No doubt after departure of major NXT talents, things are getting a bit slower but HHH made it clear that his brand is not going down. Moments after the NXT Tag Team Championship match, Seth Rollins ran into the ring at NXT Takeover: San Antonio and called Triple H out.

The commentary team was running down the next match when Rollins ran in and called for HHH to come to the ring, and demanded that they fight on the spot. Rollins said he knew where to find HHH and he wanted to settle things since HHH took everything from him. HHH did end up coming to the ramp, but a group of security guards flanked him, and HHH gave the word for them to go to the ring.

Rollins tried to fight back but was forced out of the ring

For the last few months or so NXT, the developmental brand of WWE, has been experiencing somewhat of a lull per se. Ever since the brand extension, the brand named ”NXT” has not been living  up to the standards it has set in the past.

Surprisingly, ”The Game” Triple H recently admitted in a media call that he is unhappy with the current state of NXT.

While the brand split has done wonders for both WWE SmackDown Live (to a great extent) and WWE Raw (not so much), it has left the developmental brand of WWE hanging out to dry. With the recent call-ups with the likes of Finn Balor, Bayley, Alexa Bliss; NXT is left with a void that has become difficult for the officials and talents to fill.

Triple H recently participated in a media call prior to NXT TakeOver: San Antonio. He admitted publicly that he was not happy with the current state of NXT.

During the call, Triple H was also quoted as saying:

“I’m not happy with where it is right now by far. I want it to be much better than it is, but it’s a rebuilding process. All these things going on, they all make changes in the ecosystem. Where everything lands at the end of the day is a moving target”

Triple H also said that they were currently in a rebuilding stage for NXT and mentioned that they were targeting for some changes to the show:

“There are some things and some changes that I’m hopeful will happen sooner than later that will expand it and make the show better”

 

With the Royal Rumble this Sunday, one has to wonder what state NXT will be in after the PPV. It is possible that some of the talents from NXT might get a call-up to the main roster and those talents might be surprise entrants in the Rumble Match.

This Saturday, WWE NXT TakeOver: San Antonio event will air live on the WWE Network headlined by ”The Glorious” Bobby Roode challenging ”The King of Strong Style” Shinsuke Nakamura for the biggest prize in the NXT Universe, the NXT Heavyweight Title.

While ”The Empress of Tomorrow” Asuka will face three challengers and try to retain her spot atop the NXT Women’s Division.

This year after being rumored to face John Cena, AJ Styles, Roman Reigns and even Braun Strowman, the latest to join the LIST is SAMOA JOE.

Something out of the box but The Inquisitor reports that

WWE could be setting up Samoa Joe to face The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 33 in Orlando. The possibility is exciting and intriguing, especially because it’s a match that a lot of WWE fans never thought they’d see. Not only that, but it’s a matchup many fans haven’t thought about before. If WWE officials are planning Samoa Joe vs. Undertaker, it would be something career defining for both wrestlers.

Now Samoa Joe is one of the hottest property in NXT and is most credible heel in the whole WWE which ultimately puts him to face someone who is legendary like The Undertaker, keeping in mind Joe’s past record in indy circuits and TNA.

As far as The Undertaker is concerned it could be the last time we see him at Wrestlemania, and The Phenom must be looking forward to face someone who is seen as a legit wrestler for the future of WWE. The company will pay extra attention to not lack in rigour when they frame Undertaker’s match this year. We need to wait and watch how the cipher is going to be.

It appears he’s set for a program with the current NXT Heavyweight Champion ‘The King of Strong Style’ Shinsuke Nakamura.

Triple H welcomed Hero back to WWE NXT with this tweet:

Also, WWE posted the video of Nakamura celebrating and several people in attendance noted that the celebration was after the tapings. That’s when Kassius made his return. It’s still possible the segment was taped for the January 25th episode but there’s speculation that they may air his return as ‘bonus footage’ in an upcoming episode.
