Indie wrestler Joey Ryan took to his Twitter account and sent out a series of tweets explaining why he he has no desire to join WWE. Ryan indicated that low wages and injuries are two of the factors in his decision not to sign with the company.

WWE appears to be interested in signing Fred Yehi to a development contract with the company.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Fred Yehi is expected to be the next major indie name that the company wants to bring in. In the past, Yehi has been a major part of the WWN shows, working FIP, EVOLVE and Style battle.

Jericho welcomes Cody Rhodes to the show.

Rhodes says he’s going by just ‘Cody’ right now because he couldn’t bring himself to ask WWE officials if he could use ‘Cody Rhodes’. He thinks they would probably grant him the rights to that name if he really asked for it, but he was happy enough to simply go with ‘Cody’.

Rhodes informs that he was recently part of a ROH television taping, where they taped several week’s worth of shows in the same day. He says they debuted the ‘Ring of Honour’ on these tapings and he thought that went over very well. He gives props to that audience because they stayed alive and active through several episodes worth of matches.

During this indie run Rhodes informs that he has modelled himself after Vince McMahon, Ric Flair and other old school personalities who looked at professional wrestling as a business, and always looked presentable and respectable wherever they went.

Rhodes says he left WWE because it was simply time. He started in WWE when he was 19 and he was there for 11 years. He was growing tired and knew it was time for a change. He worked with Zack Ryder on an episode of Superstars in his last match and after the match Mark Carrano walked past him and said, “I’ll see you tomorrow” and Rhodes responded, “No you won’t”.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Matt Sydal suffered a dislocated shoulder at the most recent set of GFW Impact Wrestling tapings.

While there are no exact details of how the injury occurred, it’s believed that it may have happened during the last mach of the tapings. That match featured Sydal teaming with Sonjay Dutt & Alberto El Patron to take on the team of Trevor Lee, Low Ki and Bobby Lashley.

Sydal worked an indie match last week in Israel but was limited in what he was able to do inside of the ring. He is currently scheduled to face Ricochet at a UK indie show tonight.

Former WWE Superstar Rene Dupree wrote the following on his Facebook page in regards to Randy Orton’s negative remarks about indie wrestling:

When you were hired You were a Fat slob, I just won The Canadian Bodybuilding Nationals and Qualified for the Worlds You had ZERO matches I had 500+ You Wouldn’t Last 1 Japanese Tour I’m on 49 tours and You counting If HHH wasn’t Such a mark For Your Daddy, You would’ve been FIRED YEARS Ago And You’re NOWHERE near the worker your Father was You’re Bashing indie Guys, Do what I did Grow a set of Balls Go Out And Prove You’re Special Cause I’m Sorry Bud , but The chin lock you use Is BORING as A Shit! BURNING BRIDGES??? I don’t give a **** #TRUTH”

Dupree also posted the following:

“Another thing that i forgot to mention….

What Randall Doesn’t realize (BECAUSE HE NEVER WORKED OUTSIDE OF THE STAMFORD Company) Is That most independent wrestlers Rely on Selling their Own Merchandise to make $$$ He Wouldn’t know Would He??? So Putting on Exciting High Risk matches Is What They Need to do I have an Valid Opinon on this Because Ive Done Both Am I Right or Wrong???”
