The T-Mobile Arena indicated on Facebook that there could be two Elimination Chamber matches at this year’s annual event — one for the men and possibly one for the women.

The promotional image featured Samoa Joe and Alexa Bliss at the forefront in the advertisement for next month’s event. The caption for the event asks which of the twelve RAW stars will “make it” inside the Chamber. This of course indicates two potential Chamber matches, as they have traditionally only had six competitors.

While it’s has not been officially confirmed yet on a women’s Elimination Chamber match, Kurt Angle previously mentioned in an interview that the women will have that type of match at some point. Pro Wrestling Sheet also reported a while back there there was internal talk of the match happening.

The Elimination Chamber takes place on February 28th in Las Vegas, Nevada and airs live on the WWE Network.

Before Samoa Joe suffered his foot injury, there were plans in place for him to do an angle with John Cena at the upcoming Royal Rumble event. With Joe unable to appear on the show, it appears that the spot will now be given to Elias instead and he will do whatever spot that Joe was originally supposed to do with Cena at the pay-per-view event.

As previously reported, Joe’s return has been pushed back and he’s not expected back until the end of March. With Cena rumored to be facing The Undertaker at WrestleMania this year, it’s possible the plans that WWE had for Joe and Cena will be completely scrapped.

As previously reported, Samoa Joe is out of action with an injury and has been removed from WWE events. It’s unknown at this time when he’s expected back but he could be out of action for the next two to eight weeks.

The Miz will be replacing Samoa Joe at some of his bookings in the main event including the March 16th Madison Square Garden event where he’s in a three-way for the Intercontinental Championship against John Cena and Roman Reigns.

As previously reported, WWE will be broadcasting live on both Christmas and New Years this year. Traditionally, WWE tapes these shows in advanced but they decided to change things.

According to WWE.com, the following Superstars are being advertised for the show on Christmas:

Roman Reigns Update

It’s being reported that Roman Reigns has not been cleared to return to action after his dealing with the mumps for the past few weeks. He will not be at RAW tonight, nor will he be on the upcoming UK Tour. WWE is hoping he will be cleared in time for Survivor Series.

WWE released the official announcement for RAW’s 25th anniversary happenings in January this morning.

Samoa Joe Update

It’s being reported that Samoa Joe is backstage for tonight’s RAW. Joe has been out of action for a couple of months, undergoing a couple of surgeries for nagging injuries. He was due back this month, so it looks like he’s returning just in time to cover for some of the stars that are still on the shelf due to the mumps.

The Shield Sticking Around?

We might be seeing more of The Shield than just their big match at Sunday’s TLC PPV. We reported yesterday that the trio is scheduled to have a match to kick off the WWE UK tour next month, and now they are being advertised for a show at MSG on December 26th.

While they are being advertised for WWE live events, there’s no word on if the trio will remain together as a unit on WWE television after TLC.

Bray Wyatt Update

Many people have noticed that Bray Wyatt has only been in pre-taped segments on RAW over the past two weeks. Bo Dallas and ring announcer JoJo Offerman have also been MIA. It turns out that Bo has been suffering from viral meningitis, and Bray and JoJo have been kept off of the road and at home as a precautionary measure.

At this time, Bray is still scheduled to face Finn Bálor at Sunday’s TLC.

Samoa Joe Injury Update

Samoa Joe has been off television since August, recovering from knee surgery he had due to an injury he suffered at a live event. Word is that Joe is all healed up now and just waiting for WWE creative to write him back into RAW.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Samoa Joe should be back in the ring by the end of the month. Joe underwent undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery for a torn meniscus — surgery he needed since he started in NXT but didn’t want to take the time off.

Joe also underwent surgery to repair his nose which has been broken eight times and was causing him breathing difficulties. Joe mentioned to Sky Sports that he now feels so much better as he was only breathing at 60 percent prior to the surgery.

“Now it’s the best I’ve ever felt, it really is. I also needed nasal surgery as I’ve broken my nose about eight times in my career so I was only breathing at around 60 percent. You have no idea how invigorating it is now.”

Tyson Kidd apparently loves his new role with WWE, according to his wife Natalya.

While speaking with TV Insider, Natalya spoke about her husband’s new role with the company and mentnioned that they are both very happy with his position in WWE.

“Tyson came back to the show and jumped into a new role in WWE that he loves. So, we are both in happy places,” said Natalya. “But the first time I met Brie and Bryan’s Birdie I was telling my husband, ‘So much has changed for us. Birdie almost makes me want to have a baby.’ Granted, I’m not in that place in my life yet, but Birdie is like no other baby I ever met. She is the best of Bryan and Brie. She is just so good-natured. I’ve never seen her cry. She could give any girl baby fever.”

As previously noted, Kidd was forced to retire after a neck injury during a freak accident involving Samoa Joe’s muscle buster back in 2015. WWE then decided to offer Kidd a gig within the company earlier this year.

Russo is joined on today’s show by his co-host Jeff Lane.

Lane opens today’s show by playing a clip of Dave Meltzer who says he can’t believe that TNA had Okada for a year or two and didn’t push him at all. Meltzer said that will go down as one of the greatest punch lines of all time. Russo says that Samoa Joe actually came up to him during their time working together in TNA, and told him that Okada was very entertaining and TNA needed to take advantage of him.

Another clip of Meltzer presents him saying that Vince McMahon was trying to prove how tough he was by taking that headbutt from Kevin Owens on Smackdown Live last week, but Meltzer feels that at some points McMahon needs to grow up and realize the business is a work. Russo says that Meltzer is the last person who should be telling someone else to grow up.

Russo says that McMahon takes these kinds of shots because of his ego, to prove to himself and others that he can still do these things at age 72. Russo says that McMahon isn’t a mark and he knows that the business is a work, but Meltzer on the other hand is peeing his pants over some indie show.
