On today’s episode of The Taz Show, Taz will debut a new weekly special entitled, “Throwback Snack”. Once a week, Taz will watch, analyze and break down a classic match from years gone by. On today’s show, he will discuss the classic 1985 match between Ric Flair and Ron Garvin which aired live from the TBS Studio in Atlanta.

This was an NWA Championship match, and Taz thought the television studio setting was a very intriguing place for this bout to take place. He thought this match was an awesome, physical bout, and he begins his detailed analysis from start to finish.

The commentary team for this match was Tony Schiavone and David Crockett. He’s always been a fan of Schiavone’s work, from his early NWA days continuing on to his work for WCW during the Monday Night Wars.

On the other hand, he wasn’t a fan of David Crockett’s commentary work at all, and he says it’s a good thing that Crockett’s family owned the business because if they didn’t he probably wouldn’t have lasted long in that position. Taz feels that Schiavone should have been the lead commentator here, not Crockett.

While appearing on the E&C’s Pod of Awesomeness, John Cena mentioned that he is not retiring despite being 40 years-old. Cena says he realizes that his body will not be able to do a full scheduled for WWE and mentioned that he hashad conversations with himself about when he gets a step slower it’s time to bow out before he becomes one of those guys.

Cena points out that he had a longer run than he probably should have and mentions that he’s very thankful for that run and he’s willing to do anything Vince needs him to do but these “asks” need to be more selective, not only for the company’s future but his health and personal well-being.

Dave Meltzer mentioned on the latest installment of Wrestling Observer Radio that Vince McMahon created a wound on his forehead and covered it up with Vaseline before he came out for his in-ring segment with Kevin Owens. Meltzer explained that how the headbutt from Owens reopened the wound and he bled on television, which was part also part of the plans for the segment.

In regards to what didn’t happen, Stephane McMahon was supposed to run out to the ring with a towel to clean up the blood as it gushed out of Vince’s head. That never happened on Tuesday night.

This year’s SummerSlam is expected to run for at least six hours, according to multiple sources. The kickoff show is scheduled to start at 5PM and run for two hours with the main pay-per-view beginning at 7PM and lasting approximately four hours.

The pre-show is expected to feature at least three pre-show matches. Rumored matches include The Usos vs. The New Day, The Hardy Boys vs Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson and/or the Cruiserweight match or Big Cass vs. Big Show.

The Smackdown Women’s Championship match between Naomi and Natalya is also a possibility, but if there are plans to have Carmella cash in her Money in the Bank contract, it wouldn’t make sense for it to happen before the event officially starts.

We will keep you updated once an announcement is made.
