Sky Sports recently interviewed Sasha Banks. Here are some highlights from the interview:

Sasha Banks on the case for women’s tag team titles: “I would love that. I think we have enough women on the roster now to actually have a women’s tag division. We’ve been given multiple storylines but at the same time, it’s very hard to accomplish something if you’re not actually fighting for anything. Only one woman can go after the women’s championship and I think if we had tag team championships we’d be able to create way more interesting storylines. We have tag matches all the time, every single week, so I say why not get a championship involved in that?”

Sasha Banks on her rivalry with Bayley: “That rivalry with Bayley is something I would love to pick back up because she has my number and that annoys me. I am the greatest women’s wrestler ever and I want to show the world that. I’m in no rush for it. I plan on being in WWE for a long time and that’s something we can pick up at any time.”

Austin welcomes Sasha Banks and Bayley to the show.

Bayley mentions that her and Banks have been working a lot of live events as a tag team recently, but they haven’t really been told that they’re going to be a team moving forward. Banks thinks they work well together but they haven’t really implemented any ‘team’ moves yet so she thinks they can do more of that in the future. They both enjoy working with each other as a team, but they also miss working solo matches from time to time.

Austin mentions that when you break into the wrestling business at first you travel with multiple people from town to town. As you begin to make more money you start to travel alone or you find one other person to travel with. Banks and Bayley inform that they’ve paired up and they travel everywhere together. Their routine includes arriving in the town for that night’s show, eating breakfast, finding a coffee shop and then hitting the gym.

Banks informs that they’re not particular when it comes to finding hotels, and as long as the room is reasonable they’d prefer to save their money and rent cheaper rooms. She does admit that they had a terrible experience sharing a room together in a 2-star hotel one time, where they shared a twin bed with only one thin blanket. They slept with all their clothes on because they were concerned with the cleanliness of the bed.

As previously reporter, Paige appeared to be injured at Wednesday’s WWE Live Event at MSG during a six-women tag match. The bout ended up being stopped after Paige was kicked by Sasha Banks in the face.

According to Mick Foley, Paige is okay coming out of the event. He sent out the following on Twitter regarding Paige’s status:

Correspondents at tonight’s WWE Live Event in Long Island, NY sent word that Paige may have been legitimately hurt.

Paige was involved in a six-women tag match that was was stopped and a stretcher was brought to ringside after she was kicked in the face by Sasha Banks. Paige was down for several minutes after the incident. She was eventually able to walk out of the arena on her own.

Austin welcomes Sasha Banks to the show.

Banks informs that she spent the early years of her life moving from city to city, accommodating her brother who has autism. Her mother and her would spend a lot of their time caring for him, but her getaway was watching wrestling for a few hours each week.

She feels like she’s been training to be a wrestler her entire life. As a teenager she’d rent wrestling movies and take bumps on her mattress. She mentions that she never really had a backup plan other than becoming a professional wrestler and Austin says that he didn’t either, even though neither of them would recommend that.

She began training in MMA at a young age, training in Judo, Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu, but she didn’t like getting punched in the face so she started training to become a professional wrestler when she turned 18. Initially she was afraid to take bumps but she had a pep talk with herself, encouraging herself to follow her dream and stick with it. She absolutely loves taking bumps now, and she still loves the business very much.

While she hasn’t been officially announced for the Women’s Survivor Series match, Nia Jax indicated on Twitter that she would be one of the participants for the RAW team. The team currently features Captain Alicia Fox, Sasha Banks and Bayley.

As seen on Monday’s episode of RAW, Emma won a 5-Way Elimination Match to earn the opportunity to face Askua in her debut match at the upcoming WWE TLC event.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Asuka vs. Emma was always the plan for Asuka’s debut match due to the fact that the two worked together and had a high-quality match at NXT Takeover: London back on December 16th, 2015.

While many felt Sasha Banks or Bayley would be the best opponent for Asuka, the feeling is those matches should have a build. Basically, Emma was placed in her position just to make Asuka look strong.

WWE Superstars and former RAW Tag Team Champions Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson recently spoke to the Daily Mail where they talked about their time in Japan, and also about The Club and a number of different topics.

When asked which WWE Superstars they would like see join the Club next, Anderson replied:

“Sasha Banks, she could manage us! That’s what so cool though, you could even go old school, I mean everyone knows our history with Finn Balor and some of the other guys from our time in Japan.”

Anderson revealed that their future goals and aspirations are to be the RAW Tag Team Champions again and walk into WrestleMania as champions.

”We’d like to be the Tag Team Champions again, we’d like to walk into Mania as champions again, that was such a cool moment that you can never take from us.”

Luke Gallows went on to clarify how it felt going into WrestleMania as champions:

“Walking down that ramp with our belts above the ring, feeling that wind blowing. can still see it all, John Cena and Nikki Bella were warming up before they went out there, we came back through the curtain and there Triple H getting pumped up before he went out. That was cool, that’s the dream being on that show with all those guys there.”

Welcome to another edition of Monday Night Raw, for the final time in August 2017!

Tonight’s Raw is to be headlined by a huge Women’s Championship rematch. Alexa Bliss invoked her rematch clause last week and tonight she gets the opportunity to win back her title from Sasha Banks. It’s hard to imagine that Bliss doesn’t have a plan in-store and that she will pull some trick. Maybe Nia Jax will play a key role in the match, thus leading to a Triple Threat at No Mercy. Regardless, Sasha Banks will have to be on guard if she hopes to walk out of tonight’s Raw with her Championship.

Elsewhere on the show, WWE.Com is teasing continued tensions between Roman Reigns and John Cena. The 16X WWE Champion returned to Raw last week and immediately called out Roman Reigns in a really cool segment. The two barely had time to talk, or throw hands, when they were interrupted by The Miz and Samoa Joe. This led to a completely forgettable main event but the possibility of a feud between Cena and Reigns, or Cena and Joe is enough to get this writer salivating. Personally I think it makes more sense to save Cena Vs. Reigns for WrestleMania but WWE tend to pull the trigger too soon on idea’s like these, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see the two tangle at No Mercy.

On last week’s Raw, Jason Jordan audaciously challenged Finn Balor to a match to prove himself. Rather unsurprisingly, Jordan lost the match but put in a good effort nonetheless – you might not even have noticed though because the Brooklyn crowd took it upon themselves to ignore the match and play with a beech ball. Thankfully beech balls have been banned from WWE events moving forward. I imagine Jordan will continue to try and prove himself but he keeps losing and I hope he starts cheating to win, thus turning heel and pulling Angle into a tricky situation.
