Former ROH Talent Donovan Dijak Makes NXT Debut
…
As seen this past week, Kenny Omega defeated the likes of Michael Elgin, Jay Lethal and Tomohiro Ishii to become the inaugural IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion. Just days after this momentous victory, it is being reported by Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer that The Cleaner’s first defence might take place at Ring of Honor.
Meltzer also predicted that the first one to challenge the Cleaner for the championship should be none other than the Aerial Assassin, Will Ospreay. The two have had a phenomenal match in the past at a PWG Event.
Would you like to see The Cleaner and The Aerial Assassin go at it for the newly made IWGP USA Championship? Sound off in the comments!
The following names are now free agents after their contracts with Ring of Honor have expired and could be on their way to WWE in the near future:
Kyle O’Reilly
Adam Cole
Hanson Rowe
Raymond Rowe
The belief is that any of these guys could end up in WWE, presumably the NXT brand. We will keep you updated if we hear anything regarding their status.
Former Ring of Honor wrestler Bobby Fish has been spotted at Full Sail University, which NXT tapings.
According to our correspondent at the event sent word that he was seen speaking to producer Ryan Katz. While it’s not confirmed, it is very possible that he could make his debut at tonight’s tapings. As of this writing it is unknown if he signed a deal with the company. It’s worth noting that The Wrestling Observer reported back in March that he didn’t want to sign a full-time deal with ROH because it may tamper with his chances of getting hired on by WWE.
We will keep you posted if we find anything out.
Aside from WWE being interested in signing Adam Cole to an NXT developmental deal, there is another wrestler that they are also interested in.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dalton Castle is on their radar and the company may attempt to pursuit him. It’s being said that his deal with Ring of Honor is up this month and WWE has shown “great interest” in him. The feeling is that he could be a major Superstar in NXT if the two agree to a deal.
If WWE does decide to reach out to him, he will not be debuting for the company right away if a deal is signed. WWE has a new policy where talents must wait at least 90-days until after their ROH contract runs out to appear on their television. This was done because of past legal issues between WWE and Ring of Honor.
