While speaking to Cerrito Live, James Storm was asked about possibly returning to NXT and mentioned it’s definitely a possibility that he could return to that brand.

“People always say, ‘main roster or bust type of guy,’ but if you look at NXT, it’s one of the hottest things going right now no matter what people say. And it’s one of those things where anybody would be proud to be signed to NXT and have a good run there. I mean, it’s plain and simple. They are doing as much as the people on the main roster is on the road and stuff like that right now. So, I mean, I’d definitely go and work with those guys and help them out as best I can.”

Storm also talked about his next move and revealed that he wants to keep it under wraps and make it a surprise.

“There are a lot of companies and the funny thing is that I’m now free to talk and negotiate with other companies and actually go work for other companies. But right now, I think I kind of want to keep it under wraps, make it a surprise where old James Storm pops up.”

Storm explained, “I just want to be a surprise because today, especially in our social media world, there [are] not that many surprises anymore. And because everybody wants to be cool and I always say, ‘people are wrestling for the likes and the retweets’ or GIFS, whatever they call those things these days. But to me, I always try to keep stuff kayfabe and keep stuff secret until it happens or whatever, so it’s even cooler when it’s a surprise.”

...

Block 1:

Taz opens today’s show speaking about WWE’s release of James Ellsworth. He says that nobody expected Ellsworth to make it to WWE, not to mention the fact that he picked up a win over A.J. Styles and had a great, extended run. Taz says it sucks that WWE released him because you never want to see someone lose their job, but Ellsworth appears to be a very smart guy and he’ll do great on the indie scene.

Taz points out that Mauro Ranallo made a huge error during his commentary on last night’s go-home episode of NXT. At one point he promoted NXT Takeover: War Games which will air this Saturday night, but when he promoted it he said it will air ‘A week from Saturday’. Since NXT’s shows are taped together weeks in advance, the dates for each show can become confusing for commentators, but there’s no way that this slip up should have made it to air last night.

He points out that this may not have even been Ranallo’s fault. He may have been incorrectly told that date was correct prior to the tapings, and since NXT is taped weeks in advance, some parts of the show that aired last night may have originally been intended to be a part of last week’s show. This would have made Ranallo’s comment factual.

In either event, this comment should have been edited in post production prior to last night’s show airing. This type of error should never make air on WWE’s programming, especially from a company that prides itself with perfection.

WWE announced today that they have released James Ellsworth.

“WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Superstar James Ellsworth. WWE wishes Ellsworth the best in all of his future endeavors.”

As previously reported, Ellsworth’s contract with the company was rumored to be up and it’s very possible that the reason he was released is because the company didn’t want to renew their deal with him. We will keep you updated if we hear anything else regarding his release from the company.

During today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the Bayley vs. Mickie James vs. Dana Brooke triple threat match that took place on Monday’s episode of RAW. While Bayley ended up getting the victory in the match and earning the spot in the traditional 5 vs. 5 Survivor Series spot, the outcome of this match changed two previous times.

Meltzer said original plans had Bayley winning but WWE changed their minds and wanted to have Paige return and win the match instead. Officials decided then again to change the outcome and went with Bayley, despite the company bringing Paige in on Monday night.

PWInsider indicated on Monday that Paige sharing backstage photos of her with Alicia Fox prior to her return could have changed the plans to bring her back on Monday’s show.

Block 1:

A listener calls into the show and mentions that he was excited to see A.J. Styles defeat Jinder Mahal to claim the WWE Title on Smackdown Live this week, but at the same time, he hopes Mahal doesn’t fall back down into a mid-card role now. Taz says he really doubts that’s going to happen because WWE has invested too much television time and money into Mahal to let him slip back into a mid-card role.

Taz points out that James Storm has reportedly left Impact Wrestling, and he thinks there’s definitely a possibility that we could see Storm back in WWE. He’s not sure what happened during Storm’s recent, short run in NXT, but he thinks there’s a chance that Storm could have another opportunity in WWE.

As for the rumours that Storm should team up with Bobby Roode and re-form Beer Money, Taz doesn’t think that’s going to happen. He says that Roode has had a great singles run since signing in NXT and then transitioning to the main roster. Roode has a great singles gimmick right now, and there’s simply no need to team these guys back up.

Dave Meltzer reported in Wrestling Observer that there were plans as of two weeks ago to induct a new Hall of Famer at the upcoming Bound for Glory event.

James Storm was rumored to be the next inductee earlier this year, given that he’s bee with the company from the start and is still there. However, Meltzer said that the word going around now is that it could possibly be someone else going in instead.
