Lane opens today’s show by mentioning that WWE’s Rich Swann has been arrested and charged with kidnapping and battery after a weekend conflict with his wife. There are conflicting statements from Swann, his wife and the witnesses, but apparently Swann and his wife were returning home from one of his wife’s wrestling shows and Swann was critiquing her match.

From there the details get blurry but several witnesses said they saw Swann’s wife exit the car followed by Swann, and the car actually rolled slowly into a nearby light pole. Swann argued that he was just trying to get his wife to return to the car so they could get home because she had their only GPS on her phone and he wouldn’t be able to get home without it.

Swann has been suspended indefinitely by WWE due to their zero tolerance policy regarding domestic violence, and Vito points out that while Swann hasn’t actually been proven guilty of anything yet, the public’s perception of him has already taken a huge hit. Whether Swann is guilty of the alleged crimes he’s charged with or not, he’s already been proven guilty in the public eye.

During Sunday’s installment of Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez discussed Rich Swann’s match being pulled from tonight’s episode of RAW because of his arrest over the weekend.

Bryan Alvarez reports that they are trying to get Hideo Itami to debut on tonight’s RAW as the replacement for Swann on the show. Alvarez said if they are unable to get him in for the show, they will probably just do a multi-person match to determine the new challenger for Enzo Amore’s Cruiserweight Championship.

WWE’s Rich Swann was arrested early Sunday morning for an incident involving his wife, professional wrestler Su Yung (Vannarah Riggs) in Alachua County, Florida.

Swann was reportedly driving a car where Riggs was a passenger. The two began to discuss a match Riggs had earlier in the night, leading to Swann getting upset and angry. Apparently Swann has a history of a temper and getting physical, as Riggs told police she feared the altercation would get physical and exited the vehicle.

This reportedly lead to Swann also jumping out of the car, chasing down Riggs, and dragging her back to the car via a headlock. Witnesses said that Swann didn’t put the car in park, and it continued to roll as he chased Riggs, resulting in the car hitting a telephone pole. Another witness said Riggs yelled for help as she was returned to the car and Swann drove off.

Swann claims that he did not physically touch Riggs and said that he chased her due to her having the GPS and wanting to return home. The couple has been together for five years, and they have been married for 9 months.

The charge of kidnapping and false imprisonment of an adult is punishable by up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine. It is a third-degree felony. Swann was also charge with battery (touching/strike), which carries a possible penalty of up to a year in prison or 12 months probation and a $1,000 fine. That is a first degree misdemeanor.

Swann is reportedly still being held in Gainesville, Florida.

UPDATE:

Late Sunday morning, WWE officially issued a statement to the media on the incident. Swann has been suspended. The statement reads as follows:

“WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, and per our policy, Rich Swann has been indefinitely suspended following his arrest.”

Ahead of their #1 contender match at RAW next week, Rich Swann and Drew Gulak had an exchange on Twitter, where Gulak took a jab at Swann for previously being homeless.

Drew Gulak defeated Tony Nese, Cedric Alexander, Ariya Daivari in a Fatal 4 Way match on tonight’s episode of RAW to advance to a match against Rich Swann on next week’s show. The winner of that bout will move on to face Enzo Amore for a shot at the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.

No other matches or segments have been announced for next week’s show, but we will keep you updated if anything else is announced.

WWE has had a change in plans for tonight’s 205 Live show and a match that was scheduled is no longer taking place.

Rich Swann was originally scheduled to face Jack Gallagher on tonight’s show but it’s now being replaced with Rich Swann vs. Brian Kendrick.

As noted, the show will also feature Enzo Amore & Ariya Daivari vs. Mustafa Ali & WWE Cruiserweight Champion Kalisto.

Welcome to the fastest hour on television, 205 Live!

Two nights ago and WWE No Mercy, Enzo Amore defeated Neville to become the Cruiserweight Champion. There’s a sentence I never wanted to write. Yes, Enzo defeated Neville, albeit via a low blow, and he is the new King of the Cruiserweights.

Last night on Raw, Enzo Amore demanded a celebration of his big win, in which he wanted to retire his jersey. Then all of the cruiserweights came onto the stage and one-by-one Enzo insulted each of them, in very heel-like fashion. The former Champion, Neville, then came out and told Enzo some harsh truths: that nobody liked him, that he can’t wrestle, that the division regrets giving him a chance, and that he, on behalf of the division, will end him. Neville proceeded to come down to the ring and destroy Enzo – apparently eliminating himself from a title rematch. After Raw went off the air, Braun Strowman came down and further demolished Enzo by landing a running powerslam, and is if that wasn’t enough, the rest of the cruiserweights came down and beat on Enzo, hitting their finishers in the process. It was a really great segment if you really dislike Enzo Amore.

So, tonight, the Champion will get a chance to respond to the entire division and we should find out if Enzo is now a full heel. Also, who is the number one contender now that Neville is out of the running? Cedric Alexander? Rich Swann? Hopefully we get an idea tonight. Former best friends, TJP and Rich Swann will settle their differences inside the squared circle tonight. At first, TJP wanted to “one-up” his friend in everything he did, and more recently, TJP appeared to suffer a knee injury that Swann was unaware of, however he bounced back unbeknownst to Swann. The two have been going back and forth for months now and it became clear that their rivalry was anything but friendly. Tonight, TJP and Rich Swann throw down in Sin City to determine who gets bragging rights.

Last night on Raw, Enzo Amore was a guest on Miz TV, but he appeared early, interrupting The Miz and Maryse’s baby announcement. The two then had an impromptu match, which Enzo won by disqualification, but he paid the price as The Miz and The Miztourage had their way with him afterwards. After the match, Enzo was confronted by WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville, who simply laughed at his WWE No Mercy challenger. Can Enzo prove himself worthy ahead of No Mercy?
