Ric Flair is suing his former management company, Legacy Talent & Entertainment. According to TMZ, Flair claims that he is owed $25,000.00 for his 30 For 30 documentary, but his manager stole the money. He is also claiming that he is missing a $12,000.00 royalty payment from Jake’s Fireworks.

Flair said that he reached out to his former manager to find out what was going on, and he was informed that they used the money to pay legal fees. Flair says he never authorized them to do this. He’s saying he’s owed at least $46,000.00 in total.

Legacy and their attorneys released a statement this afternoon about the lawsuit, and it was less than flattering when it came to Flair.

“Ric Flair has always been known to be dramatic and looking desperately for the spotlight. That’s fine as a wrestler but it is despicable when he blatantly lies.

“As anyone who read [the Ric Flair Grantland article] knows, Ric has always left a trail of destruction in his wake whether it be from his ex wives, the IRS, creditors, or from his former business partners and friends… the debris is everywhere.

“Our client wishes Flair nothing but the best and is sad that things have come to this after over a decade of hard work and incredible results for their client.

“Our client provided Flair an accounting of funds as they always did throughout their representation. Flair then demanded funds that belonged to buyers be released from trust that he had not yet earned and our client would not be bullied into doing anything unethical. In reality the $37,000 in dispute are in his management company’s trust account while we were working out a settlement on the sums of money owed our client from deals and money Flair hid from his management.”

Ric Flair will be making an appearance later this month at WWE’s Starrcade in Greensboro. I mean, it wouldn’t be Starrcade without The Nature Boy, would it?

This will be Flair’s first publicized appearance for the company since his health scare this past summer. He made a surprise appearance on SmackDown Live this week after his daughter Charlotte won the SmackDown Women’s Title from Natalya.

It’s interesting to note that Dustin Rhodes is advertised for the show instead of Goldust. Also, despite rumors, this is still not scheduled to be a WWE Network special.

While speaking to TMZ, Mick Foley was asked about Ric Flair talking about his many relationships with women in the documentary, Foley noted that Ric Flair was “superhuman” with his sex drive in his heyday.

Foley stated, “You can’t call him a wrestler. He was a superhero. He had abilities that the rest of us — surely for a normal human, it would deplete their energy.”

Foley added that Flair trained like an Olympian back in the day and never missed a workout.

Paige WWE Return

It looks like we may see Paige back in the WWE as soon as Monday night. It’s being reported that the star, who has been on the sidelines since last summer due to Wellness Policy violations and an injury, will be returning this week to WWE’s flagship show. There had been reports of her going to SmackDown Live, but apparently, those plans have been scrapped.

There’s also a rumor floating around that Paige will be the final member of the RAW Survivor Series team, but we will have to wait until RAW to find that out.

Ric Flair Documentary Director Opens Up

Everyone has probably seen the ESPN 30 For 30 documentary on Ric Flair by now, and the director of the project, Rory Karpf, appeared on The Ross Report to discuss his thoughts on Flair.

“Ric’s a very charming guy and you could see before he got sick he was incredibly self-destructive, but he’s kind of like a crazy uncle. That’s how I viewed him. I really like him. It’s fun to be with him. It’s hard to explain, I guess, unless you know him. And I’ve talked to other people that know him pretty well about this. It’s just something you can’t explain why that’s endearing about him. He’s sweet. He’s a sweet man.

“There’s also a real vulnerability there with him that when you get to know him a little bit better, it really comes through and it’s, like, surprising that in a way he’s the most confident person you meet, but also one of the least confident people. I find that very interesting, that dichotomy.”

Wolfgang Injured

It’s being reported that UK star Wolfgang was injured during his WWE UK Championship match with Pete Dunne in Aberdeen last week. There’s no word on how serious the injury is, but it was enough for Wolfgang to be pulled from this weekend’s PROGRESS Chapter 57 show where he was scheduled to face Doug Williams.

Jake Roberts On Ric Flair

Jake Roberts knows all about addiction, so it’s not surprising that he has some thoughts on Ric Flair’s recent health issues. Flair was hospitalized over the summer with some serious health problems that stemmed from his alcoholism. During a recent interview, Roberts said that he had reached out to Flair, but that Flair didn’t seem to want help from anyone.

“I even tried to help Mr. Flair and I hope Ric can do it. He’s sure going at it with the wrong attitude. He thinks he snapped his fingers, that he can just beat it. There’s a lot more to it. … He’s in the hospital and he’s made that decision to quit drinking. My God I made that decision a million times and he thinks that’s all there is to it. There’s a lot more to it because you know why he’s in that hospital, that disease we call alcoholism is outside doing pushups getting ready for him to come out of the hospital. You’re in a guarded position in the hospital. You know, there’s not a lot of alcohol around.”

Ric Flair Returns For Starrcade

It’s been announced that Ric Flair will make his first appearance for WWE since his health care over the summer at this month’s Starrcade show in Greensboro. Flair has been added to the list of legends that will appear at the event, along with The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express, Rick Steamboat, and more.

The New Day Invading RAW

Looks like The New Day is sticking around the RAW brand for a bit longer. The trio will be working the remaining dates on the current European Tour with the RAW roster. This is being done in order to continue the angle that the team started on last night’s RAW.

At this time, it’s expected that the reunited Shield will take on New Day at Survivor Series. We should be seeing that match announced on next week’s RAW after Roman Reigns officially returns to action.

Hideo Itami On His Way To The Main Roster?

We reported last week that WWE was looking at adding some international stars to the Cruiserweight Division, and apparently, that’s closer to happening today. It’s being reported that Hideo Itami will be called up to join the division and 205 Live.

Itami has been plagued by injuries during his NXT run, so hopefully his luck changes when he hits the main roster.

Ric Flair Talks 30 For 30

Ric Flair’s ESPN 30 For 30 documentary premieres on November 7th at 10:00 pm EST, and The Nature Boy has been making the media rounds, promoting the show. During a recent interview, he spoke about the one part of the documentary that was difficult for him to get through.

“The only hard part was what I experienced with the stuff with Reid. I expected negative comments from my kids. That didn’t surprise me and I couldn’t be upset about it. What people need to understand is that I am not a Doctor, or Lawyer, I am a Wrestler.”

Jack Gallagher On Vince McMahon & 205 Live

During a recent appearance on Ring Rust Radio, WWE Cruiserweight star Jack Gallagher expanded on his work on 205 Live and working with the WWE Cruiserweight Division.

“For me, it’s not escaping the division, it’s about elevating it. NXT went from a developmental system which was considered a step-down, to a completely separate brand unto itself where people are stars and they sell out stadiums and they tour by themselves. In my head I think, if we all work hard, then 205 Live becomes good, the division becomes good, the division raises, and then there are more opportunities and then there are more interesting things for everyone as well.”

He also paints Vince McMahon, and his relationship with WWE’s Chairman, in a positive light.

“The relationship with Vince McMahon, he is surprisingly approachable. Growing up watching WWE or WWF as I did growing up, you think of Vince McMahon as this larger-than-life scary character. He is a larger-than-life character, but he is very welcoming, charming, he sits down and if he has time in his busy schedule, which is rare, but if he has time in his schedule, he has time for anyone.”

The long-awaited Ric Flair EPSN documentary is finally premiering on November 7th, and ESPN released the following on the show this morning.

ESPN Films’ 30 for 30 documentary “Nature Boy,” on wrestling legend Ric Flair, will premiere on Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN. Director Rory Karpf (“I Hate Christian Laettner,” “The Book of Manning”) will take an inside look at Flair’s story, including his triumphs, his tragedies, and his pivotal role in turning pro wrestling into mainstream sports entertainment.

Real or Fake? It’s a question that’s long shadowed professional wrestling. But for one of the industry’s most legendary performers, there’s never been any separation between the ring and the world around it. His story starts in the Midwest, when a young Richard Fliehr set his sights on rising to stardom in a unique world, and decided to do anything necessary to get to where he wanted. A character was born, along with a singular desire “to be the man,” and a drive that made him as popular and polarizing as any figure ever to step into the ring. The success took a considerable toll – on his body, and on his wives and children – and in 2013 came a tragic postscript. But today, Flair remains as defiant as ever, proud of his legacy, eager to remain in the spotlight. This is the story of a man, a character, and their unbreakable connection.

“This film was basically borne out of working with Rory Karpf on our ‘I Hate Christian Laettner’ documentary,” says 30 for 30 Executive Producer John Dahl. “Rory interviewed Ric for his take on sports villains and wanted to do a film on him next. After watching that interview for the Laettner film, we were convinced that Ric would be a fascinating subject to explore for our first feature-length 30 for 30 on a pro wrestler.”

“Nature Boy” features two in-depth conversations between Karpf and Flair over a 16-month span, surrounded by interviews with those closest to the man himself; including Triple H, Hulk Hogan, Ricky Steamboat, Baby Doll, Tully Blanchard, The Undertaker, Arn Anderson, Shawn Michaels, Sting and Road Warrior Animal as well as his first wife, Leslie Jacobs, and children along with others who know Flair best.

“I grew up a huge wrestling fan in the 1980s and I was captivated by Ric Flair,” says director Rory Karpf. “It’s been a personally rewarding experience to tell the story of arguably the greatest wrestler of all time. As we have been reporting over the past month, Ric Flair has been hospitalized after some serious health issues. Flair was put into an induced coma, underwent surgery, had part of his bowel removed, and had a pacemaker implanted to keep his heart rate steady after suffering from congestive heart failure due to alcoholism for years.

In a recent interview, Flair talked about everything that had happened and how he came to the realization that he was an alcoholic.

“I didn’t think I was an alcoholic, but obviously I was. I never drank when I was working. But as soon as work was over, I went right to the mill. I’ve never taken a pain pill in my life. I’d just take a shower, flip my hair back and go to the best bar in town.”

Flair is currently convalescing and rehabbing in a recovery center in Atlanta. Of the whole ordeal, he hays it “scared the shit” out of him and stated that he’s “not out of the woods yet.”

As for the drinking, well Flair is vowing to stay away from the liquor from now on.

“I’ll never drink again. I never want to go through this again.”
