* Kiera Hogan and former WWE referee Marc Harris officially began with the company tonight.

Dave Meltzer mentioned in the latest installment of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that rumors of AJ Styles possibly facing John Cena at next year’s WrestleMania 34 event are incorrect.

Meltzer wrote, ”I’m told that right now that is incorrect, and Cena is in a much bigger match than Styles. The only thing I was told is it will be clear within a few weeks what that match is.”

Meltzer mentioned The Undertaker, Batista, Goldberg and possibly Hulk Hogan as opponents for Cena at Mania’.

Hulk Hogan took to Twitter to tease that he will be making new deals and closing deals this week. He didn’t exactly elaborate on what the deals were exactly but it’s worth nothing Dave Meltzer mentioned a few weeks back that WWE was “revisiting” the idea of bringing Hogan back to the company. It will be interesting to see if this is related.

Austin informs that the Ric Flair 30 for 30 documentary brought back so many great memories for him because he grew up watching and wanting to be Ric Flair. In the early part of his career he even modelled his character off of Flair, but he admits that he couldn’t come close to what Flair accomplished with that type of character. He says that Flair is his favourite professional wrestler, and he considers Flair to be the greatest of all time.

He considers Flair’s career to be amazing because of the length of his in-ring career as well as the things he was able accomplish throughout the years. He was a travelling World Champion who’d work 60-minute broadways night after night before transitioning into the later part of his career in WCW and WWE, where he’d go on to entertain another generation of fans.

Austin says it was great to see Hulk Hogan give Flair so much praise during the film because those two men were presented as bitter enemies and fierce rivals throughout the entirety of their careers. They shared the prime of their careers but they really weren’t ever enemies, and it was wonderful to hear how much respect Hogan has for Flair.

As previously reported, Hulk Hogan and Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake got into a heated Twitter war and resulted in Hogan threatening to sue his former best friend over details that will be published in his tell-all book. There was also an issue between the two that stemmed from Hogan spending time with Beecake’s ex-wife.

In an update, it appears that Beefcake recently received a letter from Hogan’s attorney and decided to share part of it on Twitter. Beefcake also shared photos of Hogan with his ex-wife and daughter.

While speaking with Hannibal TV, Kevin Sullivan discussed whether he believes Hulk Hogan will ever be invited back to WWE. Sullivan says the real reason Hogan won’t be back with the company is because of Linda McMahon’s position as the Administrator of the Small Business Administration under the Trump Administration and the concerns over public image.

“I think if there’s one tape out there, there may be another. But the main thing is, because Linda McMahon is in the cabinet, she’s the head of the Small Business Administration, I don’t think they need any more heat. All you need today is for one person to say it, take something out of context. And they’re very, very concerned about their public image now, and rightfully so.”

Hulk Hogan recently tweeted a message saying that victims of Hurricane Irma who didn’t suffer enough according to Hogan’s standards were “crybabies.”

Hogan, who lives in Clearwater Florida, referred to victims who lost their power and water supplies as “crybabies” who could have had it much worse.

Replying to a tweeet of support, Hogan called some victims “spoiled” who need a headbutt from Kevin Owens for complaining about the hurricane.

Hurricane Irma has caused at least a total of 82 deaths, with 43 in the Carribean and 39 in US in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. A criminal investigation is also going on into a Hollywood, Florida nursing room that lost power in the storm and claimed eight lives.

Russo is joined on today’s show by his co-host Jeff Lane.

Speaking about the new Elias Samson/Finn Balor feud, Bruce Mitchell from PWTorch recently said that Samson needs programs like this, because he can learn from Balor and Balor can carry him in the ring. Russo says if we look at it from a promo perspective, he hasn’t seen Balor cut a good one yet, and Samson has been cutting great promos ever since he arrived on the main roster.

From a promo perspective Samson can ‘eat Balor alive’, but all these ‘journalists’ just look at things based on the in-ring product. Russo still wonders where Balor’s ‘Demon’ character is, and if the ‘Demon’ isn’t going to be a regular part of Balor’s presentation, Balor is going to have to show us more on the mic.

Russo also comments on the notion that perhaps Finn Balor doesn’t want to cover his face with paint every night because he’s a mark for himself and he wants to build his own brand. Russo says that this can happen when talents start to buy into their own hype from the niche audience. Today’s Superstars will never get over like Hulk Hogan or Steve Austin, because they don’t even understand what it takes to be a star in the wrestling business.
