Dolph Ziggler’s recent actions have led to loads of speculations being made throughout the wrestling community. One of the notable ones came from his close friend and former WWE Superstar Ryback.

On the recent edition of his podcast, Conversation with The Big Guy, Ryback revealed his thoughts on the recent turn of events.

The former Intercontinental Champion voiced his concern over his friend’s uncertain future, advising him to take a vacation to the Bahamas:

“I personally think he should take a little break. I think he deserves a break. Whether he resigns or not I think he should take some time off, at least 6 months. I want to see him in the Bahamas just drinking. I say take a year off. He is still young enough.”

Ryback also said that taking a break from wrestling helped him get to a better place physically and provided the reason why Ziggler needs to take a break:

“When you are there for quite some time it’s okay to take a little break, whatever your reasons are. I always say that you work so hard in life and that everyone wants to talk about the grind, but you have to enjoy life. What is the point of making money if you can’t enjoy it? You are going to get to a point when you are 50 and realize you missed out on your best years. Not to say that you have years ahead of you, but stepping away and getting out of the bubble will open your eyes and see the light that is out there. There are always ways to make money and wrestling is always going to be there.”

Matt Morgan recently spoke with the Wrestling Inc. Podcast. Here are some highlights from the interview:

WWE officials telling him to start wearing a mask to improve his character: “They put a mask on me, first they said because it was going to improve my body language. What? Anyways, you shut up and do what you’re told. So I went to wrestling practice with a hood and a mask, and then I’d be on TV with a mask,” Morgan explained. “So Jim Cornette was like, ‘How the hell do I explain this? You’re the top babyface, you’re the champion, what do I do?’ So I lost a Loser Leaves Town match, come back as The Blueprint and wear a hood and I’m not Matt Morgan anymore, I’m just The Blueprint.”

The mask being part of the plan to turn him into Kane’s Brother: “The cool part was they were going to turn this into, I was gonna be Kane’s brother Abel,” Morgan said. “And I would’ve killed for that! I would’ve worn a hood gladly for that just because I’m a huge ‘Taker and Kane fan. What leads to Kane leads to ‘Taker, right? Nine-year-old Matt Morgan inside was going bananas.”

So what happened?: “Vince (McMahon) stepped in and came up with stuttering Matt Morgan.”

It was reported last week that WWE may have put the WWE Championship Title on AJ Styles because the lack of interest in the upcoming Survivor Series event and/or the poor rating for the Halloween edition of SmackDown.

Edge mentioned on Podcast of Awesomeness that it may have actually had to do with the USA Network debuting a new television show directly after SmackDown Live this week. Edge would then reveal that it wouldn’t be the first time WWE has helped out the USA Network, as they have done so in the past with the debut of Shooter.

“I think there’s probably a few factors that go in. I think USA was debuting a new TV series after, and while some of you may scoff and say WWE wouldn’t change their business for that, yes they would. Shooter was debuting, and they stacked the 900th episode of SmackDown. That’s why I was there, that’s why Taker was there. They’ll do those things because they’re on the USA Network, and USA asked for a favor, so they’ll do them a favor.”

Jack Swagger spoke with the Arm Drag Takedown Podcast. Here are some highlights from the interview:

How wrestlers cope with their artistic temperaments: “I like to think of pro wrestling as an art, so we’re artists. Most artists I know put their love and heart into these things, and to repeatedly have that swept away or get crushed, it gets a little much to deal with.”

What he hopes to gain from his new career on the indies: “There are so many styles out there I haven’t gotten to wrestle against or experience. I really want to take it all in and take the rollercoaster ride on a little journey and develop a pro wrestling character that can’t be stopped.”

Cody Rhodes being his chief inspiration for his departure: “He has a very good brain for this business – he always has – and he really knew his game plan and what he wanted to do. He executed it very well.”

Facing Jeff Cobb at Clash At The Cow Palace: “Everyone I know says Jeff Cobb is the strongest person in the ring and the way he throws them around…I’ve got Jeff Cobb in the back of my mind,” he concluded. “I’m really going to have to step my game up and see what this suplex party is all about.”

While appearing on Lilian Garcia’s Podcast, Alicia Fox revealed that she didn’t like the way she came off as a “drunken nut” to the viewers that watched Total Divas.

“I was on it and I didn’t like the way I came off,” she said. “Not because of their editing, but because of myself. I didn’t like seeing where I was at that point. I thought I looked like a crazy young drunken nut. Trust me, I have those moments still, but I didn’t like everyone else seeing that.”

She continued, “That made me feel very uncomfortable. It’s still kind of uncomfortable because you think there were more wrestling fans because it’s my real job, but there’s more Diva fans in some cases and all they want to say is, ‘Oh my gosh, you and Paige are so nuts!’ Or if I’m at a bar or restaurants, they’ll send shots. I don’t like that. I think it relates to where I was in that state of mind and I couldn’t help but to blame my environment.”

...

On the recent episode of E&C’s Pod Of Awesomeness, WWE Hall Of Famer Edge talked about the feud between WWE SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon and WWE Superstar Kevin Owens, and the WWE Chairman taking a headbutt from Kevin. Edge also talked about Vince McMahon supporting him during his first championship tenure.

Edge says the headbutt angle was surprising to him and that Vince has faith in Kevin Owens. Edge says that heis interested in what Vince said to Kevin before taking the headbutt, because Vince said some motivational words to him before he was going to cash in his Money In The Bank briefcase.

“Hell of a headbutt. I didn’t see that one coming. Yeah, yep. So here’s the thing: they built it throughout the show, which was great. And it seems like they’re pulling the trigger on Owens. Like, properly now. Not that he… I mean, he held almost every title in the company already, he basically been champion the entire time he been there, but I mean, this, this is a next level type of thing. I’m assuming main eventing Hell In A Cell pay-per-view with Shane now and if anyone is a master of making sure people get put over in matches, it’s Shane. Here’s what I really want to know – I want to know what Vince was saying to Kev right before the headbutt because you can see he’s laying something on him and I know how Vince talks like that. Like when I came out and handed in the briefcase, he says stuff to you and it’s motivating stuff, so I’d really like to find out what was said there.

Edge goes on to say that Vince told him to “prove him right” because Vince had faith in Edge over his decision to push him, while the others at WWE didn’t share the same thoughts as Vince and believed the push was “too soon” for Edge.

“‘Prove me right. Prove me right.’ because he was the only one that was in my corner. Everybody else either thought it was too soon after nine years with the company, or didn’t think it was going to work, or whatever. I mean, if I was going to have anybody in my corner, he’s the right guy to have and, thankfully, I did prove him right. But hearing that, right as I was about [to cash in], I was ready to chew the world apart, so I’d really like to know what that dialogue was because he’s not going to put somebody over that strong unless he sees something.”

Edge stated that this feud could make Kevin Owens a “made man”.

“Good angle. It will be interesting going forward after Hell In A Cell where Owens goes because it could be argued that he got jumped passed the world title in terms of like, whoa, I don’t want to say ‘importance’, but in terms of interest. It will be interesting to see going forward because it could make Kevin a made man, basically going off of this and if it’s continued because work-wise, he just keeps doing what he’s doing. Maybe, yeah… And he’s a heel, which is not the case a lot nowadays. Like I’ve said, there are not too many heels and he’s one of them.”

While appearing on The Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling podcast, Stevie Ray was asked about his immediate reaction to the botch “N” word promo by Booker T on Hulk Hogan. Stevie revealed that he didn’t realize that he had said it at first because he was too focused on his own lines.

“I really don’t care about that question because that’s got nothing to do with me. That is more of my brother’s thing. That is more of a question he might have gotten tired of. When people ask me about and ask what was I thinking? I wasn’t really thinking about it because I am getting ready to do my lines. It doesn’t really bother me that much and it’s funny (man) but people ask me what was I thinking? I wasn’t even listening. I am waiting to do my lines so in essence I’m not sitting there and listening to him like a fan at home is listening to him, I am listening to him subconsciously because I am waiting to do my lines for when Mean Gene comes to me. I am not sitting there listening to him word for word and I didn’t even realize that he had did it for a minute because with the clip on YouTube it cuts off before Mean Gene gets to me but if you watch the show I had a little soliloquy of what I was saying but Iknow we had to say something about Hulk Hogan and it is right before we had to go out and work so that is probably why it got so messed up because I think my brother was thinking about two different things entirely. But that is more of my brothers shtick, not mine.”

Stevie also commented on the clip circulating all over social media and revealed that he forgot about the promo until it came up on YouTube.

“In all actuality, I had actually forgotten about that until it came out on YouTube several years later. People started telling me about it but it was just a night. I swear to God, I was just doing a story last night on my podcast and somebody sent in a question that made me remember a story that I didn’t remember until I read it. It triggered something in my head. That is just me. I’ve told people a thousand times that I have never taken pro wrestling home with me and it is just the job that I go to and when I am there I am all in and when I am not I am all out.”

In the recent installment of the E&C Podcast of Awesomeness, Edge revealed that he spoke with TNA Wrestling back in 2008 & 2009 and mentioned that the company wanted to sign him.

“Interesting little tidbit here that I don’t even know how much [Christian] know[s], if [Christian] even know at all, to be honest. I don’t recall talking to [Christian] about it. I don’t know how word gets out on contracts being up and things like that, but there was one point where my contract was coming up and TNA reached out to me, and [Christian was] there, so they reached out to me, and they told me numbers, and schedule, and all of these things. And for me, at that point, schedule was the thing that I was like, ‘well, that’d be a whole lot easier on the body’ because I was getting pretty beat up. It’s like [Christian] said, I started with WWE in ’97. At that point it was like 2008 or 2009. I can’t even remember. It’s a long time. Now, there [were] breaks because of injuries, but that was my body saying, ‘take a break dude,’ and I never did until something broke.”

He continued, “The idea that [Christian was] there, and the opponents. If I went there, there’s [Samoa] Joe, there’s AJ [Styles], there’s a lot of fresh things to do, but for whatever reason, from day one WWE felt like my home. It felt like the place that I’d always wanted to get to. I did those two TV matches in WCW against Kevin Sullivan and Meng and within five minutes of walking into that locker room I was like, ‘I don’t want to be here – I could tell this is not the place for me.’ And the dream was still WWF and getting there. And then, finally seeing the inner workings and then working into a position where I was one of the main event guys and I was factored in, it just felt like they did put that faith in me, that they did pull the trigger with me for whatever reason they did and I felt like I can’t look that gift horse in the mouth. And sure, there was work involved, but ‘I got to stick it out here and I got to stay here. I just want my career to be here and nowhere else.’ But for [Christian], I do believe that was definitely the right thing to do.”

Intergender wrestling offends me; however, if someone was to offer, I don’t know if I’d say ‘no’ because that’s the challenge. We can’t be stuck in one mindset. Just the concept of a man touching a woman. I don’t know. I’m very conservative. I don’t know.
