Samir Singh revealed on Instagram that he suffered a torn ACL during the angle on last week’s episode of SmackDown Live. The injury occurred at ringside angle during the Bobby Roode vs. Jinder Mahal US Championship tournament match.

While Sing did not reveal how long he’s expected to be out of action for, it’s believe that it could be six to nine months for the recovery of that injury.

Last week I tore my ACL and it goes without saying that this past week has been very emotional. The more I think about it, the less it makes sense. All I know is that God is the sovereign of my life and that everything that comes to pass is his blessing. I thank you all for the continued love and support. I can’t wait to be back.

Bobby Roode defeated Baron Corbin and Jinder Mahal defeated Tye Dillinger to advance in the US Title tournament on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live.

WWE Has announced that Zack Ryder will face Mojo Rawley and Aiden English will face Xavier Woods in the remaining tournament matches. The winner of Ryder vs. Rawley will face Roode and the winner of English vs. Woods will face Mahal.

Edge and Christian welcome Dolph Ziggler to the show.

Ziggler talks about receiving a Spinebuster from Arn Anderson at WWE’s recent Starrcade event. He says that he was told weeks in advance that he’d be working with Bobby Roode at that event, but he didn’t get his hopes up because he assumed those plans would change as the event drew nearer. Luckily, those plans stuck and he and Roode were given enough time to tear the house down.

He cut a promo with Ric Flair earlier in the night which was a really cool moment for him, but Arn Anderson’s involvement in their match made the night extremely memorable. Anderson was the special guest enforcer for the match and at the end of the bout he delivered a classic Spinebuster to Ziggler, which was a moment he’ll never forget.

He jokes that he’s a bitter old man at this point and there isn’t much within the wrestling business that gets him excited anymore, but that night was filled with one memorable moment after another. There was a special feeling in the air the entire day, with legends like The Rock N Roll Express, Ricky Steamboat and Ric Flair all walking around the backstage area prior to the event.

WWE heads to the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina for tonight’s WWE Starrcade event. Here are the results from the show courtesy of Cassidy Haynes of BodySlam.net:

* The arena was asked use to vote for a match at Starrcade and everyone cheered and voted for Sting and Ric Flair however ended up getting Lex Luger and Flair. The match got booed out the building.

* Our correspondent sent word that the place is packed for being a “house show.”

* Starrcade video package opens the show.

* Bobby Roode vs. Dolph Ziggler. Roode comes out first, followed by Ziggler. Arn Anderson is the special enforcer for this match. Ziggler takes out AA after trying to take away a chair. Roode gets the victory after a spinbuster and an assist from Arn.

* Breezango, Tye Dillinger, The Ascension, Sin Cara vs. Rusev, Mike Kanellis, The Colons, The Bludgeon Brothers. The Bludgeon brothers get the victory for their team after they perform their finisher on Dillinger. After the match, Kanellis got the finisher as well from the Bludgeon Brothers.

* Naomi vs. Tamina. Lana is out with Tamina. Some fans in one section attempt a CM Punk chant. Naomi gets the victory.

* Tribute to Dusty Rhodes is shown.

Tonight’s SmackDown Live kicks-off with Sami Zayn, as he will address the WWE Universe about his recent actions. Zayn made his feelings clear last week on SmackDown Live, as he shared multiple hugs with his best friend Kevin Owens. Zayn seems to have turned his back on the WWE Universe, in search of some Championship gold. Will Zayn look to partner with Owens for some tag team matches, or will he move to the US title? Let us know where you think Zayn is headed.

Another Superstar planning on addressing the WWE Universe tonight, is the WWE Champion Jinder Mahal. As of now, Mahal doesn’t have a challenger for his WWE Championship but he plans on making an announcement on tonight’s show, regarding Survivor Series. It’s unclear what Mahal’s announcement will be, although recent rumours suggest that Mahal will face Brock Lesnar in a Champion Vs. Champion match! This seems out of left field and not the kind of announcement that Mahal would make but it would make for an interesting match-up and we would get to see Lesnar on SmackDown!

Also on tonight’s show, Bobby Roode faces Dolph Ziggler in a Hell In A Cell rematch. Roode defeated Ziggler at the PPV, by holding the tights mind you, only to be beat down by Ziggler after the match. Last week on SmackDown, Roode won a match, only for Ziggler to come out and chastise him after the fact. The two are set for a grudge match tonight but something tells me Ziggler will sneak the win.

While speaking with ESPN, Bobby Roode explains how close he was to go in a different direction in NXT and it was actually Triple H who convinced him to change his entrance song.

“It wasn’t me at all, actually. I had a different song picked out,” Roode said. “I was about to debut on NXT and about a week later or two, as I waited for some paperwork to be finished up, I had a conversation with Triple H about the character and what I wanted to do. He came up to me that TV taping and said, ‘hey I’ve got this song that we have and I think it kind of fits your character a little better, so why don’t you have a listen?’

“So it could’ve went one of two ways: it could’ve really sucked or it could’ve been really great. And it’s been better than great — glorious, I guess you could say. The song itself was a blessing, it’s been a gift because in this business, everyone talks about the entrance but without the song, there is no entrance.”

Bryan Alvarez reported on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Live that WWE originally had plans to call up three NXT Superstars to the main roster.

As seen on Tuesday, Bobby Roode made his official main roster call up on the SmackDown Live brand. Alvarez noted that he doesn’t know who the other two NXT Superstars that are going to be called up, but expects for it to happen soon. It could happen before or at the next Superstar Shakeup this year.
