Bobby Roode will face Jinder Mahal on next week’s episode of SmackDown Live. The winner of that match will be crowned the new WWE United States Championship title. Roode defeated Mojo Rawley and Jinder Mahal defeated Xavier Woods to earn the opportunity at the championship.

Update: Daniel Bryan announced after Roode’s victory that the new United States Champion will be crowned on tonight’s show.

WWE has announced that both WWE US Title tournament matches will broadcast on next week’s episode of SmackDown Live. Those matches are Bobby Roode vs. Mojo Rawley and Xavier Woods vs. Jinder Mahal. The winners of those matches will face will face off in the finals at the Royal Rumble even on January 28th.

WWE also confirmed Becky Lynch, Naomi and Charlotte Flair vs. Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan will take place on the show.

There was speculation among several websites (not us) that The Singh Brothers may have been injured recently and that’s the reason why they missed this weekend’s WWE Live Events that they were previously advertised for.

According to The Wrestling Observer, the duo is not injured and the company decided to not have them appear on the events. What’s next for the Singh Brothers remains to be seen. We noted last week that there futures are in question now that they are no longer aligned with Jinder Mahal. There is a chance that they could end up back in NXT to develop new characters.

PWInsider indicated that The Singh Brothers may be done with WWE following Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live.

WWE has apparently wrote them off television after losing a handicap match to AJ Styles and then being attacked by Jinder Mahal on this week’s show. There was talk a few weeks back that they were going to be replaced as Mahal’s seconds by other talents within the company but those talks have quieted down.

The Singhs were originally brought in as part of the Cruiserweight Classic and were briefly part of 205 Live before being shifted into the role of Mahal’s seconds.

While speaking to Times of India, Kane talked about former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal and mentioned that WWE Superstars should strive to be more like him.

“He was in the WWE years ago, then left company. And then really improved both in his wrestling and his body and came back and became a world champion. I think a guy like Jinder Mahal is really what every WWE superstar should strive to become.”

Kane also talked about Braun Strowman and predicts that he will be one of the greatest big men ever.

“Braun Strowman is doing a great job and he is going to have great career in WWE. I think at the end of the career he will be known as one of the great big men ever.”

Jinder Mahal announced on tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live that he will be invoking his rematch clause against AJ Styles for the WWE Championship Title at the upcoming WWE Clash of the Champions pay-per-view event.

X-Pac opens today’s show by commenting on the news that Jack Swagger has signed a multi-fight contract with Bellator MMA. X-Pac says that Swagger is a legitimate bad ass, and he thinks this is a better signing for Bellator than Ryback would have been, just based on the fact that Swagger was a star in the collegiate wrestling scene.

X-Pac mentions that according to reports, Neville might not be finished with WWE after all. Apparently Neville was frustrated with WWE denying his requests to work on side projects so he walked out. X-Pac says that Neville has to make a tough call now because money isn’t everything, and your happiness and sanity is more important. The door might be open for Neville to return to WWE but he obviously hasn’t been happy there for a while, so this is a big decision for him.

X-Pac believes that Jinder Mahal dropping the WWE Title to A.J. Styles on Smackdown Live last week has made a big difference for the live events in India. X-Pac thought that Mahal would be chasing the WWE Title in India, battling A.J. Styles at the live events. That isn’t the case but WWE still has to have him in a high profile match, so competing against Triple H makes sense.

Changes keep coming for WWE shows. The Times Of India is reporting that one show for the upcoming WWE India Tour has been canceled. The December 9th show in New Delhi has been canceled, and the December 8th show is now being called a “Supershow”.

In response to the changes, WWE says:

“To meet the requests of WWE fans in India, and deliver the biggest main event in the country’s history, WWE is combining two nights of family-friendly action into a one-night only, exclusive Supershow.”

The fans who bought tickets for the show on December 9th can either exchange their tickets for the show on the 8th, or they can get a refund.

Also of note is that Kevin Owens has been taken off the card completely. He was originally scheduled to take on Jinder Mahal in the main event, but he’s been replaced in that match by Triple H. Whether this is in response to his being sent home from the recent European Tour or it was due to poor ticket sales for the India shows is unknown.

As for the current card…well, it’s always subject to change.
