Welcome to the Raw-exclusive PPV, No Mercy, which promises to be one of the year’s biggest shows!

It’s been a long time coming but tonight we finally get to see Braun Strowman go one-on-one with Brock Lesnar. This is one of those matches in which the fans chant “This Is Awesome”, long before the two men even tie-up. This is a massive main event and a really important one for Strowman. Can the monster among men hang with The Beast? And should he lose, how does WWE craft a scenario in which he still comes out better than he went into the match? It’s all very intriguing and I for one would love to see Braun snatch the strap from Lesnar and have a rematch at TLC next month. Who do you want to win? What kind of carnage do you expect to see? Carrying on the thread of matches we’ve been waiting to see, John Cena has returned to Monday Night Raw and he has one clear goal: knock Roman Reigns down a peg. These two have had a scintillating month of promo’s back and forth, which Cena clearly won, and WWE has been wise to keep them from touching in the interim. I have no idea who will walk out the victor tonight, my gut tells me Reigns but I hope I’m wrong because I think Cena is still the better competitor, in every way. This is a WrestleMania calibre match and here it is, not even the main event! What a night we’re in for.

No Mercy 2017 will also bear witness to a Fatal 5-Way for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship; Alexa Bliss defends against Sasha Banks, Bayley, Emma, and Nia Jax. This is a curious match that feels a little thrown together. I’m hoping the women can pull off something special but another title change might lessen the belt, considering how much it’s changed hands as of late. I’m not sure if this is an elimination rules match, or if it’s one-fall wins the whole shebang. Let us know who you want to see walk out with the strap.

On the rest of the No Mercy card, we have Jason Jordan challenging The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship, Ambrose & Rollins defending their tag titles against Sheamus & Cesaro, Finn Balor Vs. Bray Wyatt, and Enzo Amore taking on Neville for the Cruiserweight Championship. The main card begins at 8pm ET, but the Kick-Off Show airs at 7pm ET and it will feature Elias Vs. Apollo Crews. Rhodes Family Not Too Thrilled About WWE Resurrecting Starrcade

As we reported this morning, WWE has resurrected Starrcade and will be having the show as a WWE Network special on November 25th, from The Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. After news broke of the show coming back under WWE’s name, Cody and Brandi Rhodes took to Twitter to let their opinions on the matter be heard.

Starrcade was one of the brain children of Dusty Rhodes while he was with the NWA and Jim Crockett Promotions, and the annual event was the flagship show of the promotion until the final one in 2000. Kind of surprising that Hayes responded to Cody, though. It’s probably more like rubbing salt in a wound, though.

Updated No Mercy Card

With Bayley’s return from injury on tonight’s RAW, the line-up for Sunday’s No Mercy has changed. She has been added to the RAW Women’s Title Match, making it a Fatal Five Way. Also, Jason Jordan won the main event to win a shot at Miz’s IC Title on Sunday.

WWE Hell In A Cell Announced

WWE announced that they will be returning to Detroit on October 8th at the Little Ceasers Arena for this year’s Hell In A Cell PPV. This year, WWE Hell In A Cell will be a SmackDown Live exclusive PPV.

Latest Broken Hardys News

This is the story that just won’t go away. Shock of shocks, all four of the initial trademark applications that Global Force Wrestling filed for in relation to the “Broken Universe” have been denied by the USPTO.

The “Broken Matt” trademark was denied due to it being too similar to the “Broken Matt Hardy” trademark that Matt Hardy himself filed for first. In order for GFW to get the trademark they applied for, they have to indicate whether the trademark refers to a living person, and if so, Matt would have to sign off on it since his application holds precedence.

“Brother Nero” was denied because GFW did not indicate whether or not is was going to be used to identify a living person. If it does, then they will need Jeff Hardy’s consent.

“Broken Brilliance” was refused due to GFW failing to specify whether or not the term has any significance in professional wrestling or is just a “term of art” in the business.

“Vanguard 1” was denied due to its similarity with a non-wrestling trademark.

All four trademarks received initial refusals due to the wording used for identification and classification and goods being too broad in the initial filing. The USPTO has asked for additional clarification on all of the filings.

John Cena At No Mercy

John Cena will be making his first appearance on a RAW brand PPV since the draft split last year. He’s being advertised for September’s No Mercy PPV in Los Angeles.
