Impact Wrestling returns tonight for its first episode since last Sunday’s Bound For Glory. Here’s a non-spoiler preview for tonight’s show.

• Impact Champion Ei Drake celebrates his Bound For Glory victory.
• Johnny Impact confronts Alberto El Patron, who cost him the Impact Title at Bound For Glory.
• Gail Kim retires after winning the Knockout’s Title at Bound For Glory.
• Matt Sydal vs Sonjay Dutt.
• Pro Wrestling NOAH GHC Champion Eddie Edwards defends his title against Hijo de Fantasma.
• Impact Tag Team Champions oVe and Sami Callihan in action.

Backstage Notes From This Week’s Impact Tapings

Impact Wrestling is in the midst of television tapings this week in Ottawa that will take them through the remainder of 2017. Apparently, Scott D’Amore has taken over the reigns as the head of creative for the company this week, and there are some rumblings about the amount of attention being paid to Canadian stars, with the old guard from the Nashville days wondering if they are going to get pushed out.

Jimmy Jacobs has been on hand this week as a producer for the tapings. There’s no word as of yet what, if anything, his role with the company will be going forward.

Alberto El Patron has left Ottawa, so he will not be at the final tapings tonight.

The road to this Sunday’s Bound For Glory in Ottawa continues tonight on Impact Wrestling. All of the final build for the big show will happen tonight, and we will see more international action as Impact joins forces with Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan. The following matches are scheduled for tonight’s show.

• Johnny Impact & Global Tag Team Champions oVe vs LAX & Global Champion Eli Drake
• Moose competes in Pro Wrestling NOAH
• Garza Jr. vs Desmond Xavier vs Sonjay Dutt vs Petey Williams vs Matt Sydal vs X-Division Champion Trevor Lee

More Impact Wrestling Departures

Everyday, it seems like more and more people are leaving Impact Wrestling. Over the past couple of months, Low-Ki, Rockstar Spud, Taryn Terrell, Eddie Kingston, Robbie E, Jeff Jarrett and Reno Scum have all cut ties with the promotion for various reasons, and now there is news of more.

Referee Brian Hebner has announced he is leaving the company, along with referee Robert King, and X-Division wrestler Marshe Rockett. No reasons for these departures have been given, but at this rate, one has to wonder if Impact Wrestling will actually have a roster by the time that 2018 rolls around.
