Mahal’s attack on them. AJ invites them down to the ring, so they can hung it out. The Singh Brothers announce they are done with Mahal and they want to be in AJ’s corner on Sunday. AJ calls them out for being in Jinder’s corner over the weekend at the event in India.

* Out comes Jinder Mahal. Styles says he’s not buying it and he wants his match at Sunday a one-on-one match. He then attcks The Singh Brothers and toss them out of the ring. Mahal steps up on the apron while Styles taunts him to come into the ring. “Jinder Sucks” chants break out. One guy yells, “I Love You Jinder.” Jinder checks on The Singh Brothers. Styles holds up the WWE Title as Jinder looks on.

Welcome to SmackDown Live after a huge episode of Monday Night Raw!

Last night on Raw, Shane McMahon came to Monday Night Raw and brought with him the entire SmackDown Live roster, who destroyed everyone they came across backstage. It was a huge shot across the bow ahead of Survivor Series, where Team Raw will face Team SmackDown Live. Kurt Angle was not expecting the shots-fired by Shane McMahon, and it’s first blood to the blue brand. However, is Raw going to retaliate? Surely the red brand will want to extract revenge but will it be tonight? Also, are Shane and Kurt the team captain’s? That seemed to be the implication last night but I hope to get some confirmation on tonight’s show.

Elsewhere on tonight’s show, AJ Styles looks to make a mark on Jinder Mahal as he battles Sunil Singh. Styles’s WWE Championship challenge is impending but right now Mahal is focused on Brock Lesnar, which could leave Styles with a great opportunity to catch him off-guard. Styles has had a hard weekend, flying from South America to compete against Finn Balor, then he teamed with Rollins and Ambrose at the beginning of Raw, only to join SmackDown Live as they obliterated Raw. Styles could be exhausted from all the travel and fighting, but he should have enough in the tank to off one of the Singh Brothers, but two of them? Perhaps not.

A huge 8-man tag team match also features on tonight’s SmackDown Live. The Uso’s team with The New Day to take on Rusev, Aiden English, Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin. These 8 have had some troubles as of late and they look to settle their differences on tonight’s show. It will be interesting to see New Day and Uso’s teaming for the first time, which could signal a babyface turn for The Uso’s, and maybe even a heel turn for Gable and Benjamin.

Welcome to SmackDown Live, following an historic Hell In A Cell PPV, not 48 hours ago!

Tonight’s SmackDown Live comes to us from Grand Rapids, Michigan, and it’s set to be an episode that shapes the landscape of SmackDown Live for some time to come. At Hell In A Cell on Sunday night, Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens beat the living hell, no pun intended, out of each other for almost 40 minutes. The fight crashed through the Cell, made us all anxious with power moves atop the Cell, and culminated with Shane McMahon leaping off of the top with the intention of finishing Kevin Owens off. Of course, that didn’t go as planned because someone appeared in the nick of time to help Kevin Owens off of the announce table and to safety. And who was this timely hero? None other than KO’s arch rival, Sami Zayn? It was a move that had wrestling fans the world over staring slack-jawed at the screen and Shane’s sons flipping Sami off at ringside. Why did Zayn help Owens? Why would he then help Owens pin Shane and get the win? Zayn has a lot to answer for on tonight’s SmackDown and we can’t wait to hear it. Let us know what you think Zayn is going to say!

As if that alone wasn’t enough for tonight’s show, AJ Styles has invoked his rematch clause after losing the United States Championship to Baron Corbin in a Triple Threat match on Sunday night. Styles will no doubt be out for revenge, especially considering it was Dillinger who took the pinfall on Sunday and not Styles himself. Corbin and Styles will do battle tonight, perhaps one last time, over the US Championship but I don’t expect the title to shift hands once again.

What’s next for Jinder Mahal now that he has successfully bested Shinsuke Nakamura? Well that’s anyone’s guess but I imagine we will get at least some indication tonight of who his next opponent will be. The bigger question however, is where does Nakamura go from here? WWE spent some time building him up, having cleanly pin John Cena and Randy Orton, only to lose twice to Jinder. That leaves Nakamura in a weird place for the foreseeable future; I doubt it will happen but I think a couple of months off wouldn’t hurt him to recover and help people to forget the damage this feud has done.

Welcome to SmackDown Live, a mere 5 days away from the Hell In A Cell pay-per-view!

Shinsuke Nakamura is set to kick-off SmackDown Live tonight, less than a week from his second WWE Championship match against Jinder Mahal. To say this rivalry has been flat and uninteresting is like saying Braun Strowman is big – a fair understatement. The novelty of Mahal’s title run seems to have worn off and his promo’s have killed any momentum he may have had. It doesn’t help, then, that Shinsuke Nakamura can’t speak fluent English. So I believe fans are clamouring for this feud to end, and perhaps even the Jinder Mahal experiment. Nakamura has the chance to do just that on Sunday night but what will the artist have to say tonight? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

SmackDown’s other top rivalry has done anything but disappoint and that’s the feud between Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens. Shane and Owens are set to meet in the ring tonight, one last time ahead of their huge Hell In A Cell match this Sunday. Inevitably the two will come to blows and I imagine tonight Owens will get the better of Shane for the first time. I’m curious who can come out on top on Sunday night; KO seems like the obvious choice, however Shane has yet to win a match since returning and I wouldn’t mind seeing him pick up a victory. Where does that leaves Owens though? Well, rumours have him moving to Raw soon, so that makes sense. That being said, I’d be sad to see KO move back to the brand that has no opportunity for World Title runs, the scene is to be dominated by Lesnar all the way to WrestleMania, meaning the likes of Strowman, Samoa Joe, Finn Balor, Bray Wyatt, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, and even The Miz have to make do with other feuds. It’s unfair and I don’t see how adding Owens to that mix makes any sense. Let me know if you disagree!

Welcome to SmackDown Live, less than two weeks from Hell In A Cell!

It’s all been happening on SmackDown Live as of late. Kevin Owens has targeted the McMahon Family, feeling like the billionaires have a target on his back. So Owens destroyed Vince McMahon and promises to do the same to Shane inside the Cell. Tonight Shane McMahon responds to Owens’ official statement last week and I expect to see a run-in between the two men. This is SmackDown’s biggest and best storyline right now and it’s exciting to see where it’s going.

Last week, Jinder Mahal came out and cut a pretty bad promo. I think the promo was bad because it was just terrible in quality and delivery. However the promo came under a ton of flack for apparently being “racist”. It’s a sad sight in today’s world that you can’t poke fun at another nation without it being dubbed racist; somehow I doubt anyone thinks it’s racist to call Sheamus the great white shark or a leprechaun (nor is it) but that’s where we are as a society. Anyways, tonight Nakamura will get to respond to Mahal, just two weeks out from their next showdown. This feud has been flat-out bad thus far, both in the ring and on the microphone. I’m hoping WWE end it at Hell In A Cell and give Nakamura a chance.

Elsewhere on tonight’s SmackDown Live, Rusev will be honored with the Pride of Bulgaria Celebration. I’m not sure why this is a thing, especially since Rusev hasn’t done anything of note in a very long time. However I’m always glad to see him get some spotlight, even if that spotlight is sure to be interrupted by the legend Rusev promised to crush: Randy Orton. The Hype Bro’s failed to dethrone The New Day on last week’s SmackDown, and tonight they get another chance to prove themselves, this time against the number one contender’s, The Uso’s. Finally, Tye Dillinger and Baron Corbin are set to lock horns, and I imagine AJ Styles will feature in some regard. These three seem destined to compete in a Triple Threat for the United States Championship at Hell In A Cell.

Here comes Smackdown Commissioner Shane McMahon to kick off the show.

Shane McMahon opens Smackdown in Oakland

No dancing around for Shane tonight as he heads to the ring all business. Shane says we all just witness the cowardly act by Kevin Owens last week, beating down his father in the middle of this ring. “One thing’s for sure, my old man is one tough salty S.O.B.” He talks about having differences in the past with his father, but he loves him. Shane wants Owens to imagine if he was home last week, with his children and watched someone he loved get beat down by a coward. He says when anyone crosses a McMahon, the family will strike down with vengeance and he isn’t sure Owens realized what he has done. Shane says Owens is a no-show so far tonight. He talks about Owens beating down the patriarch of the McMahon family. Shane condemns Owens to a beating inside Hell in a Cell.

Randy Orton is in action next.

-Commercial Break-

Randy Orton vs. Aiden English

English throws rights and kicks early backing Orton to the corner. Orton fires back with a clothesline from the corner. Orton with a snap powerslam on English. English rolls to the ring apron. English avoids the DDT through the ropes, but Orton goes after him on the outside hitting a back suplex over the ring barricade. English with a back suplex counter, hits Orton in the back of the head and drops Orton over the announce table.

-Commercial Break-

Back live, English has Orton grounded in a side headlock. Orton with right hands to English in the corner. English with a thumb to the eye and dropkick combo for a two count. English gets up on the corner, jumps and eats an RKO out of no where! Orton gets the pinfall.

Winner: Randy Orton

After the match, Rusev walks out with a mic in hand. Rusev said going into SummerSlam he was going to be a national hero in his home land of Bulgaria. He said instead, Orton turned him into a national disgrace and tonight he is going to rip the fangs out of the Viper’s mouth. Rusev drops the mic and gets inside the ring.

The referee calls for the bell and here we go.

Orton immediately goes for an RKO. Rusev counters and tosses Orton towards the ropes. Aiden English is up on the ring apron. Orton takes out English with an elbow. Rusev with a superkick on Orton, hooks the leg and gets the pinfall!

Winner: Rusev

At ringside, Tom Phillips reveals Kevin Owens will be live tonight via satellite.

Charlotte Flair returns to Smackdown Live later tonight.

WWE Champion Jinder Mahal and The Singh Brothers are up next.

-Commercial Break-

Backstage, Rusev is celebrating his big win over Randy Orton. Renee Young walks up and says he looks elated. Rusev isn’t sure what that means, but he continues celebrating. He begins shouting “RUSEV NO. 1” as he walks off backstage.

Jinder Mahal addresses Nakamura once again.

The Singh Brothers introduce WWE Champion Jinder Mahal.

Inside the ring, Mahal grabs a mic and is aware some people were not happy with some of his controversial comments about Shinsuke Nakamura last week. Mahal again mocks Nakamura, like last week, with photos of Nakamura making funny faces. He predicts the prejudice of the people will continue and that they will turn on Nakamura the same way they turned on him. Mahal keeps showing the same photo for all of Nakamura’s reactions adding, “Shinsuke…you always ‘ROOK’ the same.”

The crowd in Oakland starts a loud “NAKAMURA” chant. Mahal says they chant his name and sing along to his theme to hide their own xenophobia. He says it looks like Nakamura gets his hair cut by a dog groomer. Mahal refers to Nakamura as Mr. Miyagi. Oakland literally starts a “THAT’S TOO FAR” chant. Mahal says if they think that is too far, wait until they hear what he has to say in his own native language of Punjabi.

Mahal begins speaking in Punjabi staring into the camera. He holds up the WWE Championship and stares up at a photo on the screen of him doing the same.

The commentary team says Mahal went way too far tonight.

Backstage, Renee Young is with Shinsuke Nakamura and wants his reaction to the comments by Jinder Mahal. Nakamura says Mahal is a funny but, but nothing will be funny when he wins the WWE Championship at Hell in a Cell.

Before the match, Styles gets on the mic and tells Kevin Owens he has no idea what he’s done beating up Vince McMahon. He doesn’t think Owens will make it out of the Hell in a Cell match. Styles turns his attention to the “Short Cut King” Baron Corbin. He brings up Corbin taking a short cut to win the Money in the Bank briefcase and failing. Styles talks about Corbin failing against John Cena at SummerSlam. He says Corbin will fail against him. Styles says Corbin will never take down the house AJ Styles built.

We get introductions for the challenger Baron Corbin and champion AJ Styles.

Corbin attacks Styles during his introduction. The referee backs Corbin off. Tye Dillinger runs inside the ring and starts attacking Corbin. Dillinger clotheslines Corbin over the top rope and continues throwing right hands over him on the outside.

Corbin rolls back inside the ring holding his left ankle. Corbin is yelling no at the referee. Styles dives in with a jumping clothesline. Styles applies the Calf Crusher. Corbin is tapping out, but the match hasn’t officially started yet as the referee signals no.

Corbin rolls out of the ring clutching his ankle.

Winner: No Contest

Up next, Charlotte Flair returns to Smackdown Live.

Backstage, Renee Young tries to talk with Baron Corbin. Corbin is not happy and says he sprained his “damn ankle.” He plans to get even with both AJ Styles and Tye Dillinger.

We begin with a look back at last week’s match between John Cena and Shinsuke Nakamura. Then we take a look at the post match involvement of Baron Corbin and what happened between Cena and Corbin.

We are in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and your announcers are Tom Phillips, John Layfield, and Byron Saxton. John Cena makes his way to the ring. John says there are some excited people and some upset people. John says he is as fired up as all of you. John says any night, WWE provides moments that will last a lifetime. The stage was set last week. A trip to SummerSlam and a title match. John says it was Super Cena against the King of Strong Style. John says he found out quick that Nakamura is afraid of nothing. John says he did not know why you chanted for Nakamura but he found out that Nakamura hits hard . . . real hard. John says he was doing his thing and he thought he was going to punch his ticket for SummerSlam.

Then the referee was raising Nakamura’s hand. Cena was wondering what happened and it hit him. John says he lost the match. There was no blind referee, no foul play, no Montreal Screw Job. He just lost. John says that does not happen a lot to him but he did the only thing he could do. He shook the hand of the man who earned the right to become the champ. Out of respect, Nakamura shook his hand back. Baron Corbin’s new music plays and he makes his way to the stage with his briefcase. Baron tells John to stop it. He says he is so sick and tired of people talking about this stupid handshake. Who cares about the dream match. You stuck your nose in his business. Baron says he does what he wants, when he wants because he has the Money in the Bank Contract. If you are looking for someone to respect, you should look at him, not Nakamura. He says he is the future and John will be the past.

John calls Baron a skinny fat dumpster fire. The crowd chants ‘dumpster fire’. John tells Baron if he wants to dance, he can sashay down here and he will put Baron through another table. Baron walks towards the ring but he says, why would he do it because he has the briefcase. Baron says he does what he wants, when he wants. Baron says that John has nothing he wants or nothing he needs. He does not have to beat John Cena so John can keep his respect. Baron says John is not worth his time.

Daniel Bryan comes out as Baron gets ready to go to the back. Daniel says it is great to be in Toronto. Daniel says he does not know if Baron is a dumpster fire, and John says he is. He does not know if Baron is the future because he does not have a crystal ball. Daniel says since Baron is not dressed to fight tonight, he will face John Cena at SummerSlam.

The Usos make their way in the back as we go to commercial.

Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso vs. Tye Dillinger versus Sami Zayn

Jimmy and Dillinger start things off and Jimmy with a shoulder tackle but Dillinger wtih an elbow. Dillinger punches Jimmy in the corner. Zayn tags in and Jey pulls Jimmy out of the way to avoid a Helluva Kick.

We go to split screen and Jimmy teases getting back in the ring but Jey makes the tag. Jey with punches to Zayn followed by a head butt. Zayn springboards over Jey and hits a head scissors that forces Jey to the floor. Jey has a kick blocked but Jey hits a dragon whip and gets a near fall. Jimmy tags in and Jey with a shoulder in the corner followed by a running forearm by Jimmy. Jimmy with an uppercut and a reverse chin lock.

Zayn with a punch as we return to full screen coverage. Jimmy with an Irish whip but he misses a splash into the corner. Jey tags in and Zayn is stopped from making the tag for a moment. Dillinger tags in and punches Jimmy and Jey. Dillinger with a clothesline and kick to Jey. Dillinger with kicks and he pulls down the knee pad and Jey goes to the floor. Dillinger goes for a suicide dive but Jey punches Dillinger. Zayn with a plancha over Dillinger onto Jimmy and Jey. Zayn sends Jey back into the ring and Dillinger with a sit out spinebuster for a near fall. Jimmy super kicks Zayn on the floor. Dillinger goes up top but Jey punches Tye. Tye stops Jimmy and Jey but Jimmy tags in. Tye goes for the Tye Breaker but Jimmy stops him and then Jimmy with Tequila Sunrise and Tye taps out.

Winners: Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso

After the match, Jey wants to know where the New Day is at. Jimmy says at SummerSlam, you are going to be looking at your new Smackdown Tag Team Champions.

Big E interrupts with the New Day introduction. Big E comes out to the stage to distract the Usos while Kofi and Xavier attack Jimmy and Jey from behind. They send Jey into the ring post and then Woods gets chairs while Big E and Kofi attack Jimmy. Jey makes the save for Jimmy and they head up the ramp to the stage.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Renee Young is with Randy Orton. She asks him about Rusev. He says Rusev was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He went to the ring to give Rusev something to be afraid of. Renee asks Randy about his match against Jinder Mahal. Jinder has done everything in his power to escape with the WWE title and he has succeeded. Without the Singhs by his side, he won’t escape.

We go to Fashion Peaks.

Tyler talks about his dream and he says the Ascension were in it. Konnor asks to have some pie. Tyler explains what happened in his dream and he needs to crack the code. Tyler asks Konnor and Viktor if they want to know who took Fandango and they say they only wanted pie. Tyler asks the photo of Fandango where is he.

Tyler turns around and it is Fandango with a tie around his head. Tyler wonders if it will take 18 episodes to find things out. Fandango takes a sip of the coffee and he says it was aliens. Tyler asks why didn’t he escape and Fandango says anal probes, but he meant wardrobe. They allowed Fandango to look into the future. Fandango says the next person into the room destroyed Tully. Arn Anderson enters and he asks where catering is. Tyler wants to know if Arn destroyed Tully . . . Tully the horse. Arn says he did it because they should have called the horse Arn since he was the hoss of the group. Arn takes some doughnuts and leaves the room.

Welcome to the 4th of July edition of SmackDown Live, in which an American hero returns to WWE: John Cena!

The 16-time WWE World Champion makes his grand return to WWE for the first time since WrestleMania, the big difference now is that Cena is a free agent. Which is essentially an excuse for him to work both Raw and SmackDown, which I would have been mad about a few years ago, but now Cena’s career is winding down I have no complaints with him working programs with as many people as possible! Who does Cena jump into a feud with in the near future? It seems inevitable that he will work with Jinder Mahal but he’s tied-up with Orton until after Battleground, so that leaves the window open for big match John to have a quick win to give him some momentum and an excuse to challenge for the title. So maybe the likes of Dolph Ziggler will step-up for a month. We should know by the end of tonight!

Elsewhere on tonight’s show, we will get a huge 4th of July Battle Royale to determine the number one contender to Kevin Owens’ US Championship. It’s unclear who will partake in the match but we do know AJ Styles is a participant and the most likely to win since he’s been gunning for a rematch with Owens after losing at WWE Backlash. I would also expect Sami Zayn, Luke Harper and Baron Corbin to take part in the multi-man match, with Owens watching from ringside. Heck, maybe even Cena will throw his hat in the ring!

Naomi and Lana seem set to lock horns again, probably at Battleground, as Lana made the legitimate claim that her shoulder wasn’t on the mat. So I would expect Lana to come out tonight and make that claim to the entire WWE Universe, as well as her request for a third shot at the title. Meanwhile The New Day and The Uso’s will partake in a rap battle tonight, with famous rapper Wale set to host the contest.  The Uso’s have been fantastic since turning heel and winning the titles, particularly in all of their Talking Smack promo’s, so tonight’s segment should be entertaining if nothing else!

Welcome to another edition of SmackDown Live!

Tonight we have a bonafide first-time ever match-up between two huge stars: Kevin Owens and Shinsuke Nakamura! These two men are set to lock horns in the Money In The Bank ladder match in less than two weeks but tonight they get to inflict some damage and probably have a show stealer!

Also on tonight’s show, AJ Styles will face Dolph Ziggler once again – after losing last week in what was seemingly a botched finish. Dave Meltzer predicted this match would happen again tonight, in order to give AJ a win and some momentum back. The match last week was really starting to heat-up into a great affair but it ended abruptly when Ziggler superkicked AJ in the back of the head.

The New Day jumped right into the tag team title picture upon arriving on SmackDown last week. Xavier Woods, Big E, and Kofi Kingston challenged The Usos in their first appearance on the blue brand since coming over via the Superstar Shake-up. And now a SmackDown Tag Team Championship match awaits them at the Money in the Bank PPV. I expect to finally see The New Day in tag team action tonight, but will The Uso’s play fair?

The women’s Money In The Bank ladder match is also less than two weeks away, and it’s a match that has gotten a lot of people excited. However it does seemingly leave Naomi off of a PPV, having not defended her title in a while. This could really hurt the Champion as she looks to add credibility to her reign. Rumours suggest Lana might appear soon and challenge Naomi at Money in the Bank but I don’t see this happening – why would WWE promote Lana so heavily, only to have her lose her first match and fade away? Hopefully we find out tonight if Naomi will have a role at the PPV.

And then there’s Jinder Mahal and Randy Orton. The two didn’t meet physically last week, but Orton did give a good promo and Jinder appeared on the tron afterwards to annoy him. Expect things to really heat-up tonight between these two, as WWE need to add some fuel to the fire before long.
