The company issued the following storyline statement regarding Lashley’s status with the company:

“IMPACTWrestling.Com received the following message from Jim Cornette, “due to the heinous actions of Lashley and American Top Team on IMPACT Thursday night, we have made the decision not to give Bobby his unconditional release from his valid contract. Lashley will be at our disposal when required. That is all.” What that means is Lashley remains under contract. Stay tuned for more.”

Bobby Lashley and American Top Team both responded to the statement with the following remarks:

Shinsuke Nakamura recently told the Hindustan Times that the UFC offered him a contract back in 2005. Nakamura revealed that he turned down the offer and that he doesn’t regret that decision.

The King of Strong Style had a 3-1 MMA record during his first stint in NJPW. His wrestling style is also similar to that of an MMA fighter.

Here’s what Nakamura told Hindustan Times:

“Around 2005, UFC offered me a chance to fight for them. But, at that moment, I was under contract with NJPW and I decided to stay in pro-wrestling. It was a good opportunity, but I don’t regret my choice.”

Additionally, Nakamura revealed that he has no plans for MMA at this point in his career:

“You have to understand that I am 37-year old now. It has been a long time since my last proper MMA training and although I still train in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, it will take me at least one year to be ready for a proper fight. That is not something I want to do as I am happy in WWE.”

Former SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch recently had an interview with Al Arabiya English where she talked about different wrestling topics. Lynch was asked about Ronda Rousey potentially joining WWE with recent rumours that Rousey is training with Brian Kendrick for a career in pro-wrestling, and about the possibility of other MMA stars joining WWE.

Becky says that she would be happy if women’s wrestling gets more attention that it deserves if Ronda and other MMA stars join WWE. She also says if the former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda will have to prove herself in a whole different way if she wants to come to the WWE.

“I feel like if it’s going to get more eyes on us, then that’s wonderful. What I want to see is women who are passionate about this, and that they’re doing it for the right reasons, and that they care about this business because we have been busting our tails for the past four years to make sure that women are seen in a different way and women are seen in a different light.

“And of course, Ronda, with all she’s done for UFC, would be a great asset. I can’t diminish her accomplishments at all because she’s incredible in her own right. But this is our sport, and coming in here you have to prove yourself in a whole different way.”

Previously Working With Mayweather: “Yeah, Floyd got involved then. I trained Floyd to step into the ring with The Big Show, which was a big highlight for me, and he did. He got it the ring at our Super Bowl, Floyd is a big fan and has a huge respect for what we do, we have stayed in touch over the years, and here he is getting thrown out of the ring by the Big Show. At the level of athlete that he’s at, for Floyd to agree to that kind of stuff was amazing for us, but you know he’s a huge fan and couldn’t have been more engaged in what we do. The Mayweather / McGregor fight, people can say what they want, but it’ll be entertaining.”

Possibility of doing a match with boxing star Gennady Golovkin (GGG): “It would be the perfect fight, we have a little beef over the three letter thing going on, maybe. It’s funny you should – we had a date at Madison Square Garden for GGG’s last fight and we made an arrangement to allow GGG to have that date for his last fight – there’s a little bit of history there. I’d love to get in the ring with him and see what we can do.”

According to The Sun, WWE recently reached out to UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and presented him a huge offer, which the Superstar refused.

A source told The Sun, “WWE has made no secret of its desire to do something with Conor McGregor and there were talks between the two parties about this year”. “Because he’s taking time off from the UFC, there was a talk about doing something at this year’s Wrestlemania in April, but it wasn’t to be despite a hefty offer.”

”The Game” Triple H admitted on public record that he would be interested in having McGregor make some WWE appearances when he attended UFC 205 last November at The Garden.

“He [McGregor] could come over, he’s got it all, man – he’s got the personality, the skills, the talk. He’s an entertainer, for sure,” HHH told The Telegraph. “What does he walk around at? 180lbs? I have smaller guys now in the WWE. We have 200lb guys who are stars. You don’t need to be 300lbs any more.”

“He could do just as well as Floyd Mayweather when he fought the Big Show. That really worked. Conor could do it for sure.”

Conor McGregor pushed the buttons of many professional wrestlers when he ripped the business in August 2016 while promoting UFC 202, where he emerged victorious over Nate Diaz in the marquee bout of the night.

He said that some WWE guys are not right in the head, and that the ”new era stars” are “dweebs.” He added that the old school guys – like ”The Nature Boy” Ric Flair – are legends and called the McMahons “Dons.”

Now, the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency has done the same. USADA gave Lesnar a one-year suspension for his use of banned substances prior to his bout against Mark Hunt at UFC 200.

Lesnar originally won the contest, but that result was reversed to a ‘no-contest’ after the failed test. His NAC suspension runs retroactive for a year from July 9, while the USADA suspension began July 15.

USADA statement regarding Lesnar is as under:-

“USADA announced today that UFC athlete, Brock Lesnar, of the Brooklyn Park, M.N., received a one-year sanction, pursuant to the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, after testing positive for a prohibited substance on two occasions.
“Lesnar, 39, tested positive for clomiphene and its metabolite, 4-hydroxyclomiphene, following an out-of-competition urine test conducted on June 28, 2016, and an in-competition urine test conducted on July 9, 2016, at UFC 200 in Las Vegas, Nev. Clomiphene is a prohibited substance in the category of Hormone and Metabolic Modulators and is prohibited at all times under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, which has adopted the WADA Prohibited List.
“Lesnar’s one-year period of ineligibility began on July 15, 2016, the date on which he was provisionally suspended by USADA, and is identical in length to the sanction imposed by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) on December 15, 2016. In addition, the NSAC overturned Lesnar’s victory at UFC 200 to a no-contest.
“Pursuant to the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, all UFC athletes serving a period of ineligibility for an anti-doping policy violation are required to remain in the USADA registered testing pool and make themselves available for testing in order to receive credit for time served under his or her sanction. Furthermore, if an athlete retires during his or her period of ineligibility, the athlete’s sanction will be tolled until such time the athlete notifies USADA of his or her return from retirement and once again makes him or herself available for no-advance-notice, out-of-competition testing.
“USADA conducts the year-round, independent anti-doping program for all UFC athletes. USADA is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental agency whose sole mission is to preserve the integrity of competition, inspire true sport, and protect the rights of clean athletes. In an effort to aid UFC athletes, as well as their support team members, in understanding the rules applicable to them, USADA provides comprehensive instruction on the UFC Anti-Doping Program website regarding the testing process and prohibited substances, how to obtain permission to use a necessary medication, and the risks and dangers of taking supplements as well as performance-enhancing and recreational drugs. In addition, the agency manages a drug reference hotline, Drug Reference Online, conducts educational sessions, and proactively distributes a multitude of educational materials, such as the Prohibited List, easy-reference wallet cards, and periodic athlete alerts.”
