Russo is joined on today’s show by Big Vito and his co-host, Jeff Lane.

Russo opens today’s show by saying that Renee Young looked like she “…just came in from out of the freakin’ rain” on this past Tuesday’s episode of Smackdown. He doesn’t understand why WWE is trying to take these beautiful women and make them ugly for television, especially when they have world class hair and makeup people at their disposal.

Speaking about the current state of the United States Championship on Smackdown, Vito suggests that Dolph Ziggler return in a few weeks with a new gimmick, wearing a mask. He’d book Ziggler to win the Title and then he could take the mask off, proving that he’s indeed the greatest in-ring worker in WWE. Russo doesn’t like that idea at all.

Russo isn’t sure what WWE is doing with the ‘Rusev Day’ gimmick right now. WWE probably thinks it’s over because one town started to chant it, but they still haven’t told their audience what ‘Rusev Day’ is. They haven’t explained anything about this to us at all, and all we know is that Rusev wears a shirt with the words on it.

Lane mentions that Smackdown was filmed in Chicago this past week, and those audiences are always louder than the average audience. If we start hearing ‘Rusev Day’ chants all around the United States, then WWE might be on to something. Lane also thinks that this entire thing revolves around Rusev’s ability to entertain people.

During tonight’s episode of RAW Talk, Renee Young asked Kurt Angle about when we could expect to see him step back into the ring again.

Angle responded, “I’m going to have to talk to my wife first. She’s probably really upset with me right now. Once I get her approval, we’ll see what else goes on.”

As previously reported, with Angle finally cleared and in-action, it is very possible that he works one of the upcoming big four events — Survivor Series, Royal Rumble, WrestleMania or SummerSlam.

We reported over the past couple weeks of WWE budget cuts and how the company is hoping to have an improved bottom line profit by the year’s end. Those cuts included pyros, Renee Young’s Unfiltered show, and their weekly Talking Smack series. It was expected that more cuts would be made in the future and we are starting to see more now.

WWE has now decided to cut Cathy Kelley’s NXT Insider show that aired on social media platforms. Cathy responded to the recent cut on Twitter with the following remarks:

We have also heard that these changes to the budget have sidelining future projects. The company has decided to drop R-Truth’s game show idea and it’s now being said that plans for a weekly UK show are on the back burner for now. Jim Ross, who was expected to be announcing for the weekly show, mentioned on his podcast that he does not know where things stand with the show.

It will be interesting to see what else the company cuts moving forward.

“The Nature Boy” Finally Airs

After what seems like a long delay, ESPN has confirmed the air date for its 30 for 30 documentary about “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair. Aptly titled “Nature Boy,” the 30 for 30 episode will air Tuesday, November 7, at 10 p.m. EDT.

In a statement from ESPN, 30 for 30 Executive Producer John Dahl said the documentary film was created after working with director Rory Karpf on other projects and realized Flair “would be a fascinating subject to explore for our first feature-length 30 for 30 on a pro wrestler.”

Karpf had previously interviewed Flair on the topic of sports villains and later discovered he wanted to do a film about “The Nature Boy.” He explained:

“I grew up a huge wrestling fan in the 1980s and I was captivated by Ric Flair. It’s been a personally rewarding experience to tell the story of arguably the greatest wrestler of all time. Ric’s story transcends the wrestling business, and my hope is that it will appeal to wrestling and non-wrestling fans alike.”

The documentary film features an in-depth conversation between Karpf and Flair during a 16-month span. Interviews were also done with Arn Anderson, Baby Doll, Hulk Hogan, Ricky Steamboat, Shawn Michaels, Sting, Road Warrior Animal, Tully Blanchard, Triple H, The Undertaker, and members of the Flair family.

Renee Young Moving Brands?

WWE revealed SmackDown Live interviewer Renee Young will also appear frequently on the RAW brand on Monday nights. She was seen during this week’s RAW, much to the surprise of viewers. Young also posted a photo with RAW interviewer Charly Caruso.

The Baby’s Eyebrow

On late Wednesday morning, people got to see a new image of Brie Bella and Daniel Bryan’s new baby, Birdie Joe Danielson, show off a characteristic from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Birdie Joe is shown raising her right eyebrow, similar to the fashion The Rock would raise his brow during his WWE segments. Johnson was quick to response to The Bellas’ picture, commending the beautiful baby’s eyebrow is “way better” than his eyebrow could ever be.

The New “Talking Smack”

One of the top stories this month is WWE’s cancelation of the weekly edition of “Talking Smack.” The WWE Network-exclusive program would feature SmackDown Live superstars to follow up and expand on storylines and give talent a less scripted platform to work on. Talking Smack will only resume after pay per views with the SmackDown Live roster.

Renee Young and Daniel Bryan, who were the usual co-hosts of the show, were disappointed with the news but returned with a “rogue” edition of the new “Smacking Talk.” Following last night’s SmackDown Live, Daniel Bryan and Renee Young premiered its new show on Twitter. The short episode made fun of RAW’s Kurt Angle and Jason Jordan storyline, this time with Bryan revealing he’s Chad Gable’s father. Gable didn’t buy it, but it made for a fun premiere.

Talking Smack wasn’t the only WWE Network show to be cancelled, as the company decided to canceled Renee Young’s “Unfiltered” series.

While responding to questions from fans on Twitter about the cancellation of Talking Smack, Renee Young revealed that her WWE Network Series Unfiltered has been also canceled.

Renee Young On Talking Smack’s Cancellation

WWE fans were met with the surprising news of Talking Smack’s cancellation as a weekly series on Friday, and perhaps one of them was co-host Renee Young. As Top Rope Press reported earlier today, Talking Smack’s last episode as a weekly series ended this week, and the show will proceed to air after SmackDown Live pay per views on the WWE Network. Young, who co-hosted the show along with Daniel Bryan and occasionally Shane McMahon, JBL, and one time with The Miz, tweeted her reaction.

Seth Rollins On Wanting To Wrestle The Rock

Seth Rollins created a bit of a stir recently when he spoke of wanting to get The Rock in the ring. In a recent interview, Rollins explained why he wanted to face the WWE legend and current Hollywood superstar.

“I think everyone respects Rock He’s obviously been in our industry his entire life in some form or fashion. He’s a guy that works really hard and most of our performers can appreciate that one way or another, whether it’s in the movie industry or our industry. He’s a legend, Hall of Famer, dude who’s paved the way for generations of us to be pro wrestlers, so I think it’s really cool for me when he comes back and being able to work with him in any capacity.”

Tag Team Title Match Set For WWE RAW

WWE has announced that the Hardy Boyz will be challenging Sheamus and Cesaro for the WWE RAW Tag Team Titles tomorrow night on RAW. This is a rematch from Extreme Rules when the titles switched hands in a steel cage match.

The Hardys (at least Matt) are expected to be working a light schedule in the coming weeks. If you haven’t been following the brothers on Twitter, Matt’s wife Reby recently gave birth to the couple’s second child.

Renee Young Leaving Total Divas

Renee Young recently commented on Twitter on the rumors that she will not be returning to Total Divas on the upcoming season. As we previously reported, the show will be adding Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax as cast members for the new season. We already knew that Eva Marie would no longer be on the show due to her expected departure from WWE when her contract expires, but Renee Young is a bit of a surprise.
