X-Pac opens today’s show speaking about his experience at RAW25. He says he had a great time but he’s still tired from all the flying. He was so excited and riding a high after appearing on RAW and he flew out of New York at 7 AM the next morning, so he didn’t really sleep at all prior to catching his flight.

He gives WWE credit for trying to broadcast live from two different buildings, but there’s no denying that this was was going to be a difficult feat from the beginning. There was also so much hype and promotion for this show that it was going to be hard for it to live up to the expectations. He thought WWE delivered in terms of nostalgia.

X-Pac informs that The Miz and Ric Flair were not originally booked to appear at The Manhattan Center. They were last minute additions in order to give the fans at Manhattan Center more bang for their buck.

X-Pac has heard some criticism of the show, specifically WWE’s inability to take advantage of the additional viewers in order to hype the current product and the Royal Rumble. He can understand these frustrations, but he points out that it’s tough to fit all of the legends on the same show in which you’re trying to hype a major PPV.

Russo opens today’s show by speaking about The Emmys. He says he’s not a ‘Trump guy’, but he thought it was embarrassing that the entire show was dedicated to ripping the President of the United States and Leader of the Free World. He thought this was outrageous, and in years past this would have been called treason.

Russo really thought WWE’s tribute to Bobby Heenan on Monday Night RAW was very well done. Heenan is irreplaceable, and there’ll never be anyone like him again. What really bothers Russo, is that nobody is trying to be entertaining like Heenan anymore, and that’s too bad. He wonders when WWE took the ‘entertainment’ out of ‘sports entertainment’.

Speaking about this week’s RAW, Russo says this was basically a placeholder in order to get to No Mercy. The storylines didn’t advance and nothing really happened. He says that this was a very poor effort for WWE, and they’re going to have to do much better than this with the Fall television lineup now kicking into high gear.

Russo says he worked an independent booking in Nashville over the weekend. He was initially booked to referee the entire match but he’s been bothered by vertigo lately, and he didn’t want to be doing that much movement because he was afraid he’d pass out during the match. He recalls Ric Flair collapsing in a match one time years ago due to vertigo.

Russo is joined on today’s show by former WWE Superstar Big Vito.

Russo says that he didn’t watch the Mayweather/McGregor match over the weekend because there’s no way he was going to spend $100 on a boxing PPV. What he doesn’t understand about the outcome is that a lot of people were predicting this exact thing to happen. He points out that all the parties involved would benefit from rigging this fight and he doesn’t rule out the thought that this might have been a work.

Vito disagrees and says these guys were trying to hurt each other in the ring. This was a legitimate boxing match that turned out better than most people anticipated. He gives credit to McGregor who transitioned into an entirely new sport in order to make this fight happen.

Russo talks about the recent backstage heat on Superstars such as Enzo Amore and Baron Corbin. What he can’t understand about both of these situations is the fact that WWE is punishing them weekly on WWE programming, which in turn hurts their own product and potentially costs them ratings and money. He thinks it would make a lot more sense if WWE would simply fine these guys or deal with the issue internally backstage, instead of intentionally hurting their characters on screen.
