PWG’s Battle Of Los Angeles 2017 is in the books, and tonight, Ricochet won the tournament, becoming the first 2-time winner in the tourney’s history. He managed to overcome Jeff Cobb and Keith Lee in the finals and walked out of Reseda with the trophy.

BOLA Quarterfinals: Ricochet defeated Dezmond Xavier.

BOLA Quarterfinals: Travis Banks defeated Marty Scurll.

BOLA Quarterfinals: Keith Lee defeated Donovan Dijak.

BOLA Quarterfinals: Ray Fenix defeated Zack Sabre Jr.

BOLA Quarterfinals: Jeff Cobb defeated Sammy Guevara.

BOLA Quarterfinals: Matt Riddle defeated Penta el 0M.

BOLA Semifinals: Ricochet defeated Travis Banks.

BOLA Semifinals: Keith Lee defeated Ray Fenix.

BOLA Semifinals: Jeff Cobb defeated Matt Riddle.

Chuck Taylor, Flamita, Joey Janela, Mark Haskins, and Flash Morgan Webster defeated Brian Cage, Sami Callihan, Trevor Lee, WALTER, and Jonah Rock.

BOLA Finals: Ricochet defeated Keith Lee and Jeff Cobb (Lee eliminated Cobb, and Ricochet rolled up Lee for the win).

After his win, Ricochet cut a promo, calling out PWG Champion Chuck Taylor. Ricochet said he was coming after Taylor’s title before he “moves on to bigger and better things”. Let the speculation from all corners begin on what Rico meant by that.

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla’s 2017 Battle Of Los Angeles continued tonight in Reseda with more first round tourney matches and a main event that saw Kenny Omega return to PWG and team up with The Young Bucks to square off against Rey Fenix, Flamita, and Penta El 0M. In the main event, apparently the ring broke and Fenix took out one of the ceiling lights when did a moonsault to the floor off the top turnbuckle, but the 6 men were able to finish the match without incident (and without injury to anyone involved, thankfully).

Donovan Dijak defeated Trevor Lee.

Sammy Guevara defeated Joey Janela.

Travis Banks defeated Mark Haskins.

The LDRS (Zack Sabre Jr. and Marty Scurll) defeated Ricochet and Matt Sydal in a non-tournament tag team match.

Jeff Cobb defeated Sami Callihan.

Matt Riddle defeated Michael Elgin.

Keith Lee defeated WALTER.

The Elite (Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks) defeated Rey Fenix, Flamita, and Penta El 0M.

The 2017 Battle Of Los Angeles will continue tomorrow night with the finals, and the 2017 BOLA winner will be crowned.

And yes, I will be purchasing the Night Two DVD simply for the Keith Lee/WALTER match and the main event. They are more than worth it.

PWG Battle Of Los Angeles Night 1 Results

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla kicked off this year’s Battle Of Los Angeles last night, with top indie wrestlers from all over the world converging on Reseda for the annual tournament. Night one featured some of the tourney’s first round matches, along with a tag match that pretty much stole the show.

  • Dezmond Xavier defeated Brian Cage.
  • Marty Scurll defeated “Flash” Morgan Webster.
  • Rey Fenix defeated Rey Horus.
  • Penta el Zero M defeated Matt Sydal.
  • Zack Sabre Jr. defeated Jonah Rock.
  • Ricochet defeated Flamita.
  • Chosen Bros (Jeff Cobb & Matt Riddle) defeated Donovan Dijak & Keith Lee.

First round matches will continue tonight, with the finals and the 2017 winner crowned on Sunday.

Ric Flair Health Update

Ric Flair posted his first message on social media earlier today, updating everyone on his health in an upbeat video message that also plugged a new shirt from his merchandise line.

Ric looks a bit frail, but he appears to be in good spirits. He was hospitalized last month for a myriad of health issues. He is currently undergoing physical therapy and is not expected to be released any time soon. We will keep you updated on his progress as he continues to recover.
