As seen at Saturday’s NXT Takeover: Philadelphia event, WWE introduced War Machine, Ricochet, and EC3 on the big screen in between matches. It was previously reported that War Machine would be receiving new names once they arrived to the company and we can confirm that is still the plan.

Dave Meltzer reported on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio that the company decided to introduce them as “War Machine” at Takevoer so that they could get a reaction from the fans in attendance. The belief is no one would really know them by their original names. The plan is still to repackage them with a new name once they make their in-ring debuts on weekly NXT television.

Regarding EC3, Meltzer said that he could see them keeping that name because it’s well established but WWE may still decide on changing it. Meltzer also indicated that Ricochet will definitely be receiving a new name once he debuts.

It was announced earlier this week that Enzo Amore was released of his WWE contract after allegations of rape charges surfaced online against the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion.

Dave Meltzer discussed the allegations on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio and revealed that not too long ago Enzo was actually trying to get out of his WWE deal. Enzo apparently wanted to quit the company so he can focus on becoming a rapper full-time.

In regards to Enzo’s future, Meltzer said he can now pursuit a career as a rapper or he could possibly make good money on the indie scene but that’s if the charges against him are dropped.

Dave Meltzer mentioned on the latest installment of Wrestling Observer Radio that everyone involved in the women’s Royal Rumble match is wanting to know exactly what’s going on. Many “sense” that Ronda Rousey will be debuting in the match and possibly winning it.

Meltzer discussed the spot that saw Asuka dominating the other women on Monday’s RAW, and it seems to suggest that she won’t be winning The Rumble as WWE usually doesn’t telegraph their outcomes in that manner.

On scenario presented is that Rousey could appear in the match along with Asuka and be the last two competitors. Rousey would throw Asuka over to win and then in the weeks following, Asuka could be Alexa Bliss for the RAW Women’s Championship, setting up a title match against Rousey at WrestleMania 34.

During the latest installment of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed Chris Jericho’s status for the RAW 25th Anniversary show and described the situation as “up in the air” for right now.

Meltzer said that as of Friday there wasn’t a finalized deal for Jericho to appear at the event. Meltzer said that both parties are still negotiating for the appearance on Monday and WWE will do everything they can to bring Jericho in because they are advertising him for the event.

During the recent installment of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the upcoming RAW 25th Anniversary show that takes place on January 22nd and indicated that we will probably see a “DX” reunion angle on show.

Meltzer explained that WWE is advertising “DX” Shawn Michaels and not Shawn Michaels for the event. X-Pac and The New Age Outlaws are also being brought in for the show, so it’s possible they do a full DX reunion with all the members of the group instead of just Shawn and Triple H.

This will be Billy Gunn’s first appearance for the company since they fired him back in November of 2015 after he tested positive for elevated levels of testosteroneat a powerlifting event.

As seen on WWE television this week, Goldust wrestled a cruiserweight match on RAW and then again on this week’s episode of 205 Live.

Dave Meltzer discussed Goldust’s status on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio and indicated that Goldust will be working 205 Live events moving forward, even though he doesn’t meet the weight requirements and clearly isn’t a cruiserweight. The belief is that any established RAW talent working 205 Live has more chances of bringing in viewership and increasing ticket sales than someone who only works the 205 Live shows.

– After Vince McMahon sold 3.34 million shares of his stock on Thursday to help fund his new XLF project, the price for WWE stock dropped to $29.55.

Taz opens today’s show by addressing his future since there are a number of changes coming to The Taz Show in 2018.

Taz informs that beginning in the new year he will be debuting a new show entitled ‘Taz & The Moose” with Marc Malusis, which will be a morning drive sports show airing daily on CBS Sports Radio from 6-9 AM. Taz points out that this is an enormous opportunity for him, and it’s a huge step in his broadcasting career so he couldn’t be happier.

Taz points out that Malusis has been a guest on The Taz Show in the past, and he has a great appreciation of the wrestling business. Malusis is not a narrow-minded sports fan, and that’s something that Taz really respects.

He goes on to say that it’s quite rare for a National broadcast company to take someone with a shortage of sports radio experience and throw them into the fire of a huge morning show like CBS is doing with him. He takes great pride in the fact that he’s one of the first professional wrestlers to make the jump to National sports radio.

It was noted a few months back that Rey Mysterio was in talks with WWE about a potential return to the company. During today’s mailbag segment of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer was asked if there was an update between Mysterio and WWE.

Meltzer explained that there are no plans for Mysterio to return to WWE at this time and negotiations are pretty much non-existent. Mysterio has plans for the next several months that do not involve WWE. Meltzer said that if WWE was to offer Mysterio a $3 million dollar per year deal, Mysterio would come back but it’s very unlikely WWE would offer him that dollar amount.
