Cody Rhodes indicated on Twitter that The Bullet Club is in Atlanta tonight, which is the same city that RAW takes place. Rhodes posted the photos of the group in front of a Cracker Barrel with the captions “Atlanta” and “Family lunch,” as you can see below.

As many are aware, the last time the Bullet Club was in the same city as RAW, they “invaded” in a move reminiscent of D-Generation X’s WCW invasion. The move got the group a lot of attention, though it also resulted in the Young Bucks receiving a cease-and-desist over the use of the “Too Sweet” hand gesture and got Jimmy Jacobs fired from the writing team.

Another source also confirmed to PWInsider that they saw Tessa Blanchard backstage as well.

According to PWInsider, former WWE creative writer Jimmy Jacobs is expected to be coming in for this week’s Impact television tapings and could be starting as early as tonight’s Bound for Glory event. Jacobs worked in Illinois last night for AAW, so it wouldn’t be an impossible task to get to Ottawa.

There is a trailer backstage at the event marked “DO NOT ENTER”, so the company could be hiding someone backstage.

Cody Rhodes Extends Invitation To WWE & The McMahons

Pro wrestling is set to invade the San Antonio area in November for Survivor Series weekend. Ring Of Honor will also have a presence that weekend, with The Bullet Club and ROH World Champion Cody Rhodes heading the card. ROH put out the following message about their show on November 17th, the night before NXT TakeOver: WarGames.

Ring of Honor brings the Survival of the Fittest Tour to San Antonio on November 17th. Tickets are moving fast: https://t.co/TWVUKCv6v9 pic.twitter.com/3I5EKrV0aH

Cody graciously offers free tickets to anyone with the name McMahon for the show.

“The company that I used to work for, they ignored all other companies, right? And then they stole all of my dad’s ideas. We want everyone to come to our show, including The McMahons. We are offering free tickets, comp tickets.”

Yes, this is a bit tongue-in-cheek, but in every joke, there’s a little bit of truth. When seemingly confronted with his supposed “bitterness” towards WWE, Cody had the following to say:

It's not bitterness to compete or dare to dream. Me/my crew can't be touched right now & I don't mind telling the world. "Step on toes" -VKM https://t.co/2hoksMyzhH

— Cody Rhodes (@CodyRhodes) October 24, 2017

Jimmy Jacobs On His Role In WWE

Jimmy Jacobs, who exit from WWE came over a picture with members of The Bullet Club, did his first interview since leaving the company, and he doesn’t seem all that bothered with the new direction his life and career has taken.

“I love it. I didn’t mind the schedule, or the work. It was a seven day a week job, and it was a life and I didn’t mind it being a life. It wasn’t the schedule, but there’s a certain appreciation of having freedom. When I started my WWE job at 31, I took my earrings out because you are supposed to look nice. Before I went into work two weeks ago, I went and got my ears pierced again. Later that day I got fired. My point in saying that is I was ready to be me again.”

Jimmy Jacobs Crashes WrestleCircus’ Party

Recently “freed” former WWE writer Jimmy Jacobs seems to be popping up everywhere since he and WWE parted ways. Last weekend, it was at ROH War Of The Worlds, and tonight, it was WrestleCircus in Texas. Jacobs showed up at the end of Sami Callihan’s match and proceeded to take Callihan out.

”For the last two years, I’ve been writing promos for guys who couldn’t hold my microphone.”

He then encouraged fans to take pictures with him during the show’s intermission. Apparently, his “You’re Fired Selfie” is a big thing these days.

Bobby Lashley On Bound For Glory

During a recent interview, Bobby Lashley talked about stepping into the Six Sides Of Steel at next month’s Impact Wrestling Bound For Glory.

“It’s home for me. It’s not a big deal for me. I was ready for almost anything. I’ve had little feuds with Moose from time to time, and I think Moose is a great competitor. However, right now my game is at a very high level so I don’t think anybody can really match the level that I’m at. It’s just for me, I just have to decide what I’m gonna do. That’s the big thing that’s been going on right now. It’s, am I going to go full time wrestling or am I gonna go full time fighting, but I think the pay-per-view is going to definitely determine what I do.”

Jimmy Jacobs On His WWE Departure

We reported over the weekend that Jimmy Jacobs and WWE had parted ways after Jacobs posted a photo of himself with the Bullet Club members during their “RAW Invasion” a few weeks back. In his first interview since his release, he clarified the issue and said it was no mistake.

“It’s nothing that I’m gonna get into, but I’ll say this: no mistake was made. I am A-OK with the way that everything went down.

“It (the photo) was given to me as the reason. I’ve read a couple reports from a couple other places saying that there were things leading up to it, that this was the straw that broke the camel’s back. If it was, I’m not aware of any of that, but it’s certainly possible. Who knows? But, yeah, it was because of the picture, for sure.”

Sounds like Jimmy knew exactly what he was doing.

WWE Posts Quarterly Dividend

WWE issued the following about their quarterly dividend earlier today:

10/19/2017 – STAMFORD, Conn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– WWE (NYSE: WWE) announced that its Board of Directors today declared the Company’s regular quarterly dividend of $0.12 per share for all Class A and B shares of common stock. The record date for the dividend will be December 15, 2017 and the payment date will be December 26, 2017.

On a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, Chris Jericho gave his opinions on recent WWE departures. As far as Neville goes, Jericho doesn’t seem too surprised.

“It doesn’t surprise me because I think a guy like Neville, whenever I worked with him we had great matches. He reminds me a lot, actually, of working with Chris Benoit in that he’s very hard-hitting, he’s very solid, very graceful and not stiff in the least, just a really innovative, smart worker. I think he wasn’t really getting his shot in the WWE, and the cruiserweight thing is fine but let’s be honest, it is what it is. I think there’s a lot higher potential for a guy like Neville in the ring and also the character.

“If he left you know that he’s gonna be one of those guys like Cody Rhodes, guys like the Young Bucks and Will Ospreay and Marty Scurll that are making a choice not to be in WWE and proving that it’s not the be-all, end-all if you’re not there. Look at Tommy (Dreamer) with House Of Hardcore, very successful outside of the reigns of the WWE.

“It’s a big step, it’s like walking off the side of a building and being told that there’s a net at the bottom, but you can’t see it. So you don’t know for sure if he’s making the right decision as of right now. But talent-wise, character-wise and intelligence-wise, he’s got all three of those things. So he’s not making this decision lightly, and I think wherever he ends up he’ll be probably a bigger star than he was before just by getting a bigger opportunity.”

During another media appearance, he also talked about WWE firing Jimmy Jacobs.

“Jimmy’s good and if I was there I would’ve tried to help him out, but it’s not the smartest of moves. If I work at McDonalds and post a picture of me hanging out with guys from Wendy’s and hashtag ‘Wendy’s is great,’ McDonalds might not be too happy about it.

I think Jimmy’s a smart guy and maybe wouldn’t surprise me if he knew something was going to happen. Maybe he was getting sick of it, I don’t know. I just know as soon as I saw that picture, I was just like ‘ooof,’ with the hashtag ‘#BCInvasion,’ you can’t do that man. I mean, you can’t. Was it a fireable offense? Well, it’s not my decision, obviously Vince thought it was, which tells me there was probably some other stuff going on and that was the final straw.

And I will say this, last year, 2016, Jimmy Jacobs was my co-writer on all of it. All of it! And the weeks he wasn’t there I was like ‘Ah f**k, I don’t like this, I want Jimmy.’ So he’s very talented, and he really got me. I worked with him a few times and I went to [head writer] Dave Kapoor, I want Scoville, which is his real name, Chris Scoville, on every Jericho promo. No one else. Because that’s how much I trusted his talent, his instincts.”

Block 1:

Taz opens today’s show speaking about WWE releasing writer Jimmy Jacobs. During The Bullet Club’s invasion of RAW last week Jacobs made his way out to the crowd and took a picture with his former colleagues. Jacobs then posted this picture on his Instagram and WWE clearly didn’t take kindly to this.

In Taz’s opinion, Jacobs had to know that WWE was going to be furious with him doing what he did. He suspects that perhaps Jacobs was looking for a way out of WWE because working for that company isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be at some points. Jacobs is a smart guy and he had to know that if he went out and took a picture with The Bullet Club he was going to be fired.

Taz continues by pointing out that Jacobs already has a new shirt for sale on ProWrestlingTees.com and this might have been his whole plan right from the beginning. Taz still doesn’t understand why WWE was so angry about this ‘invasion’ anyways, and if he was running things he would have just invited them into the building that night.

He points out that a lot of people are calling WWE petty since they first sent a cease and desist letter to The Young Bucks and now they’ve released Jacobs. While Taz agrees with the sentiment that those actions could be considered petty, he also points out that WWE has to protect their assets. On the other hand, he mentions that WWE is the top dog in the wrestling business and that’s not going to change in our lifetimes, so perhaps they shouldn’t be so worried about acknowledging other promotions.

Jimmy Jacobs & WWE Part Ways

It’s being reported that Jimmy Jacobs is no longer with WWE. Jacobs joined WWE back in 2015 as a writer, but it looks like he’s no longer part of WWE’s creative team.

Apparently, his photo op with the Bullet Club when they did their invasion at RAW a few weeks ago didn’t go over too well with management, and Jacobs either quit or was fired last week.

I’m going to throw my two cents in here and say how petty this is by WWE, especially if Jacobs lost his job over this one thing. Remember DX “invading” WCW back in the day? WWE is just garnering a hell of a lot of bad publicity for themselves with fans with the things like this and the cease & desist on The Bucks. For an entity that touts “entertainment”, WWE can’t take a little fun in stride.

Kazuchika Okada On LIJ & The Younger Generation

As we saw at King Of Pro Wrestling earlier this week, Kazuchika Okada had a successful IWGP Heavyweight Championship defense against EVIL, and the main event for WrestleKingdom 12 has been set. After Tetsuya Naito’s successful defense of his G1 Climax title shot against Tomohiro Ishii, the leaders of CHAOAS and Los Ingobernables de Japon will meet for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship in the main event at The Tokyo Dome on January 4th.

Okada gave his thoughts on LIJ in a recent interview.

“Well, they’re certainly popular, there’s no doubt about that. You see LIJ shirts at all the venues, and even outside of wrestling on the street there are LIJ shirts and caps. They’re super popular. But as an actual team … I think they’re still a little too soft. Well, generally speaking, they’re a young team. They should be really representing what the present and future of wrestling is, but I’m not sure that’s something they’re getting across to the fans. CHAOS aren’t as young as them, maybe we don’t beat them in terms of speed, but we have a lot more up our sleeves. That’s what makes us a great team.”

He also spoke on the younger generation in NJPW stepping up to challenge him.

“I think whatever field you’re in, you always need something new, always need change. That’s how something everyone loves and that’s what’s inspirational. I don’t want fans in the future to say ‘Okada was cool, but after that…’”
