Taz opens today’s show by informing that he’ll be doing a live 3-hour special immediately after the Royal Rumble this Sunday.

Taz says he’s not completely against the idea of Stephanie McMahon joining the commentary team for the Women’s Royal Rumble match. He admits that he’d rather have a different person in that role, but as long as Stephanie doesn’t try to do play-by-play or a colour commentary, he’s okay with it. He thinks she needs to simply be an ambassador of sorts at the commentary desk.

Seth points out that Ronda Rousey is actually the betting favourite to win the Women’s Rumble match right now. Taz thinks some of the higher-ups in WWE actually leak this type of information on purpose in order to generate buzz and anticipation. If Rousey is involved, he doesn’t think WWE is going to put her in there to lose, so he picks Rousey to win this match.

Taz doesn’t think that Stephanie McMahon should be a guest entrant into the Rumble match. He jokes that it’s already bad enough that her husband, Triple H involves himself in every cool angle; she doesn’t need to do the same.

While speaking with TMZ, Ronda Rousey denied reports that she will be participating in the Women’s Royal Rumble match this Sunday and revealed that she will be shooting a movie instead.

“I’m actually leaving to Colombia right now to finish shooting ‘Mile 22’ and won’t be back until mid February,” said the former UFC Fighter.

Ronda also mentioned that she has not signed a contract with WWE.

As of this writing, Asuka is currently the heavy favorite to win the Women’s first-ever Royal Rumble match that takes place later this month at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event. She sits at 11/8, while Ronda Rousey is the second favorite to win.

As seen on Monday’s episode of RAW, Stephanie McMahon announced the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble match for next month’s Royal Rumble event.

Dave Meltzer discussed the announcement on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio and speculated that there is a good chance that WWE may bring in Ronda Rousey for the match. While Meltzer didn’t confirm that those were the exact plans, he did speculated that it could happen. If Rousey was to enter the match, many believe that she would leave the event as the winner of first-ever Women’s Rumble.

As previously reported, Ronda has been training at the WWE Performance Center, readying herself for a career with WWE. She was previously rumored to work a program with Charlotte or Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania. There is a chance now that she could enter and win and go on to face SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte at WrestleMania this year or even challenge the RAW Women’s Champion. It remains to be seen.

While Ronda Rousey was in attendance at Tuesday’s SmackDown Live in Vegas she was spotted by a 6 year-old fan who wanted a photo but was stopped by one of the security guards. That’s when the girl started to cry.

Ronda caught wind of the incident and put the guard in a full nelson so that the girl can “punch” the guard. Rousey then invited her to sit in the front row with her.

Ronda Rousey and WWE may be working once again in the future.

Fightful.com reports that Ronda Rousey has expressed interest in coming to WWE and has went as far as to learn some of the basics from a WWE Superstar.

According to a source within WWE, Rousey was referred to Brian Kendrick for training purposes in Southern California. WWE had previously referred Eva Marie to Kendrick as well.

Many are aware that Rousey made an appearance at the Mae Young Classic back on July 13 and 14th. The word going around backstage at the tournament was that Rousey’s training would start soon and she’s taken some basic bumps and other things thus far.

With WWE recently doing a tease between WWE and UFC’s Four Horsewomen, it’s very possible that something will come from that angle in the future.
