Ross informs that AXS TV is going to have a 3-hour WrestleKingdom 12 Special on Saturday, Jan. 6th. Ross mentions that the highly anticipated match between Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega will be one of the matches that will be presented during the 3-hour special. Ross says he’s really looking forward to calling these matches with Josh Barnett.

He was quite excited to see ‘Woken’ Matt Hardy make his debut on WWE programming this week. He says that this is a very original, compelling character and Hardy should be very proud of what he’s accomplished in creating this character and successfully brining it to Monday Night RAW. Ross says he’s very proud of what Hardy has accomplished in the business, and he compares Hardy to Chris Jericho in the sense that he continues to successfully redefine his character.

Ross says he has heard rumours that Alberto El Patron is planning to retire in the next couple of years. He points out that El Patron has had a very long, successful career and he’s made a lot of money so he should be able to retire comfortably. However, he adds that wrestlers say they’re planning to retire all the time only to continue working for another decade, so he’ll wait for the official news before believing that El Patron is actually hanging up his boots.

While participating in Impact Wrestling’s conference call this week, Alberto El Patron was asked about his ex-girlfriend’s return to WWE programming and said that she’s doing a fantastic job.

“It’s fantastic, it was just about time. I used to say this all the time, people forget that she had neck surgery, screws behind her neck,” El Patron said. “That’s the reason why she was out of the business and it takes time to recover from something like that and then she started working really hard for her big comeback, and now she’s there. She’s doing what she has been doing since the beginning of her career in WWE. She’s killing it, she’s doing a fantastic job. I said it before and I’ll say it again, she has all the potential to be the most successful Diva of all time. We have to give her time.”

As previously reported, Paige revealed a few weeks back that she is single but didn’t elaborate when exactly the split took place.

It appears that Paige is finally done with Alberto El Patron after their long rocky relationship that has gone public on several occasions.

Paige’s friend Jenna posted a video on Snapchat Thursday night in which Paige joked about another couple making out and responded by saying, “this is why I’m single.”

Paige and El Patron were engaged to be married but this would pretty much confirm that the two have split. As of this writing, neither Paige or El Patron have commented publicly on the matter.

It was previously reported that Alberto El Patron would have a role of sorts at next month’s Bound for Glory event.

Apparently there has been a lot of debate regarding how exactly the company will utilize him on the show. One idea being tossed around is to add him to the Eli Drake vs. Johnny Impact match. There has also been talk of making him the special guest referee for the bout. Nothing has been announced yet.

Impact Wrestling is hopeful that El Patron’s return will make a big splash and the company is looking to get as much as possible out of it.

GFW executive John Gaburick revealed during a recent conference call that Alberto El Patron will return to the company at the Bound for Glory pay-per-view event on November 5th. Gaburick said they have exciting plans for Alberto’s future and as a creative team they look forward to coming up with “really cool scenarios and stories for him in the coming months.”

Original plans for Alberto called for him to face with Jeff Jarrett or Rey Mysterio at Bound For Glory. Both of those scenarios appear to be nixed now.

PWInsider reports that Alberto El Patron still has 6-8 months left on his contract with Global Force Wrestling.

While there were plans for Patron to work the November 5th Bound for Glory event, there has also been speculation that he could be done with the company altogether. It will be interesting to see if Patron returns to GFW television at Bound for Glory of the television tapings that take place that same week.

As reported earlier, Jeff Jarrett is taking a hiatus from Global Force Wrestling and it’s believed the decision was made just hours prior to the announcement. Jarrett posted the following this morning:

PWInsider indicated that Global Force Wrestling was planning on doing a match between Jarrett and Alberto El Patron as early as the upcoming Bound for Glory event. The original plan was for El Patron to be brought back in a storyline feud where he would be feuding with the company over his recent suspension. Those plans are likely to be put on the back burner or nixed all together.

Alberto El Patron’s lawyer has sent a letter to Global Force Wrestling that questions why he is still suspended from the company when he was not charged in the airport incident with Paige.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there are constant issues with El Patron. While many of these issues happened outside of GFW, there was a blow up backstage between Alberto and Paige several weeks ago. In addition to that, there have been other incidents that have happened that have gone unreported but people in the company know about them.

There fear within GFW is that another incident will happen. Several promoters have chosen not to book for him for that same reason.

While it’s not been officially announced exactly what they intend to discuss, one could speculate that they will probably be addressing the stories surrounding the recent domestic violence incident at the Orlando airport or El Patron’s Global Force Wrestling suspension.

Alberto El Patron is no longer being investigated for the airport incident that went down earlier this month.

Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that they were informed by a representative from the Orlando Police Department that El Patron is no longer being investigated and Paige is the one that will be charged with battery if authorities decide to move forward with the case. The State Attorney’s Office is currently reviewing the case before a final decision is made.

Pro Wrestling Sheet noted that they reached out to Global Force Wrestling regarding his suspension being lifted now that the charges have been dropped.
