As previously reported, Daniel Bryan had a huge shift in the betting odds over the past couple of days and is now one of the favorites now to win the men’s Royal Rumble match at next Sunday’s pay-per-view.

Bryan Alvarez indicated on the recent installment of Wrestling Observer Live that someone within WWE pitched the idea of having Daniel Bryan win the rumble. Word got out about the pitch among individuals that work for the company and they decided to place bets on him winning the match. This caused a huge shift in the betting odds in favor of Bryan winning.

As of this writing, Bryan is still not cleared to return to in-ring action, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out on television.

While speaking to the New York Post, Kane talked about his WWE Universal Title match at next month’s Royal Rumble event and mentioned that it could be his last appearance at the event.

“I have to take advantage of everyone that comes along. This might be the last one. I don’t know. I certainly think the match at Royal Rumble is going to be special for me.”

Kane continued, “I’ve been in WWE for 22 years and that’s a long time and I still think I perform at a high level,” he said. “But nevertheless, it’s a long time and I know I don’t have many opportunities like this left.”

While many are speculating that the recent NXT call-ups to the main roster was done to beef up the main roster for a Women’s Royal Rumble match next year, that’s not the case.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest installment of Wrestling Observer Radio that there are currently no plans at all to have a Women’s Royal Rumble match in 2018. However, with WWE constantly changing plans, nothing is certain until we get closer to the event.
